This is an excellent, basic C.& C.C. camping site, catering for caravans, motorhomes and tents. The central feature of the site is a huge lake, used for fishing, canoing, windsurfing and even training Newfoundland dogs in water rescue, not to mention the Fire Service who practice their underwater rescue skills on sunken cars.
There are no electrics and you need your own sanitation as there is just a water supply and an Elsan point.
The site is only minutes from the A1 and is a good centre for visiting the Yorkshire Dales. being within easy driving distance of Richmond, Bedale, Ripon, Northallerton and a host of small market towns.
