We had a nice weekend on the site & found everything much as stated above. The showers however are now free, which was a pleasant surprise, (we were ready with the change!) We also found that whilst the walk to the top of the hill is a fair distance, (10+ mins.) There is an excellent bus service too & from Haworth. Particularly if you like to go out on an evening, this worked well for us.

On arrival you have to drive down a hill leading to a picturesque valley where the site is nicely tucked away. We checked in at reception where the staff were extremely friendly, picked up our barrier key and headed down to our pitch where we were met and shown where to pitch the tent.
The surroundings were beautiful, we had a little stream next to us, and pitched up facing the railway line where the steam train ran every hour from about 9.30 till 6.00pm which was lovely to see and nice to wave to the people on board!
Facilities were extremely clean, the showers cost 30p, well worth the money (really hot and clean) but make sure you have lots of 10p's before you head to the shower block! Lovely fishing pond on the site with lots of ducks and wildlife and a field full of deer just up the bank near us.
As the site was adult only it was really quiet and peacuful and we would definately go back again.

 August 2004
We have just spent the bank holiday weekend on this site. We arrived on Saturday evening and the owner was very helpful and friendly pointed out a couple of suitable pitches, showers etc and left us too it.
The site was very water logged between pitches, which given the rain can only be expected. Though we did feel had we have wanted to use an awning we would have struggled to fit it in the allocated pitch.
This site is extremely well maintained. We stayed on the main level, set in the hillside with dear roaming in the field right next to us! If we went again we would prefer to be on the lower level site which we think would have originally been the family pitches, which look much more open - and we did notice that the people were much friendlier down there!
The showers and loo etc are excellent, clean and modern.
The site was further away from Haworth than we hoped as we expected to by able to nip in on our bikes, but the main road was too busy, it was up hill but that wouldn't have been a problem - all downhill home!
There are quite a number of seasonal caravans pitched, and in the lakeside area I would guess its full with permanent pitches, some which looked like they could do with a good tidy up too - which let the place down.
The downside to the site is they seem very tight on electric. The amp's can't have been very much on the pitches as it took very little for us to trip which we found annoying as we don't use a lot of electric but did have the heat on low - put on the kettle and pop off it went - I know we should use the gas... ! Also the showers were 30p a go, which we thought 1) a high cost 2) a pain making sure we had £1.20 a day in 10 p pieces - they did have a stock at reception but obviously thats at opening times - and I'm not always organised to think in advance! Hubby did manage a 10p shower yesterday though - he said he was testing how long it would last and felt it lasted as long as a 30p shower!
If you like walking, there are plenty to do from Haworth - we did the Wuthering Heights 6 1/2 mile walk which was really well signposted.
Would we go again - maybe!

this is a adult site only (no children are allowed...but dogs are ) and is situated just off the main Halifax road. You drive down a slightly steep bumpy road to the actual entrance to the site, from there it is well tarmaced upto the reception area and throughout the site.

I arrived late (about 21.30hrs) and the owners where on hand to assist and guide me to the pitch, Which was accessed through a key controlled barrier and then down a short steep hill to the main site, the site was tiered and well laid out with lots of space between each one (The site is in three parts)

the main site (which I was on..about 20 > 25 pitches then there is 2 larger ones ...one by the lake ..and another one slightly further away from the main one ...down by the river.which is also the tent area

from what I seen the majority of them (if not them al) are stone chipped and some are chipped slightly wider for an awning. cant say about the rest of the pitches but the main one I was on had the electric point between two pitches

toilets where clean and fresh, though a bit cold, also had a laundry (coin operated again £1.50 for a was and dry) ...showers where warm and you needed 3 ten pence's to operate them ...but the all this is ONLY IN THE MAIN PITCH AREA One stone built building for the whole site ...the other ones only had a toilet Porto cabin type arrangement..so if you where on one of them you had a fair walk (or as some did drive round)...no shop or entertainment on site, and the nearest pub was a fair hike up the hill, and then along the main road a bit.!!!!

but If you want a nice pleasant site with peace and quite, with a friendly staff and nice walks along the river bank.... this is the one ...very pleasant surroundings with the steam trains running at the back of the river...just bring your own drink

would I go again???...YES
