 Gear Farm is just wonderful - from the warm & friendly welcome, meticulously clean facilities and stunning views, it is everything my family love about camping.
I am not sure who wrote the review from last year but please do not let it put you off as it nearly did me. The 'busy road' is a quiet leafy lane. I can't see how they could have 'misinterpreted' the facilities - this campsite has lovely hot showers, a delicious Farm Shop/Deli on site, a Fridge/Freezer for you to keep food in, washing up liquid with quality sponges/brushes for you to use and I really appreciated the effort they had gone to to make it so easy for you to recycle.
This is way beyond the level of most other campsites and at £8 per adult per night we thought it was a bargain.

Firstly had to send a non-refundable deposit to book 4 days for my family at this site. Once got there found that it was hugely misrepresented. No children's playground, the two showers and washing up area are situated on the other side of a busy road to the camping pitches, which is no good if you have kids. Very expensive compared to other sites in the area, or indeed in the rest of Cornwall we came across. Helston about 5 miles drive away. Next time we go down, we intend just to cruise around and find a campsite when we arrive as there are a vast number of sites - just need to choose which part of the county you want to be based in.
