The touring site is quite a small area off the main static site. There were a number of caravans that seemed to be seasonal and as there were only 2 or 3 other units booked in during our visit it was very quite and peaceful - apart from the owls and badgers visiting overnight that is! The other people seemed friendly and the warden and staff we encountered were helpful and informative.
The toilet block is quite adequate with ample hot water in the showers and stools available. However, they were a bit chilly - not sure if they are heated in winter, also there are only 2 showers and 4 toilets so if all pitches were full there could be some congestion. Each pitch had electric hookup and the water point was not too far away - which was helpful as there is a slope up to the site.
The website mentioned a fishing lake - but although there is an ornamental lake in the middle of the site the fishing lake seems to be at another location - some distance away.
The lanes around were very peaceful for dog walking. However, the access to this site is very narrow and there are very few places to pull in- which was OK as we didn't meet any traffic either on the way in or out! As quite a new caravanner this was quite stressful. Not sure that the owners can do anything about this - but would be helpful if they could. The site is well signed from the A49. There are a number of National Trust sites, as well as Ludlow, Leominster and Much Wenlock to explore. Overall we had a very relaxing time and the site suited us very nicely.

Just returned from three nights at Orleton Rise.
Really friendly welcome, even the cats are friendly. Weather not too good but really impressed with the site. Showers and toilets were spotless and were always heated. The site itself was also spotless, didn't even see a scrap of litter anywhere. We were given a lovely large pitch with ehu and well mown grass.
Would recommend this site for anyone who wants a peaceful relaxing time, can't wait to visit again, which will be very soon.

We decided to break our Sept holiday trip home from Pembrokeshire and thought it would be nice to stop off in Ludlow in Shropshire for a couple of nights.
We have to say neither Ludlow or the site we picked did not disappoint.
Orleton Rise is a very well maintained and picturesque site with lots of flowers, plants and tree, s within the static section you drive through to get to the smallish touring area at the rear of the site. The shower/toilet block is very well maintained and was very close to our unit which made life easy. The pitch was good quality hard standing, surrounded by well maintained grass area.
The manager of the site was very friendly and helpful.
The site, s about 5 mile from picturesque Ludlow with all it, s quaint old buildings and nice river and castle.
We don't normally go for sites with mainly static caravans, but Orleton rise has changed our view and we would recommend it highly.

Just back from a stay here over the Jubilee weekend. The warden, Alan, excelled himself before we even set off. We could not get hold of a 907 size bottle of propane in Sheffield for love or money the day before leaving home and in desperation I phoned the site to see if they sold gas. Alan did not have any but contacted a friend who did and personally arranged for a new bottle to be on site when we arrived next day. We thought that was brilliant.
The site itself is everything the recent reviews say it is. Just two pitches for tents but with hook up and sheltered. The grass was the shortest and best kept we've ever pitched on - it was like camping on a striped lawn! The toilet and shower block, although small, was always clean and even though it was a busy weekend there was never a queue.
Our abiding memory of this site is peace, quiet and birdsong. Oh and Ludlow has to be seen, packed with history, wonky buildings and cobbled streets. Eat and drink at the Unicorn pub.

We have literally just returned from an overnight stay at Orleton Rise and I felt compelled to write down our thoughts.
What a lovely location, so peaceful and quiet. We were the only campers there with a few touring caravans. Only 2 tent pitches though. This was a benefit for us as we had more room to run around with our son.
Very well kept including nice little touches like flowerpots etc. Very helpful and friendly wardens.
Bathroom facilities were spotless, warm and well equipped for the size, 3 toilets and 2 showers in each (mens and womens).
Small washing up area with plenty of hot water. Only a few miles from Leominster and Ludlow.
We were disappointed to be only staying one night. We will definitely be going again.

Just returned from a relaxing stay at Orleton Rise. Road to site is quite narrow in places, so I was quite relieved not to meet any traffic.
Site owner very helpful on arrival and touring pitches are reasonably sized. Toilet block very close buy and clean, although shower cubicles on small size. Atmosphere was friendly and spoke to several campers.
Boot at Orleton serves excellent beer and food and although on the pricey side, we thought it was good value.
Fishing lake is actually off-site, a couple of miles away, but for £5 you can obtain a ticket from owner.
Visited Ludlow and I can't believe I've left it so long to visit this beautiful town - view from Castle keep brilliant. Pub Charlton Arms in an excellent position overlooking River Teme worth a visit.
I'd give Orleton Rise a good rating and it's quite possible we'll be back.

Just returned from a weekend away at Orleton Rise.
What a beautiful place, we are already looking in the diary for a date for a return visit.
Turned up at 7.30 on Friday evening (having phoned the previous day). Reception was closed but Alan the warden greeted us and showed us to the tourers site.
There are 12 touring pitches with hard standing and 2 grass pitches. All with electric hookup
Looks like lots of seasonal touring pitches here and on sunday when we left, 4 spaces became vacant.
After helping us in to our pitch the Warden said he would see us tomorrow about payment ( hey nice one.)
The site was lovely, you have to go through the statics site to get to the touring field, but its beautifully laid out and well planted with trees bushes and flowers, even have pots with flowers in as you go up the drive.
Most of the static owners have customised there plots with lights flowers and bird feeders etc.
We had a hard standing pitch, which was very good size and close to the very clean loo block.
There are two loos and showers in both the ladies and mens, a good washup sink (covered), elsen point, laundry room and bins.
We really enjoyed our short stay here with our doggy.
If you are looking for a very quiet place to chill out after a busy week at work then THIS is the place to come.
Also very close to Ludlow and National Trust properties Berrington Hall and Croft Castle.
No club, but there is a sleepy pub at the junction of the lane you drive down to access the site.
No games room - who needs one if youve got no kids with you?
Orleton is very nice little village well within a short walk away and they have an annual BBQ/medieval Festival in June (9th & 10th in 2011)
Cant fault this place for a relaxing break.

This site was beautifully kept.
Both staff and fellow campers were very friendly.
Toilets and facilities were clean.
The site was easy to access and within easy drive to local tourist attractions as well as local amenities.
Mostly gravel pitches. Grass pitch was in excellent condition for pitching our tent and the ground allowed the pegs easily into the ground.
Although we camped in August, the cost of camping in a tent without electric hook up was more than other sites we have looked at since. Despite this, we really liked the site and would camp here again.

Absolutely immaculately kept with spotless free shower and toilet facilities for tourers (20p metered hairdryer in ladies), keys given out upon arrival.
Really quiet site with beautiful grounds and well kept pitches. Alan, the manager, was great, always available if needed and regularly visiting the tourers section.
No shop or clubhouse, but for those of us looking for a get away from it all site, this was perfect. Complete silence at night punctuated only by owls out hunting.
Only about 16 pitches for tourers so probably best to book ahead as several were taken seasonally. Great base for exploring Shropshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire and across the Welsh border into mid Wales.
We visited Ludlow, Malvern Hills, Long Mynd and Ironbridge - all within 1 hour drive from site. Directions to site were spot on, loads of little local roads for safe
Dog-walking and cycling. Can't wait to return.

We have just returned from a holiday spent at Orleton Rise and what a treat it was! The park is immaculately presented and offers a wonderfully peaceful stay in beautiful surroundings. We discovered walks, National Trust properties and quaint towns nearby. Although we had been warned by the wardens that there is no shop on site, we quickly found a Post Office in nearby Orleton which sold just about everything! On site the facilities are excellent - and very clean : showers, loos, wash up area and a laundry room if required. There are exceptionally well tended grounds with plants, trees, a lake and finely cut lawns. We have stayed on a number of sites over the years and this one would definitely come into the 'outstanding' category.
