Lovely place, staff called Ian very helpful.
Disappointed that not open on bank Holiday Mondays,
Could do with little shop selling essential more for children go buy sweets.
Disappointed with times clubhouse opens and closes.
If pool is open all day, the clubhouse would benefit a lot if it was open too.
Personally I think this place losing another of money, can't watch football or rugby, which to me losing a lot of business.
This place is such a welcoming place it's people.

I loved how quiet and calm it was on the site.
The staff were really friendly.
Enjoyed using the pool too.
Only area for improvement would be lockable door on the showers.

We stayed for a Mon-Sat end of July at start of school holidays, on the touring part that has 10 pitches we were the only people the whole time, other than a campervan for a quick 1 night stay.
The site is mainly all chalets, a bar that doesn't open Mon/Tues and is only 5pm-10pm and a swimming pool that you need to pay £20 deposit for key. We didn't try the pool and only had 1 drink in the bar, the pool table is free to use.
We chose this site to use the coastal path into Penarth and Cardiff on our bikes and running, the other direction was a nice ride into Swanbridge, where you can walk out to Sully Island in low tide.
Just a short bike ride back to main road is Cosmoston Lakes, we had a ride and run around the lakes on their marked out routes, good place for coffee and walk with a dog.
Next to the site is Lavernock nature reserve, this is very popular with dog walkers, who drive to the area, this causes a problem getting to the site with a caravan, the road is very windy and narrow, so coming head on with a car was a huge problem for all involved!
The touring area is at furthest part of site, you have to go back up to the entrance to get to the start of coastal path which was just next to our pitch, we were informed that there used to be a gate but it was took away to stop strangers entering the site.
The facilities were really good and clean, 3 showers and 2 toilets for each sex, an outside washing up area also, as they used to take tents.
A couple of things that we think would improve the area for tourers would be some lighting, either on electric posts or boundary fences, it was so dark walking back and forward to facility block. Plus all the hedges could do with being reduced a lot, so that you can have a clearer view out to sea, you look out to Western Supermare.
We enjoyed our stay here, the staff were friendly and helpful

We have visited this site a few times in the last year, great service.
Shower block pretty decent for a basic shower. We have always took a dog and there’s never been a problem with that.
There’s a large open area for the kids to have a run around and it’s fenced in.
Great views, decent traditional pub and small kids park.
We will be returning

Showers and toilets were very clean. Marconi pub was pretty basic with loads of drunk people having a barbecue and messing about with a blowtorch. Not an ideal place for kids.
Park was very basic No food available so ended up having a takeaway.
Was supposed to stay 2 nights but ended up only staying one because kids were bored senseless.

No longer open the field to the General Public. It is now only open for spectators attending the Millenium Stadium or other prior arranged Events (such as Ashes cricket).

The two of us (a couple, 28) stayed three nights over the Madonna weekend.
Beautiful site, beautiful views, good soft ground for the tent peg. Good free showers.
The site was on a serious slope, and was quite windy as it is on the coast. Despite the signs saying 'strictly no noise after 11:00' there were people yelling and screaming until after 3:00am. We paid £20 each night which was too much.
We will not be going back during a summer weekend. But would possibly not be bad during mid week.

A site where the camping facilities are an add on to the chalets you pitch up in a field no set pitches. The field is on a large slope so you do feel as though your sliding out of your bed while you sleep- teehee A very quiet site until the weekend that is when the 'locals' come for a two night stay, at this point the sites rules of loud music and noise were tested and responded to by staff resulting in one group being vacated. The owner when I contacted him stated that he wanted this site to be a 'family' site but this wasn't so at the weekend and resulted in alot of the noise over the weekend. The pool is very cold but my kids loved this as the pool was not over used. Glad to see the pool being daily checked by the pool manager The amenities are in desperate need of a refurbish not fully working and the hot water is very hit and miss, only 1 dish washing sink and two showers, two toilets and three washbasins (in both genders facilities) for a huge field But wow what fantastic views, beautiful scenery & walks- lots of potential to improve this site

Myself and 5yr old son stayed here over BH weekend for the Millenium Magic Rugby League in Cardiff. Excellent site, very clean and tidy, excellent helpful staff and good shop, bar and cafe. Only problem was 2 showers in mens resulting in a large queue in the mornings. Pebble beach at the bottom of site, which kept 5yr old entertained throwing stones! Quite a slope on the site, but plenty of flat pitches to be had. Overall, excellent well maintained and well organised site. Recommended.
