A quiet well run site just off the A1. We found the swish of the traffic quite soporific actually. There are two service stations nearby for emergency supplies and Catterick and Northallerton are only a short trip away. The field is sheltered and well drained. Owners Paul and Barbara weren’t there when we arrived but had briefed fellow campers who gave us a very warm welcome by proxy. When Paul returned he was particularly helpful and quickly solved two mechanical problems we had with our old caravan.

The facilities (1 shower, 2 loos and 2 basins each) were a little dated but clean and tidy. In fact the showers were the best we encountered in a 1600 mile round trip of the North! The laundry/dishwashing room was well equipped, clean and tidy. We will definitely come again when visiting our family in the area.

Brilliant ! ! there review over, just book and you wont be disappointed.

However for a more in depth review, we stayed here for 4 x nights leaving tuesday am. The site is mainly sited tourers, with space for occasional stop overs. Site is extremely well kept and has a very warm not too much trouble laid back set up ! Fantastic as there never felt any pressure from the owners who are very helpful and full of useful local knowledge which they share with you, ( also there are poster's offering local services in the toilets on the notice boards).

Toilets are small, mens = two toilets two urinals and only one shower, these are a little on the dated side but are extremely clean and serve there purpose exceptionally well. Price for us 2 adults and one child was £64 for 4 x nights ( half the price where we originally planned to stay ). Location is brilliant, make sure your sat nav is up to date, there are roads works ongoing for the widening of the A1.

Quick directions A1 off at junction 51 ( northbound ) at r/bout turn right go under A1 next r/bout straight over, next r/bout turn right 100yards site is on left. 2mins from A1 max but you don't hear ANY road noise at all.

Fantastic well run site keep up the great work it really dose show. See you again soon.

Firstly, I have been camping for many years taking our kids then the grand kids.

Camp was nice but had noisy neighbours, asked if we could be moved and was told to pay extra.

Overall place was nice. Area was nice. Pub was friendly. But don't go with a complaint unless you want to be told to 'deal with it, they will be going in two days'

Would of been higher but 5/10

Once again we booked for an overnight stay at Pembroke Caravan Park on our way to Scotland and wasn't disappointed. We were met on arrival with a friendly welcome. You cannot fault this charming site. Warm and friendly owners, impeccably clean showers/toilets and pleasant surroundings. OK, so it's near the A1 (reason for us using it) but you can hardly hear the traffic and it didn't bother us at all. We visited the local pub for an evening meal which was very good and not overly expensive. This site is definitely our regular stopover from now on.

Came away Monday 29th April and Paul saved our bacon as we only phoned up on the morning we started out. Said he was full for the bank holiday but he jiggled things around and said he was squeeze us in. Well squeeze was not the word because the size of the pitch was great (we don't have an awning although room for one if we had wanted). Plenty of room for others as well. We couldn't get the tow ball off the car but Paul came along with a friend and helped again. Very friendly.

The wash block - one for men and one for women with plastic shower curtain in the shower and lots of room to dry yourself, and two toilets in each one. They were always spotless and had lots of toilet paper. There is a pot wash area under cover but Paul said they are knocking this down and thinking of having a washing machine put in.

The grass is cut quite close and clippings picked up which we like.

Yes it is only a short distance from the A1 which it is the reason we stayed on this site, but you only heard a humming sound in the distance which did not affect us. There is also the occasional RAF jet going over but only during the day.

We have booked until the Tuesday after bank holiday and would definitely stay here again. There is lots to do in the area.

Great site, great location both for seeing all the local area has to offer, or as an overnight stopover when travelling up or down the country. Clean, well kept, and amazingly quiet, given that the site is almost within sight of the A1. Fantastic owners who were very helpful and welcoming. We had asked for hard standing as we prefer it but it is not needed here. The site is well drained and even after heavy rain there's no chance of getting stuck. This site will definitely become a regular stop on our list.

What a fantastic little site. We are new to caravanning and received a friendly welcome on arrival. We couldn't unhook the caravan from the car and the owner kindly assisted, our electric cable stopped working and the owner, again helped out and lent us a replacement. The gas ran out and we didn't have an adjustable spanner and so he helped out yet again. Nothing was too much trouble and he even came to ensure we had the caravan hooked up properly to the car prior to us leaving. You couldn't possibly ask for a nicer, friendlier and helpful welcome. The site was small and compact but well kept and lovely and clean and tidy. The shower was lovely and hot and the shower blocks were lovely and clean. We would definitely visit again and really recommend this site.

This is a lovely site and ideal for a stopover travelling north. We stayed just one night on our way to Scotland and arrived in driving rain at 8pm. The owner came out to meet us and couldn't have been more helpful. He was getting soaked but directed us to our pitch and made sure we had hooked up correctly before he left us. The showers and toilets were really clean. The best we came across during our holiday. I can't really say much about the surrounding area as we only stayed one night but we've been told that the village pub is worth a visit. We are booking again for next May and will be trying it then.

Agree with all that has been said before - a lovely little campsite with very friendly owner. Picked this at the last minute as an overnight stop whilst travelling north.

Ideal for overnight stop if travelling north\south. Spotlessly clean. Imagine in height of season it could get very busy.

Had dinner in the pub in the village - it was okayish but wouldn't return.

There was also a restaurant nearby which we didn't look at.

Just stayed a couple of nights midweek without booking and no problem. Site is well laid out with hook ups within easy reach and drinking water taps plentiful. Loos and showers very clean and heated. Very useful information hut.

Owners pleasant and very helpful. A 5 minute walk to a couple of pubs and a short busride to Bedale for a couple of pound.

RAF Leeming nearby but they don't fly at night, but you may be unlucky and get a wake up call from them at about 8 in the morning (but not really a problem). Did not notice the nearby A1 motorway.

Nice little site and would go back again.
