Aug 2003 We really enjoyed our stay at Betton Farm. It's a really good site for young children as it's got a playground which is quite large and also farm animals, some of which the children can pick up and feed. There is a tea room which provides reasonably priced meals if you don't feel like cooking yourself. The site was clean and tidy. The charges are £6.00 per night per unit (no extra charges for pup tent, car, dog etc.) If you want electric, it is an extra £1.50 per night. No showers at present but as someone has already suggested, there are superloos at Scarborough, Whitby and Filey which have showers, hairdryers etc all for 20p - just pay at the front booth and go in and use the facilities you require. Theres no washroom either for your pots and pans but this is easily solved by taking a washing up bowl with you. It's also a very doggie friendly site for all you people who are as daft as me and insist on taking the pooch along!

July/Aug 2003 What a really nice site, loads for the kids to do. It was really close to Scarborough and although it didn't have showers you could go in the super loos in scarborough and have a shower for 20p for adults free for kids. The site had a great playground with loads of sit on ride trucks for various ages and a really nice shop.
I would recommend this site to families it's great. Can take caravan or tents.

July/August 2003 We were camping as part of C & C C holiday meet so were on the rally field. It is quite a small site with a "paddock" which is the CS for C & C C & an overflow small field, then the big rally field. I think the normal charge is about £8.50 - not sure if this includes hook-up which is available. It is fairly level but on a slight slope.
There are not any showers - planned for next year I believe. The toilets are clean and if you get up early before it opens to the daytrippers you can use the disabled toilet to wash as it is private & has it's own small washbasin.
There is a petting farm ( goats, a cow, donkeys, chickens, rabbits etc)and play area for the kids which was free to campers and a discount for the Birds of Prey. Not sure about the bee/honey farm bit. All these different attractions are owned & run by different people! There is also a tea shop & bakery cum gift shop. And 3 friendly horses in the field next to the overflow & rally field.
It is quite a stroll into the village of East Ayton which has a good fish & chip shop & Spar & the pubs looked nice but we didn't try them. It is about 3 miles outside Scarborough.
We enjoyed our week there but less hardy souls may find the facilities a bit basic at present.
