Visited this site this weekend and we thought it was a lovely site. Very quiet and peaceful plenty of space for tents. There is limited toilet facilities but we expected this, they were very clean and well kept. The shop on site doesn't sell all the basic essentials you need,so I suggest you take bread, toiletries and most other things you might think about buying when you get there, it is not a quick walk to the local shop.
This aside it is a very nice place to stay and we will not hesitate coming back knowing what we need to take.
There is no local bus ride into ingoldmells so you either have a good 3/4 miles walk or overpriced taxi ride.
If you have small children I suggest you take toys or games to keep them occupied as there is no playground just fields and fishing lakes.
This is a fishermans dream campsite.
Overall we enjoyed our stay.

We arrived at the site and the reception we received was perfect, the lady was polite, helpful and couldn't do enough. The site is really quiet and well maintained.
The touring site is outside the main barrier so security is not too good, all the people who work there are really helpful and considerate. Had a walk round the lake and all the fishermen said there was plenty of good fish to catch.
The down side with this site is the toilet block, it is bad, I can only describe the mens toilets, one toilet for all the site, two tiny showers and a couple of sinks. There is no where to wash pots yet enough grass to accommodate 100 tents and 20 caravans.
This site is ideal for piece and tranquillity but we won't be going back until some one decides to do some thing about the loos.

Lovely caravan/campsite. Well kept grounds and lake. Reasonable rates. Good fishing. Stayed in a 2 bedroom static caravan with my family. Friends joined us for a few nights and camped on the site. They were impressed with the site and facilities. Quiet site, several miles from nearest village, 6 miles out of Skegness. To be honest it was so peaceful we could've been anywhere! - which suited us fine. Will return.

For the price it is a very good site, nice and peaceful, there is nothing for kids to do but what it costs you would just use it as a base anyway.
It's about a 10 min drive into Skegness so a car would be needed.
The only down side is the toilets.
The male toilets were usable if you managed to get in there just after they had been cleaned. The ladies weren't as good(apparently).
The showers were again just usable but hopefully now that the season is coming to an end they give them a good deep clean.
All things considered we would stop there again and even possibly recommend it to a select few.

Having just returned from our stay over the bank holiday weekend, I am surprised at the earlier reviews. As a family with young children we found the toilet/shower facilities to be the worst we have ever experienced, with only a small portacabin with just three toilets and four (very small) showers servicing the whole of the tourer and tent pitches, hence the level of hygiene left a lot to be desired. With no on-site facilities for pot washing and no shop to speak of, anymore than a two day stay would have been pushing it. This is a shame, as the pitches were spacious and level and it is well placed for skegness, sutton-on-sea etc. There were also a number of touring caravans that were on ill-maintained permanent pitches, many of these were 'For Sale' and appeared to have seen better days, this did not enhance the appearance of the site. The noise levels were also very high with large groups of campers showing very little respect for other families around them - although we accept we could have just been unlucky this weekend. I do however, agree that the owners were extremely friendly and helpful but their priorities lay with the static caravan/fishing community on-site, at the expense of tourers/tents. To say it was a bank-holiday weekend the tent field was nearly empty, this may be due to peoples reluctance to return. This is a shame, as a bit of money spent modernising the facilities would realise the potential of this site.

What a dreadful place this is,
I have never stayed at a campsite like it,
So so disgusting, the showers toilets elsan dep oh my god.
I will be putting a serious complaint in ti the c&c club.
And flies oh my god there was everywhere we spent ponds and ponds on fly traps.
The showers and loos was in a portakabin, they sed there was other a £1 per shower, and was in a brick built outer place just dreadful.

Didn't think much to this site, noisy people at night, kids playing football around the caravans and dogs around the fishing lake when a sign clearly said no dogs, needless to say we wont be going there again. Sycamore lakes is far better!

Came back again for bank holiday just to do some decent fishing with a few of me mates. For 3 years the toilet blocks have been the same, very very well looked after and same goes for the site I would recommend to all campers out there, even me mates are coming back without me!

We visited this site last August and for the second time at Easter and it is a great location between Skegness and Ingoldmells, the site is very clean and tidy. Fishing is great, the lake is well stocked with large and small fish, I will be visiting again in the future.

We've just got back from this site, having stayed for three nights. I have no idea what the owners are like, as I booked for a pair of pitches and our friends arrived first, no one bothered to 'pop' round and check we'd arrived! Total confusion over the booking, although I rang first, emailed next and sent a letter to confirm. ! We were put in what appeared to be a new field, and the previous weather wasn't their fault, but it did mean we had to be towed on. On the second evening we were treated to torrential rain, which caused even more trouble, again not their fault but a flying visit to check we were still alive would have gone down well, the centre of the field was completely flooded. We were confined to the tent except to visit the poor facilities, double portaloos with stupid 6 figure codes are not necessary surely? Try remembering that with a five year old at 3 in the morning! We also felt that these toilets/showers were not enough considering the size of the site and the amount stopping there. They are doing a lot of work to the premises, and I know things take time, but without an apology or concern from the owners we felt it wasn't worth risking it again. We had nowhere to wash up, and no office could be found to get details of local events etc, it has good hook ups, no playground and a lot of mud, sorry to the next people who have to be pushed off! An easy going site, who didn't mind our having three children and two cars, but I think you get what you pay for, and this site was cheap.
