Very easy check in - tidy site, & lots of staff to ensure rules adhered to. The pool was not heated & too cold for the children to stay in more than a few minutes. The walk to the beach was a bit dangerous unless you are sure footed. The field was quite a slope & the facilities basic. The pub & shop on site were very reasonable & the staff very friendly. The Sunday lunch was very good value. We really enjoyed our stay at the site.

CCTV cameras and security staff on site and a very comprehensive set of rules should, perhaps, have been the give away. Thoroughly enjoyable during the day but the evening was a nightmare. Every listed campsite rule was violated - particularly unsavoury was the group of 13-15 year old lads (unsupervised) who were very drunk and abusive until at least 4am. I complained the following day to be told that the boys were in fact related to members of staff - explain that! A busy site and there is a slope to the main field - facilities are very basic but the pool is very much a plus. That said, from our and fellow campers' perspectives we will never again go to this site and I would suggest that families think twice before making a booking.

September 2004 What a cool campsite! No hassle at all. Huge field, basic loos and showers but such a great atmosphere and beautiful view. And a bargin at only £5 per person. My son and I only have a v. small tent and resent being charged the same price as the 'South Fork' of awnings you see. These campsites should be a little more discerning with their tarrifs. The warden was friendly and unobtrusive and we didn't get hassled out of there.
This is my first year of camping. I've had some bad experiences (like being told not to play chess so loudly!) This, at the end of the season, was a breath of fresh air!

6 august 2004 Well just got back from a 2 day stay and I though it was a great site. The toilets were small which wasn't a problam there was a slight smell where we pitched our tents due to the drains by us but that didn't bother us. The camp was packed and the staff where great.
The swimming pool was small but nice to cool down, the food was 1st class and the prices was good. Overall i would recommend for a great time and a drink or 2. Shall be going again

July 2004 Very friendly site where campers very much left alone.
Huge field so kids able to run about without distrurbing others, right on top of the beach but didn't visit.
Facilities not that good compared to others but in working order, just a bit dated to be honest.
After the first night we found that it was exactly the sort of site we wanted but needed slightly more up date facilities for kids in particular.
Good atmosphere and good for a short break with kids.

July 2003 This must be the most basic site I have ever camped in. The Pool wasn't particularly clean and the showers very basic. We pitched our tents, placed our windbreaks around the outside and when we returned the next day from our day trip other campers were sharing our windbreaks, there was certainly no pitch restriction or any order on the site at all. We actually had difficulty parking near our tents on our return!

6-8/june 5£ per head per night. Quiet basic site. No evening entertainment but a nice onsite pub with meals and famillies bar. Ideal for fishing weekends with beach very near. Toilets and showers unrestricted and very clean. Easy reach to Barry BarryIsland and Penarth towns Very enjoyable getaway weekend location

may 2003 + The field is partly flat/ on a slight slope and has a beautifull view . Pub and swimming pool on site. Full breakfast on site was a bargain at £3. - ...No mains hook ups available and the toilet/shower block was just adequate.
TIPS. Medevil village over the road was a good day out . Taxi to cardiff arena is £12. Camping cost £10 for two adults for one night.
Display your pass in the tent or you might get woken up at 8 a.m by the warden.
