A beautifully located campsite, overlooking Ullswater. We camped here from Monday to Saturday and experienced very different extremes - up to the Thursday it was extremely quiet and peaceful, but by Thursday night it became quite busy and noisy. With only one male shower and one female shower it soon became quite a hassle to get to the facilities. On the Friday night we estimated there were about 40 - 50 men on site - one shower didn't really seem reasonable.
There didn't seem to be any curfew or noise rules. Consequently we spent most of the Thursday and Friday nights listening to large groups party on into the early hours of the morning.
Overall, we did enjoy the holiday. We would definitely consider returning to Cross Dormont campsite, but would simply avoid it at weekends.
