Disappointing stay. Not child friendly. The children were told off for playing in the woods behind the camping field by the owner. What a waste of a beautiful resource!
We spent half an hour trying to check in on arrival. Unable to find the owner, we looked every where and took the advice of the shopkeeper as to which field to pitch in. He were not happy as apparently this happens all the time.
We later found out there is a board that tells you where to pitch, but we were not on here either. Very disorganised. We then got into trouble for pitching in the wrong area, disrupting other arrivals who were on the board.
Not having access to the showers between 10. 00 and 5. 30 so that visitors to the shop/ museum could use these was a bit of a pain as we needed to wash very a very dirty child at 4pm and couldn't get access. It also meant that we had to cut our jog short in order to be back by the 10am deadline. There were definitely not enough showers and ladies had to share their facilities with the men, who had their own loos.
My husband got told off twice by the owner, once before he had managed to close the lid of the large bin 'don't leave that lid open', and secondly on leaving the toilet 'don't leave that light on!'.
When we checked out, the owner had no idea how many of us had stayed and how many had not. They do not accept card payments, so take cash. Beautiful area, but try another site!

We found this campsite recommended in an older edition of Cool Camping and managed to get a last minute booking. The owner was very helpful and accommodating.
The campsite in on a farm in some outstanding scenery on the South Downs, about 20 miles north of Brighton. As well as the tent field there is a small caravan field plus a tea room and shop. The tea rooms and shop are open to the general public and are busy but this is a little away from the camping areas and did not disturb or negatively affect our stay.
The farm also has a nature trail through the woods, again open to the general public, and some wallabies and small deer. The area by the tea shop also has chickens and ducks running around.
The camping field is huge and surrounded by woodland. Only one edge of this huge field is used, which allows a massive amount of space for each pitch. From our camping experience this is very unusual and on some other campsites this field would have been packed with hundreds of tents, rather than the 17 pitches used here. A definite plus, although the lower end of the field is on a bit of a slope.
Free showers and no problems with hot water, although there was sometimes a queue for them.
We visited a couple of the local pubs (there are quite a number) which were excellent, plus the Bluebell railway which is also good. Brighton is about 40mins drive away.
It might be worth stocking up on provisions as there are really only garages within easy driving distance selling a limted range.
Some minor niggles:
* The toilets were clean but could do with some updating. Plus there were only 3 shower units with limited opening times (could not use the showers between 10am and 5pm).
* We felt that the shop was aimed more at the public coming to the tea rooms rather than for the campers as it only has limited essentials and what it did have was very expensive. It sold more items like scented candles and baking equipment rather than more useful camping stuff like tent pegs and matches.
Overall a very friendly relaxed campsite situated in a lovely area. Recommend.

We booked this site after looking at their website and reading other peoples reviews. Perfect location for a long weekend and the surrounding countryside is beautiful.
the booking is a bit hit and miss, we booked a caravan and three children but were put on pitch in an adult only field, which is for Caravan Club Members, which we are but we have kids! We then spent the weekend worrying that the kids would annoy those who thought they where booking an area away from children!
There is also a no bike rule which is not stated on the website, nor are there any signs on the site. We took our children out of the site for a bike ride in the evening and my daughter was later told to tell us not to ride through the site.
I am sure Camping in the big field is a bit more relaxed just beware - No bikes and the caravan club site is for Adults only.

Stayed here with friends one weekend in September. On arrival it appeared there had been a mix-up with our booking and there were not 2 pitches with electric hook-up as requested. However, the owner offered us alternative pitches next to each other which were quite generous in size.
Facilities were basic but kept scrupulously clean and there was always, hot water, toilet paper and soap. One complaint would be that there were not sufficient showers in the Mens block, only one shower for the whole site and only 2 in the ladies. This was further restricted by the fact that you could not use the showers between 10am and 5.30pm while the shop and tea-rooms were open to the public as the facilities are shared.
The surrounding area is what makes this site, with Ashdown forest only a 5min drive away. There are no shops within walking distance of the site however, the on site farm shop sells a selection of local produce including milk and delicious sausages!

I loved this place. A great campsite to go to and not have to leave the location at all.
The owner was friendly and chatty and made me feel at home.He greeted me in even though I arrived later on, after 7pm.
There was a choice of fields. Either in with the other caravans and motorhomes, or in a big filed with trees all around. I chose the field for the space, even though it was more of a walk to the toilets.
Great hot showers, free and not limited by token or coin timings. But you have to shower by 10am.
I loved the animals wandering around.Chickens and other birds. A dove cote too. Wonderful!
And lovely facilities in terms of food: a heath food shop! What a delight to find on a campsite! Gorgeous organic veggies and delicious foods. Plus a tea shop / cafe. Very tasteful and wholesome feel to it all.
The nature trail was delightful and the kangaroos a real surprise.
I liked this site for being small, family-run. Far from those 'holiday parks', which is not my thing.

A paddock with around fourteen pitches and other fields. Chickens and guinea fowl roam freely and are housed in a former pig sty adjoining the paddock. Field enclosure with wallabies. Simple facilities, including washing-up area, clean and adequate, close to paddock. Excellent organic farm shop on site, tea room and licensed restaurant open morning and lunchtime, outside seating, craft shop, farm museum and nature trail. Children welcome. Friendly owners. Fees are per person, not per pitch. Hook-up is an additional £2.00. Village within walking distance, no pub but a social club open to non-members. Small site with a pleasant and calm atmosphere despite on-going activity. Lovely scenery.

Good campsite at what I would call the structured end of the camping market where there is an element of commercialism here. Well set out, site options available for tents, caravans, with elect hook up and CC member pitches. On site shop and toilet block, washing up facilities are all good. The nature trail is well thought out (but not free) and is best seen in April when the bluebells are out.
The downside; Its not easy to get through to Heaven farm as you will often get an answerphone and don't bet on a return call. We booked a CC tent pitch with elect hook up but on the day of arrival found our pitch had been given to someone else and all the remaining pitches had no elect hook up. This was subsequently resolved but only at the expense of someone else losing their hook up.
Overall a recommended location but site management could be sharpened up

Upon arrival things were a little confusing, first port of call we were informed by another camper, was the reception notice board were pitches had been allocated to the names of each camper. Fortunating help was soon on hand by the owner, John Butler, a real gent if there was one and made feel very welcome. The site is part of a working farm and is split into two halves with caravan club members being allocated the lower field which is next to the Wallaby encloser. Whilst the field does have slope, Our pitch was next to a plum three and was level. John advised us that should we have problems getting out, he would tow us out, and advise us of the softer area's of the field to avoid. Has it was dry we encountered no problems but in wet weather it could be a different story.
TV reception is very poor even with an high gain ariel.
Toilets and showers are of reasonable standard with hot water. Showers are free but may not be used between 10am - 5pm and the farm is open to the public for cream teas, a nature trail walk and a farm shop selling organic produce at organic prices.
After dark, there is no site lighting so a torch is a must.
We came down from Lancashire for the weekend for the Giants of Steam festival at The Bluebell Railway which is down the road at Sheffield Park.
Heaven Farm, in our opinion lives upto its name, we loved it and would love to return one day to see more of Sussex.

We took our three young children for two nights camping.Lovely little site surrounded by beautiful countryside. Also on site is a nature trail which is very child and pushchair friendly!Toilets and showers were spotlessly clean [not a cobweb in site], We pitched our tent in the top field to make use of the electrical hook up.The kids had a lot of space to run around in the field and the ducks and chickens kept them entertained for hours! We will definitely come again for a couple of nights no more than that as there is not really much else around.Ideal for a quite weekend camping and enjoying the beautiful countryside.

A very friendly site and the people who run it cannot do enough to help. The chickens must be watched as they are fearless in their hunt for scraps! Clean toilets etc and can be used by a wheelchair if you are adaptable. The woodland walk can be done by a wheelchair user if there have a helper and don't mind a rough ride. Will definitely return.
