This site now has me hooked on Ospreys. The Osprey Site next door is fantastic, it was wonderful to see the birds and the centre is so well set up and friendly, with volunteers there to help you + binoculars.
Can I also add that the food in the café is excellent, especially the cakes and cheesecake. You need to note the Osprey are only there from about May to mid August.
The camp site is really a large static home site with a section for touring. It's very well run and the toilet and shower facilities are excellent. Each pitch has it's own water and electricity.
You can also buy local free range eggs. Plus indoor washing up. Lots of the pitches look out to the hills. The site also has it's own bird hides, a min-lake, and a children's play area.
The down side is that it's next to a busy road and you can hear the traffic.
It's 2 miles into Machynlleth but there is a bus stop outside the site. It's also a good base for exploring the area.
The question we always ask ourselves is would we come again, and the answer is Yes.

We originally booked this site for 2 nights in order to visit the osprey project next door, but on taking a brief tour of the site, we quickly added a third night and wished we had time to stay longer. The whole place is so lovely!
The grounds are really well kept and beautifully laid out with lawns, shrubberies, wildflower areas and of course the very pretty lake. There are many fantastic viewpoints to take in the light chasing over the mountains which surround the area.
The dog walk is an absolute revelation -it is a big area, where mown paths meander through a riot of flowers, ferns, bullrushes and young birch trees- the dog and I could just wander round, and while he followed interesting scents I could photograph the butterflies and bees and soak up the views.
There are bird feeders dotted around the site - all kept topped up and well used by the smaller birds. The osprey project does not allow dogs anywhere, but to be honest that was no let down as I was perfectly happy staying on the site and got a great view of some buzzards and red kite flying over.
The staff are really helpful and friendly, and keep the facilities spotless. The pitch was nice and level, with its own water supply. It was very peaceful all the time we were there.
I took the bus to Machynlleth and were pleased that they allow dogs to travel. You can also buy a day rover ticket between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth, so no need to move the van once pitched.
I think we will have to stay for longer next time we visit.
I have not rated the site for child friendliness as we have no children, but there are play areas on site.

We chose this site as it is situated next to Dyfi Osprey project site that we wanted to visit.
Situated 3 miles South of Machynlleth just off A487.
The site mainly caters for static caravans, but has a section for tourers, with each pitch having its own tap.
The site is very well maintained the :- toilets, showers, wash up areas are immaculate. Strict Covid Policy in place and adhered.
There is play area provision for children, and a fishing lake.
There is a footpath from the site to the Osprey project.
Regular bus connections to Aberystwyth, Machynlleth from site entrance.
There is a certain amount of traffic noise as it is near the road but it is quiet at night.
Recommend visiting Machynlleth Street Market on Wednesday, and of course the Osprey project.

This was a last minute booking for us as we were on our way down to Tenby for a week and decided to set off the day before to break up the journey. We're glad we did.
A lovely site just off the main road ( no, road noise is not a problem here. ) It has a mixture of Statics, tourers and an area for tents.
There is a fishing lake, swings and a small area for ball games on site.
The site is immaculately kept as are the toilet's, showers, and washing up facilities.
We had pitch number 16. The views we had over the hills was stunning.
We would definitely recommend this site to all.
Hope to return again in the near future.

Returned to this lovely site after many years pleased to say it has still remained the same unspoilt site. Owners are very helpful, site easy access from the main rd. Short drive to train stations bus passes site regularly. Only downside is the traffic noise but didn't bother us will be recommending to our family.

Stayed here for 5 nights, very peaceful and pleasant. The toilets are immaculate and cleaned regularly. Cleanest toilets we have seen at a campsite. The owners friendly and actively busy with maintenance and lawn cutting etc, but did not interfere with the campers.
Good little fishing pond, caught stacks of carp on corn. There is no shop at the park, but shops nearby in the local towns.
Well priced, will definitely stay here again if we are in the area and would recommend it to anyone.

We have just spent a week camping at Morben Isaf and have had wonderful time. We are a family of 4. 2 adults and 2 children aged 6 and 4. We also took our two dogs, Labrador & collie.
We arrived on Saturday morning and were greeted by the site managers and directed to the camping field.
First impressions:- very clean and tidy. Very friendly. Lovely location. Flat field. Plenty of space.
We pitched and set up camp whilst the children played in the field. One of the good things about camping here is that they only allow a few tents on the site so as not to overload the capacity on the toilets / showers which is very considerate and sensible.
The site is mainly statics but these are so well set out you do not feel like you are part of such a big site. There is a touring area too which have hook-up. Only tourers and campers have use of the toilet block as the statics have their own facilities. We never had to wait to use the showers or toilets. There is a separate washing up room and chemical disposal point if you need it!
The camping field is about 2 mins walk from the toilet / shower block. At first I was a bit bothered about this but it did not prove to be a problem at all, even with 2 young children. If there has been a lot of consistent rain the camping field would be rather boggy. It was quite wet when we were setting up but soon dried out.
The toilet block has won awards for 'best loo' and they really are top-class. Hot water, showers and hair driers are all FREE.
At one point in the break we had to use the laundry and this too was immaculate and very good value (£1 for a load).
There is a fridge/freezer facility to store cold goods. This is not openly accessible as it is in the workshop but I know the owners were thinking about relocating it to make it easier to get to.
The site is situated on a main road but this was not a problem.
There is a lake on site and a short nature walk. Adjacent to the camping field (with free 24hr access) is the Dyfi Osprey Project. This was an amazing place and to be able to wander over to do a bit of bit of birdwatching was great. The Project is child friendly and the kids loved going across to try and spot the Osprey.
We mainly travelled to Borth and Ynyslas Beaches as we like to go Power kiting. We visited Aberystwyth and Aberdovey which were both nice.
The site charges are very reasonable and excellent value.
There is no specific play area for children but there is still plenty to do. There are a set of goal posts on the camping field available for use. The lake has a safe path round it, which was teeming with tadpoles!
The only other thing needed to mention would be the midges! On our first evening there hubby was ready to pack up and come home! We asked if we could have a fire and the owners gave us permission, within sensible guidelines! The midges were not so much of a problem once we got the fire going each night.
We would certainly recommend the site and will be going there again. It has been a wonderful holiday.

We visited this site for the afternoon as family were staying on here, yes this site is fabulous, clean, tidy, well maintained in all aspects as the previous reviews have said.
Just one thing that needs to be mentioned, if you have children then this site is not really for you. As we found out to our cost, we let our son play with his cousins and were told in no uncertain terms to keep strict supervision on them at all times, he is 11yrs old and does not want a grown up shadowing every move made. So after the dressing down we decided to cut short our visit to see the family.
This site is perfect if you don't have children, or children who want to play by themselves.

We stayed here for 4 nights in August, we found it a very quiet well kept site. The shower and toilet facilities were especially good and always immaculate whatever time of day.
Machynlleth is a 5 min drive away and has plenty of shops Aberdovey is a 20 min drive and has a great beach especially for young children.
The site was very quiet maybe too quiet for some, in fact we were the only tent on the camping field for 2 nights.
The camping field (separate field for those tents not needing hook ups) is flat, well kept and well sheltered, our only criticisms would be of the road noise which could bother some people and the mosquitoes which came out in large numbers.
It was our first camping holiday as a family, we had a lovely break here and will definitely be visiting again sometime next year.
