Nice small site with EHU and fresh water points. Gentle sloping with a cracking view. Bit of a walk to the toilets and no showers.
There is no warden at the site so if you arrive after 17:00 you get to figure out where to setup and where the toilets are
Can't really speak to the other facilities avail as high winds killed our tent and we left early, however there is almost a small village at the site with a bakery & farm shop, a tearoom, an angler shop, bird of prey sanctuary, the farm visitor centre and I think a honey farm shop. There is also a children's play area. Not sure if access is free for campers. Horses call the field to one side of the campsite, home and there are sheep and other animals to the other side. Camping fields are fenced off so kids can run free
It was our intention to use Betton Farm as a base to explore Scarborough due to its proximity to the town.
The only gripe is the entrance is not clearly sign posted and the lack of shower facilities
We will be returning in the spring/summer time

Unfortunately I don't have very many good things to say about this site except the park and small animal selection was good for the kids, and the honey and dandelion and burdock was the best we've tasted in a long time, although it was expensive.
There are no showers or washing up facilities. You have to share the toilets with the customers from the shop and business which is quite embarrassing when you go rolling up there for a wash and get looked at like you are a tramp that walked in off the street!
The toilets consisted of, mens: 2 urinals, 1 cubicle, 1 sink 1 hand dryer. Ladies: 2 cubicles, 2 sinks, 1 hand dryer.
After the second day of being at the site there was no soap and no toilet roll, it was just as well I brought my own!

Just came back from a weeks stay at this campsite with a group of 5 adults and 5 kids, everyone loved it. The kids enjoyed the play park, the big field for ball games, and the small animal farm especially the ponies in the paddock. This campsite is quite quiet with only about 10 pitches. I would recommend booking if needing electric. The facilities are ok but would benefit from showers. Great bakery, tearooms and newly opened bistro. The campsite is only about 15 min walk from the village which has a spar shop, garage and fish and chip shop. The village also has a great pub The Denison Arms serving fantastic food and HUGE portions! Booking needed as very busy for meals! Campsite about 5 min drive from Scarborough and we managed to visit Whitby, Bridlington, Falmingo land and Goathland where heartbeat used to be filmed all within 1/2 hours drive away. This campsite is great value for money only 14 per night with electric and no costs added on for gazebo, extra people, extra cars etc like some do. We will definitely be back to this campsite.

I pulled into the parking area and nearly turned round again I wish I had done. Anyway the wife booked 3 nights so off we went to the field, true it had a nice view but that was all. Getting in the field is bad enough with a awkward right turn anything bigger than our van 15 foot would not get in easily. The field is very uneven. My other half took one look at the toilets and said we are not stopping here. The toilets are shared with all the coach parties that stop here. On asking for our money back all she would give us is half [18 pounds]. Yes there was nice shops and pubs but we did not stay long enough to use them.

Stayed 3 nights over the weekend, found the site dry despite rain previous to our arrival. Plenty of room if you don't require any electric. The site has 6no hook up's, all from the same point. So booking would be an advantage. Paid £12 per night inc. Hook up.
Toilets were cleanish, but unfortunately no showers (not the end of the world) but no washing up facilities, found this very strange for the size of the site!
Very pleasant staff and the added bonus of an on-site bakery, with very nice bread and cakes etc. Good playground and field for the children to let off steam and the local village 15mins walk away and Scarborough only 15mins bus ride.
All in all a nice quiet site, with plenty of distractions for the kids. Will visit again.

Stayed two nights, arrived with heavy rain, but ground drained really well. Very friendly small site. Kids loved the small animal park and play park which was free to campers. Bird of pray section has to be paid for. No showers, but toilets ok. On site small shopping complex with various outlets (see website) Plenty for space for kids to play ball games, wellie throwing etc. 10-15 minute walk into Ayton, were local spar and pub, fish shop ect. Didn't use pub for a meal as went on Saturday but had a power cut, so never did get that steak ! Looked good food and was very busy, best to book if you intend to go for a evening meal.Went to Walkers Fish Restaurant instead, it was a really nice meal, service was good and good valve and made the kids very welcome. Did a local walk to the village and than followed the sign to Forge Valley, well worth doing, some bits on the roadside so take care with kids. Good weekend, would revisit. Tent £10 and camper £8 per night.

August 2005 The field and pitch were large enough and the owners very friendly. The site had a very good farm shop and a tea room. Young children are catered for in the form of a small farm animal enclosure and a play park at £1 a time in the honesty box! Toilets were clean although no showers. The views from the site were great as shown in the pictures on the web site. Unfortunately the pictures neglect to show the view behind the camping area where there is a busy main road running just the other side of the hedge. We had planned to stay for a week, but packed up after the first night due to the traffic noise. Other than that a very nice site. We ended up paying £7 for the night although we were initially quoted £12 a night on the phone! Bargain!

August 2005 Just come back from this lovely little campsite. We paid 9.00 per night for the pitch, electric hook up and our awning very good price we thought. It is a good site for people with younger children, paddock right next to the caravan field with horses, donkeys and goats in. Next to that a playground for the kids with tractors/cars for them to play in and zoom around. Must say that they could perhaps do with getting new ones as a lot of them were broke. Theres a small farm where you can buy a bag of food and feed the animals which all the children loved. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and as the campsite had lots of other kids there they all played together and had great fun. The only minus to this is the toilets (there are no showers) they really could do with a good clean/revamp. Didnt spoil our break though but would have certainly made it better.

June 04 This site is great for kids. Loads to keep them occupied. It has no showers or washing up area but at £8.00 a night including electric its cheap. No restrictions on unit sizes, all pay same price.
Very helpful owners. There was no hook-ups left when we got there but the owner ran one from his personal supply in the out building for us.

May 2004 Just had a week at Betton farm, used the CCC rally field, paid £4.50 per night. There are toilets which can be used by campers, these are situated in the farm centre. Site very easy to find and well situated approx. 13 miles from pickering and 3 miles from Scarbourgh.
