Some hard standing and lots of grass pitches. We were on a grass pitch and due to heavy rain there was a lot of standing water.
The grass pitches are poorly marked.
Facilities are not bad but could do with some attention, soap dispensers in the gents were often empty and one had come off the wall, I informed a member of staff but no sign of it being fixed.
Location beside the canal is great for level walking and its near the botanical gardens and ness islands.

Have stayed at Torvean many times as it is in walking distance to Inverness but there is also a bus stop 5 minutes walk from campsite.
The toilets let them down the last couple of times we were there but on returning in May the toilets and showers have been refurbished and what a difference, so clean looking and extra showers.
You can also purchase food at the entrance which is good if you want dinner or breakfast. The staff are very friendly and nothing too much trouble.

Very good site. Easy to get to if you are coming from Fort William. Facilities are not in great dolly but they are clean and adequate.
Combination lock is a six figure nightmare so be patient. Inverness is about a 35 minute walk over sports field and by the river Ness. Beautiful views over the river.
Town centre was very noisy on the Saturday but when we were there but Sunday it was was quieter. Lots to do there. A walk to the coast along the Caledonian Canal is a must. Stunning.
Some good places to eat in Inverness and the Black Isle Brewery pub with pizzas and craft beers is highly recommended.

Loved this caravan park
Its in a fantastic situation
As we used to take our kids here when they were all little a good 25/30 years ago, what let's it down is the shower/toilet block as it hasn't been upgraded in all these years.
A big let down to the sight as everything else is first class.

We stop here regularly because of the extensive walks along the canal (an hour's loop up to Muirtown Lock Flight, cross over and walk back the other side); ready access to Inverness or Urquhart castle by bus. This time we were disappointed, frustrated and irritated: Torvean would put any Club member off independent sites completely.
The facilities were the worst of our fortnight trip. No hairdryer, no soap in the dispenser, toilet rolls ran out one evening, half the sinks have no plugs (luckily I always have a spare!), and 2 of the 5 toilet cubicles were unavailable.
The pitches are rammed in. We were allocated a pitch on the designated MH area (the only hardstanding) where the pitches are so close together that a sign says awnings aren't allowed. They're marked on the map as "fully serviced" but you share the water tap with your neighbour. On grass, there was room for either the car or the awning beside the caravan, not both.
Sign at the entrance said "Sorry, fully booked, no drive ons" - plenty of spare pitches both nights. We put everything away when we went off site, because several times vehicles drove in, drove around and drove back out - the entrance is just off the main road, with a popular take away outside the gate, and there's no security gantry. Office closed and no one around after 6pm; we were given a pleasant welcome at check-in, however.
It's a great location but overpriced. We were charged £2 pn for the dog, when there was nothing provided, not even a complementary poo bag; the website says "one small dog per pitch" but someone had two huge alsatians on leads. £36 pn, the worst value of our fortnight trip. Sure, we'll be back because of the location - but next time I'll ask to stay on grass so we can use the wind-out awning.
We can recommend Inverness Botanic Gardens - in walking distance, free entrance, a wee hidden gem near the swimming pool with a great cafe. And castle Urquhart - very atmospheric and great to explore.

The site was basic. Neat & tidy enough. But we feel that people like ourselves are being "shortchanged "@ moment due to "Covid restrictions " only having toilet facilities from 8am -6pm seems excessively restrictive & inconvenient for visitors, near to shops locally but nothing on site
This isnt the only site being restrictive however it seems none of them dropping prices accordingly. This was a consensus of a few campers we met, ie: who have had the same experience.

Have stayed here quite a lot of over the years and always found the toilets spotless although a bit dated. The two guys who previously worked there cleaned the toilets and showers a few times a day. I was very disappointed this time as they were not cleaned properly, the floor look liked it had not been washed when we were there. Other people that I spoke to made the same comments. Also it was very inconvenient closing the toilets at 6pm every night.

Stayed here for one night in our motorhome while touring the north of Scotland. Most expensive campsite on our 8 night tour (£33).
On arrival we were informed that toilet block was only opening between 8am and 6pm. This is totally unacceptable as no other site on our tour had this crazy rule. The campsite had 2 toilet blocks one was totally closed the other had only 1 shower and 1 toilet open during opening hours. We met a family who were staying in a tent who had to buy a bucket to pee in during the night as they had no toilet.
In the morning we walked to the other campsite in Inverness and had a look around. So much better and £9 cheaper. Toilets and showers open. It's a no brainer next time we will be staying there.

This is a site we enjoy coming to and have been here several times, but it is beginning to show its age. It is really requiring done up. It is all grass pitches which get really boggy when wet.
The toilet/shower blocks are"adequate" but with plenty hot water. Wi-Fi is available but 'patchy', if pitched near the wi-fi mast its OK.
The site owners also run the North500 Rental Vans and it looks like all the profits from the site are being ploughed into the rental side rather than the caravan site.
The owners Simpson's Garden Ctre during the closed season should be upgrading the site to make hard standing as its a decent site and very handy for I/ness & touring roundabout the area.
