Beautiful site in a great location and maintained to a very high standard
Cleanliness and meticulously kept by the warden who met us on arrival
And escorted us to a stance
He had a real work ethic and was busy keeping
Things well maintained
You won't be disappointed here. Perfect location
For exploring Inverness

We have just returned from a week at torvean caravan park, Inverness I can't say enough about this park it is a lovely location with grass pitches and now has added free wifi. There is a bus stop a few minutes walk and a premier inn well within walking distance if you fancy a meal or a drink. Daniel the warden is so helpful and keeps the grounds and facilities spotless, this is our third visit and we will certainly be back again. The people we have spoke to on sight have been returning year after year and you can't blame them, this is a fantastic sight there is a small coop, chippie and pizza place less than a five minute drive away which also do deliveries to the sight
, You have the feeling people have known about this place for years but didn't want to share it. Inverness city centre is about 10 mins away by bus 8a or 8c what more can you ask for. This sight sits directly on the Caledonian canal so boat trips upon Loch Ness are on the doorstep we would highly recommend this sight and hope you find it as good as we have.

We have just spent 7 nights at Torvean after an absence of several years and our findings was, things have definitely changed. This was once seen as a highly attractive site but the absence of the original owners is evident. The young student summer help seemed to spend more time in his caravan than doing all the regular maintenance and cleaning you see going on at a caravan club site for example.
The chemical toilet seemed to suffer from constant blocking.
You got a key for the toilet block but only the one at the main gate, the other is located at the far side of the site and the key did not fit the doors there.
The up side is that the Jacobite cruise ship is just across the road and a very handy coop was 5 mins away and next door to a fish and chip shop that did reasonably good food, but there ordering and serving seemed to aggrevate many.
Inverness road system is also very congestive and you never want the Kessick Bridge to close if you are on the North side for the day. It is then a long road home to Inverness.
Finally for young Children the Landmark Activity Park at Carrbridge is a great day out for the kids and even us older people.

We booked a night here in the last week of the season and it showed. We also had non-stop torrential rain and our neighbour’s motorhome had to be towed off the grass. We were advised to park on the tarmac after that. Fortunately we have a long electric cable so we were able to do so.
My partner found that the shower was cold and the bins had not been emptied for about a month. A woman told him that the ladies toilet stank and she wouldn’t use the facilities again so I didn’t bother trying them out.
The young Lituanian chap was helpful and friendly but was only hired on a seasonal basis and appeared to be running things single-handed. We felt that this Park was a bit of a side-line to the main business which was situated in front of the site.
All in all, we were a little disappointed but having read the other reviews, things may have been better at a different time of year.

Lovely site, great location, pitches are a bit close together but wasn't a problem as the site wasn't that busy. The guy who worked there was really pleasant and couldn't help you enough. Toilets and showers were lovely and clean, you need a key to get into them which I believe is safer. The pitch that we were one was grass, there was quite a bit of rain when we were there but that didn't affect the pitch. There was a children's park but our little one was too small to go on it but an older child would love it! Would definitely visit again as is on the bus route which is good as we didn't want to move our motorhome

We have just spent 3 nights at this site. It is a small site along the side of the Caledonian canal.
It is situated behind the caravan sales centre. We were greeted warmly and taken to our pitch.
The pitches are grass and a little bit tight but it is a nice well kept site. There is a caravan accessory shop which is handy. There is a children's play ground on the site.
It is a 20 minute pleasant walk along the river into Inverness. If you like to go out at night there really isn't any pubs within walking distance.
Also we were kept awake by some berries falling off the trees onto the top of the caravan. They also left a sticky mess.
The toilet/shower block is clean with plenty of hot water.

What a wonderful caravan site, so quiet and peaceful, a perfect base for inverness. It is a very tidy and clean site.
We stopped in a static caravan, there are seven of them on site, and they are very well maintained. The canal is just across the road from the site and the inverness swimming pool is only 200 yards away.
Inverness city centre is around a 25 minute walk, along side the river ness.
Didn't meet the owners, just the polish guy who works there, but he was very pleasant and polite, that's all you need. The toilet blocks needed a key, so only folk on site could use them.
There was a small play area for the kids, but due to the wet weather my kids didn't really get to play on the swings, but, if your going to the highlands, as we do every year, you don't go for the weather!
The site is about an acre in size, with a tall fence which is 6 or 7 ft tall, this fence keep things private. We will be going to this site again.

My mother & father used this site for many years, followed by my sister, my brothers & and now ourselves. How I wish we had come earlier as this is one of the nicest sites you are likely to visit.
I thought 'Welltraveled' who left a review in 2006 was a little harsh on the site as the very nature of the site lends itself to being tighter than the 'Big open sites', in my experience, you go to one or the other, this site is so very friendly, passing the time with the persons next to you but maybe that wasn't their style & they may not have wanted that kind of intimacy.
The toilet blocks were always spotless with heaps of hot water at all times, there is a laundry room, phone booth and an information/shop on site also. The site is always immaculate!
Alongside the site runs the Caledonian Canal with superb walks, across the road from the site is the embarkation point for the Loch Ness ferry trips (Well worth it!), and only a short walk of 20mins or so takes you into the lovely City of Inverness, a must see!
So, all in all, I have no problems in recommending this lovely little site if you are in the area.

This Caravan site it a nice quiet site the pitches are kept in very good condition, the toilets are very clean,we have been to this site 3 time so far and enjoyed the location and the piece and quiet, good dog walking path along the canal
The owner is very pleasant on the phone when I booked the site. The centre pitches are for caravans with awnings and the outer are for caravans only.
The only thing I would change is the pigeons they like chatting early so have wakened me up early although we like the wild life, duck and ducklings birds and pigeons and rabbits
Altogether this is a lovely Caravan site for the couple looking for a not to busy and not a lot of children running and playing about

This caravan site is not as it suggests - in the first place there is a six foot high fence - built out of steel- around the place which prohibits any views of the nearby golf course and canal. Secondly, it is a very small site and the pitches are extremely close together, making one feeling claustrophobic to say the least. Thirdly it is near to the main A82 road which has to be one of the busiest in the country at certain times of the day. Lastly if you own more than one dog, or your dog is more than 8" tall you may not be allowed entry to the site - we watched the warden send several poor people away for that very reason this weekend. On the positive side the toilet and shower block was very clean and there is a lot to do close by. Inverness is a nice 20 minute walk away and there is a nice play area on site for children. Hook-ups are plentiful and the site was very clean but overall we failed to see where the 5 Stars have been gained.
