Recently stayed in our tent here, excellent staff, all very happy to help in any way, nice little shop and café serving excellent portions, very good value for money. Bar and entertainment were nice and clean, though very busy in evening. Grounds nice and clean, although a few resident caravans could do with a clean and most had NO TRESSPASSING signs in the windows! Toilet blocks clean and functional, although shower and WC cubicles a bit small. Kids playground very small and needs expanding, swimming pool small, but patrolled by two guards and on a strict time booking system. Pitch was huge, lots of water taps and power points, although the 'street' lighting at night was to much! (my wife awoke at two am and thought it was morning due to the amount of light from the street lamps!) The views of the estuary are fantastic and lovely walks along the river! Nearest real town is Maldon, big Tesco there and only took 25mins to get there, otherwise you are in the middle of no-where, which we like, but others may not! Will Definitely be coming back and would recommend to friends and family. Just one down side, had small stuffed toys of campsite mascots every where, but did not sell them. Not easy explaining to my two small daughters that they couldn't have one, why on display if you can't buy! Other than that a lovely stay.

We stayed here during the school holidays and had a truly fantastic time even though the weather was not up to much. If you have children then I am sure that this campsite will not be to your liking as it is quite remote and miles away from anywhere. That being said there is entertainment for the kids throughout the day and night along with a small play area, a small amusement arcade and an even smaller swimming pool. For us however this site was absolutely PERFECT and we will definitely visit again. Upon arrival the staff were more than friendly and very welcoming. We were directed to our caravan with ease and first impressions were that the site was very clean and tidy. We stayed in a bronze caravan but the van was very spacious and very very clean.
We used the bar area on site once and there was a good selection of drinks and snacks. The shop was well stocked with basic items needed and the adjoining cafe served excellent food including a monster full English breakfast - perfect if you are heading out for the day
The site itself is minutes from the coast and abaout 3/4 mile walk away from St Lawrence Bay. Here there is a perfect pub on the front and also a further pub / restaurant on the walk back! Everywhere is so remote and so quiet and very picturesque. On days out we visited Maldon and Southminster from where we caught the train to London for a day out. We also visited Southend and Colchester Zoo both of which were only half an hour drive away.
In summary if you're after peace and quiet then this is the place for you. There is stuff to do if you don't mind a drive but if you are simply after a relaxing de-stressing holiday then come here as it fits the bill perfectly. We will definitely be returning and the only thing we could ask for next time is better weather!

Just come back from visiting this site. Choose it for its facilities as wasn't too sure the weather was going to be on our side !. The site has a small swimming pool, club house, small amusements, shop and cafe, which dishes out some good food with large portions. Entertainment is also laid on.
The Park is laid out well and is right next to Saint Lawrence Bay, which is very picturesk (?), with nice walks along the bay, Go to the left and you end up at a nice pub about a mile away
I would certainly come back again. Prices represent the facilities provided you would expect from a Park Resorts establishment

We go with a tent one eight year old, non electric and two dogs.
Positives.
Lovely shop, even better cafe if you don't fancy cooking and even better staff! Good price. Toilets and showers nice and clean, shower cubicles spacious and hot. Water available close by and lots of bins. Close to sea and beautiful walks. Lovely clean and nice bar area with a separate entertainment area for kids. Swimming pool lovely and warm with a kid safe pool and jacuzzi area for adults and even one for kids! A good size park if you like somewhere not packed but just right. Staff are fantastic and really friendly. Excellent security. Geoff the entertainment manager is absolutely fantastic!. We were not there on a weekend but we were told by locals the the entertainment is fantastic! Sad to leave! Excellent value for money
Negativess
If you want somewhere with loads to do and places to visit this isn't for you (how ever we see this as a plus). Non electric tents quite a walk from the loo's. Park only useful for under 6's. Lot's of caravans are filled with residents which were really friendly but not a totally holiday feel. The 'other side' of the park could do with a little tiding and updating.
Overall, we had a great time and we would definitely go back.

Just returned from a three night break at this resort. Chosen for the indoor swimming pool and entertainment in case weather was bad, wise move.
Positives,
Swimming pool was not crowded due to needing to pre- book a session. Water in shower and washing up area was always hot. Launderette was reasonably priced. Shop had all the essentials and a cafe where meals were served all day. The magician on Friday night was very good, our son and other children not very impressed by SPARKY. Play area with equipment suitable for probably up to 6 year olds tidy and close to the club house if you wanted to sit in there. Lots of arcade games for children although we tend to avoid them as much as possible. Water taps and bins spread throughout the site. Staff helpful and friendly.
Negatives
Pitches very uneven and had holes but are well defined and a good size. Showers, toilets, washing up area which is in the launderette, all by reception so a long walk from the pitches. The cleaning of the toilets and showers consisted of replenishing the toilet paper and hand towels and I think once in 4 days putting cleaner in the toilet. The showers sinks or floors in any of the blocks were not cleaned and I was in after the cleaner had been so not a case of children making a mess as previously stated. The cubicles in the block by the shop are very narrow. The newer block behind the swimming pool are better. We used the pool showers after swimming as much cleaner. Club house small and already crowded this weekend so will be very crowded peak season. Drinks including soft drinks expensive. Expect to find fliers advertising static homes every where including your morning paper and stickers on the milk shakes.
I did not feel this site catered for campers very well so would not recommend and will not be returning.

We visited in April 2012 - I was very disappointed at the standard of cleanliness and lack of maintenance across the whole site, toilet doors were smashed off there hinges and the showers were not clean whilst we were there. The tiny swimming pool was green and the kids had to book in to use it. It was a real shame as we have used Waterside lots of times but we haven't booked again since though I am sure we will try it again soon - the pitches are nice and big though
Locally there is very little to do within walking distance - everything is quite a long drive away - so make sure you take food and supplies with you

Just returned from my annual birthday overnighter with my good lady and left the kids at home.
Young lady on reception was helpful and pointed me in the direction of the pitch, the non electric pitches are right next to the dyke which is right next to the sea, nice
The only down side to the pitch is a)the pitch isn't level and found many holes in it b)distance to the loo's.
Although food is advertised on site it's a small cafe with take away type foods, nothing special, I fancied something a little special as it's my birthday so took a little stroll up the road to The India Ocean restaurant, very nice. The pub next door was very clicky and when we sat at an empty table was told by a local that it was reserved, so at that point we returned to the site.
The site bar was nice, but very small, how they cope in high season is anyones guess!
Nice site, with nice facilities, will return with the kids next time.
Please remember to bring all your food drinks and fags etc with you as you are in the middle of no where

We stayed here for two nights this week. Check in was fine and receptionist knowledgeable and pleasant. The pitches however were very uneven with deep holes in some. Toilet & shower facilities were not cleaned for over 24 hours. Part of the gents ceiling had fallen in and was left lying in one of the 3 showers all day. The cleaning check sheet on the back of the door hadn't been completed for 2 days when we left and it smelt really bad!. The tiny indoor pool area had black mould growing on walls and around jacussi, it really wasn't inviting and needed a serious clean. The evening entertainment was usual park resorts standard however the very small clubhouse just can't cope with the number of customers with too few seats / tables and expensive drinks. This could be a nice site but was let down by a lack of maintenance and cleaning.

Absolutely love it here! The very first time we came we knew we would be returning! I went with my 4 year old who loved the entertainment, she was very upset the night before we were leaving so she got a Sparky toy 50% off!
The toilet blocks and shower blocks were kept clean and tidy and you often saw the cleaners go in and out in the morning. They have a small shop and cafe as well.
We had no trouble and no one was being to loud in the early hours of the morning, which meant the park was being looked after.
Overall 5/5! Love it here, really recommend it!

Just got back from a stay at waterside.
The entertainment was very good, pitches were spacey and well looked after.
The first set of toilets we found we very very small and weren't well looked after but then we found some portacabins behind the reception and they were very spacious and clean.
The facilities were well looked after and my children fully enjoyed themselves and I felt safe with them running off. The pool was great for the kids but I could imagine it could very very busy in the high summer time.
The only downside we found is the toilets and dishing washing facilities were so far away (we had a non electric pitch)
All in all brilliant site and great for money.
