Booked here because we couldn't get into the big camps down the coast and what luck it was to find such a perfect site with easy access, great toilet block seemed new and kept spotless, small level touring park away from statics surrounded by wildlife. We even brought a frog home gave us a shock when unpacking the awning to dry and it jumped out.
This site is a credit to the owners who keep it so tidy. Slight noise from traffic but only the heavy stuff. When we stayed the touring area was only half full and most of the caravans were unoccupied we rarely saw anyone for the five days. The only downside to the site is the travelling distance to town, sea, pubs and shops not a site for children unless they are into nature study which is plentiful
We will most definitely return.

What a wonderful site!
We stayed here for the end of May Bank Holiday. As far as we could see every pitch was taken but it didn't seem overcrowded. We don't have kids and like a peaceful holiday and it was.
Two showers each for ladies and gents but never had to queue. Showers and whole of the site is immaculately kept. The owners seem lovely people and obviously care about what they do. Attended a coffee morning to raise money for charity for wildlife trust - was great.
When we arrived was a little bit worried about close proximity to road but to be honest didn't notice traffic noise during our stay. There are lots of trees which probably hide any noise. At least you don't have the problem of access down winding roads!
Would definitely return to such a peaceful & beautiful place!

We have been to this site many times now and found it is the best one we have ever visited. The Managers Dave and Jayne make you feel most welcome.
The site is immaculate. The grassed area's can only be described as bowling greens. A credit to young Gareth and Dave.
The toilet and shower facilities can only be described as 5 star hotel standard.
A walk across to the wildlife park is well worth it to see the water buffs.

This site is within easy travelling distance of the Centre for Alternative Technology (well worth a visit). The pitches are small but well tended. The touring field, with electric hook-ups, is well away from the static vans. The toilets and showers are kept immaculately clean. Do take the short walk into the local nature reserve to see the Water Buffalo. Recommended.

We stayed at this delightful site for the weekend during The Dyfi Enduro, over the May day bank holiday and were more than happy with the site. We only had a little tent so stayed down in the bottom field away from the large statics and other caravans but this was a crackin' sheltered and level spot. The field led into a nature reserve where there is a resident water buffalo and an abundance of birds and other wildlife. The toilet/shower block is the best I've seen in a long time and even after a wet couple of days they were kept immaculately clean. (Well done the managers!). Going away again this bank holiday and if we haven't left it too late we'll be back!

This is a gem without a doubt the best toilet block I have ever used free POWER showers and every pitch is a super pitch no shop or club but a delightfull nature reserve with direct access from site containing among other things water buffalo, a course fishing pool and a bird watching pool /area with hides. Very helpful wardens but the site could be boring for kids though.

We booked this site on the basis of a previous review. The site was excellent for tents. The grass was cut and at an excellent standard. For once the site was level. We were the only tent in the field, but I guess we were out of season. The site is mostly static mobile homes, but there is space for tourers in caravans (with good hookups) and lots of space for those in tents. The toilet block is excellent and very new. On the downside, which is nothing to do with the site. Remember to take your jungle formula or whatever. The site is adjacent to a nature reserve, and in the evening it can be quite difficult. But if you use a repellent it is ok. For those that know it is Culex and Culicoides, so be aware. The adjacent nature reserve is managed by the Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust and if you are really lucky (which we were not) you might see the Water Buffalo grazing! In summary: an excellent site which we would highly recommend.

Fantastic site. We stumbled across this site after leaving a very poor site and heading for home.we ended up stopping 3 nights. This site has the cleanest showers & loos I have ever seen on a campsite. And the showers are really hot and powerful whatever time of day you go. The site has no other facilities, no bar, no play area, no shop, but you know, it didn't matter one bit. The camping field was well sheltered and they had two football goals in the middle which my son loved. It wasn't packed as I think the site mainly advertises for caravans, so the camping field had loads of space. The managers were lovely people who were happy to help, and through a gate in the camping field was access to a nature reserve for a nice short walk. The nearby town was only 5 minutes away and had all the shops, banks etc you needed including a really nice pizza bar. There is also a leisure centre for a dip! If you go here we recommend you visit King Arthur's labyrinth and the steam train which runs from Tywyn.

July 2004 This is a very clean, friendly site. We have a large tent (16 berth) and needed two pitches, this was not a problem to the managers. We were given a great pitch. Toilets and wash-up rooms were clean at all times throughout the weekend. The location is excellent and the managers Jayne and Dave very friendly and helpful. The site was also very clean all the way through. There was also alot of wildlife, (rabbits, frogs, birds, etc.) there is a fishing lake and another lake near the static caravans which we were told an otter lives. In fact we liked the site so much we have decided to buy a new static caravan on this site. (what more can I say).
