I'm struggling a bit with this review. The campsite itself is very nice, in a pleasant quiet location, and the staff and facilities are up to usual CC standards. And indeed there is a very nice beach just a 5 minute walk across what looks like a top notch true links golf course.
The problem for me was that that's all there is. The town of Brora is at least a 30 minute walk along the beach or around the golf course (longer if you follow the road) and I didn't feel there was much there to justify that walk. Yes there's a pub and a few eateries but the town is not particularly pretty - having come from the West and North coasts via the NC500 route, the East coast is a bit 2nd rate.
Often when you stay at sites which are a bit isolated you get a mobile catering van at the site. But not here.
I guess it depends what you look for in a site - if you like peace and tranquility then it's great (as long as you remember to go to Tesco before you arrive!), but if you want decent infrastructure nearby then it's not for you.

Very nice site a short walk across a golf course to a vast and beautiful almost deserted beach. You can walk just over a mile along the beach into Brora where there are pubs, food, cafes Etc. After dark you will need to come back via the road, which is a bit further.
Staff were welcoming and the site is good value for members. Facilities were good although showers were a bit small and lacked enough shelves/hooks to place things. There were plastic stools in the showers.
We found TV reception poor but got a few channels.

What a lovely site. Spotlessly clean and the warden was so helpful. Beautiful beach. You can walk across the golf course to the village, which is much shorter and ok in daylight, but wouldn't want to do it in the dark.
We walked in the road way and it was a long trek. Amazing Indian, Sid's ??, if you can be bothered to walk.

We had booked this site in advance a few days earlier from another campsite,
The site access road can be easy to miss from the main road when heading North, due to poor signposting, so check map for details before setting off, Its down a narrow road with passing places only. Once there, we found it to be a beautiful well organized site, as per CC standards, staff were pleasant and helpful.
Choose your pitch and let the staff know, cheap at £22 per night, and the site was lovely and peaceful, not really a lot for children to do on site. Mind you its only 500yds from the beautiful sand dunes and deserted beach, family with kids could spend the day there, weather permitting.
Back to the site which has a nice layout, small, but very clean Toilet and showers. The Water points and Waste Recycling areas are very neat and tidy, grass areas are cut on a regular basis, and TV signal was fine, my 3 mobile signal was hit and miss, basic goods can be bought on site, but nearby town of Brora has a Co-op and hardware store, and eating places, the town can also be accessed from the site by walking along the beautiful beach, approx 15 mins/1 mile from site.
It really makes a relaxing break, so tranquil and away from it all. You can use the site as a base to tour further North to Wick and John'o'Groats (also accessible by Train from Brora Station) or head to the scenic West over to Loch Torridon etc.
The first part of our Holiday had been marred by wet weather etc, but coming up to this lovely relaxing site, really made such a difference, my wife and I hope to return one day, and highly recommend this site.

This was our first visit to Brora C. C. And used it as a base from which to explore the area.
The site itself was well maintained. Our only disappointment was some dog fouling on the site and along the walk to the beach. A reflection on irresponsible dog owners and not on the wardens! Perfect location for dog owners though for walking and exercising their pets.
Facilities were always nice and clean with plenty hot water but showers have a disappointing lack of pressure. Poor mobile and wi-fi reception but tv reception was fine.
We were informed that CC has a policy that wardens are not on call after 8pm except for emergencies. Without going into details, it highly adviseable for campers and caravanners to adhere to this!
Had a lovely takeaway from Sid's Spices in town. There is a really good Co-op supermarket. The falls of Shin are worth a visit. Salmon were leaping in June! A visit to John o' Groats was disappointing. Although it has the potential to be a great tourist attraction, it seemed quite commercialised and some weed killer wouldn't go amiss in the shopping areas.
The only reason I gave child friendliness a score of four was because there is no specific play area on site. This doesn't mean that parents would not be happy to bring there children here as it is a very safe area.

Access to this site is over a narrow railway bridge, for large caravans and motorhomes, access is through the hamlet of Dalchalm.
The wardens are extremely friendly, great ambassadors for The Caravan Club. They keep the site in excellent shape, however the Caravan Club need to spend money on updating the shower blocks. The water pressure in the showers is unacceptable. Also, wifi would be a welcome addition.
A path through the adjoining golf course takes you onto the beach, be aware though that the golf course has sheep and cattle, so dogs must be kept under control. However, once on the beach, there are miles of sand to enjoy, just keep away from the nesting terns.
This is a jewel in the Caravan Club crown, but they need to spend some money on the toilet blocks to keep it this way.

This is not the first time we have visited this site and have never been disappointed.
The only issue that has changed is the increasing number of irresponsible dog owners who allow their dogs to foul empty pitches, disturb other campers by continuous barking and not keeping their pets under control.
As a caravan club member this is becoming an increasing problem on most club sites and is about time the caravan club should revisit their dog policy or at least enforce it.

We came upon this little gem because the site we were originally booked to stay on cancelled at the last minute due to site closure. We weren't disappointed. Very pretty and accommodating little site with lovely views toward cliffs and sea.
Nice welcome from the owners who also are running a B&B from their house.
Sanitary block is reasonably new we were told, divided into three individual shower rooms, each with shower cubicle, wc, washbasin & chair. Showers were equipped with non-slip mats but they looked grubby and needed replacing. Also, condensation was a big problem as there was no opening window in any of the shower rooms. They were quite clean but a bit tired we thought.
The site has a large grassed area in the centre which is kept extremely tidy and there are several hard-standings on the perimeter. Electric hook up with water taps within easy reach. Some road noise as the site is just off the A9 but on the whole a nice little site.

Sort of a friendly welcome but site not quite what we'd expect. The laundry facilities were not working which in Scotland is an essential - some pitches were also waterlogged but this did mean that 'rules' about how to pitch were relaxed.
A bit out of town so anything other than self catering in an evening is the name of the game unless you have a car
Narrow entrance, but we managed in our 7. 45m motorhome.

Lovely quiet site with a very friendly welcome at check in. We stayed for one night on the way up North.
We are not members so slightly more expensive- but worth it.
Facilities were excellent - clean and all working. A short walk over the golf course is a huge sandy beach where the kids loved to play.
Small shop on site with the essentials. I would recommend this site - as it comes with the standard expected with caravan club sites.
