First impressions as we arrived was how pretty the entrance was and how much it reminded us of a site we'd visited in the Loire!
The owner was friendly. The campsite was lush and green with lots of tall trees which made it quite sheltered. The facilities were good. They were kept clean and the radio was a nice touch. Only 2 showers mean there's a queue at peak times!
There is a small heated pool which the kids found especially useful on cold wet days.
Overall I'd say this is a great value site and I very much recommend it. We will return!

A fantastic site that contributed to a brilliant holiday.
The owner, Steve, was concerned when I booked two pitches that he could only offer the overflow field with no electric. He added that it was a short walk to the main toilet block although there were some portable loos in the field. To me this is what camping involves and I jumped at the offer. We had pitches 4&5 in the top corner and as a party of 4 adults, 4 kids and a dog it was the perfect location.
The main field was much busier and when we return it will definitely be to the overflow field and hopefully the same pitches as this visit.
The site itself is well placed for exploring the West of Cornwall. Everything of note seems about 30-40 mins. On the site the toilets and showers are spotless and rarely seemed overcrowded. The on site pool was excellent for the kids and was well used in the afternoons / early evenings as people returned from days out.
In my opinion this is a well maintained, well located, clean, tidy, friendly campsite that in todays climate offers good value for money. I will definitely return here in the future and would encourage others to give it a go. No-one in our party was disappointed.

A nice quiet site once the children had gone home. Well situated for beaches and the towans at Hayle.
I only have 2 minor gripes about this site. The owners dog can wander around the site as it wishes, that's okay but we saw it doing it's business in the sand pit and on the grass. As a dog owner I was put off by this as it gives dog owners a bad name and as the owner doesn't see it there is no one to clean it up. Take your own dog and it has to be on a lead at all times.
The other minor gripe was the owners cat. We had left our door open on the motorhome while we were sat out front having a snooze in the sun, when I went in the cat was curled up on the seats, very nice if you like cats which I don't it smelled and left cat hair on the seat no good when you have an allergy.
The toilet block was clean and the free showers lovely and warm.
There is a play area for the kids and an indoor swimming pool which was warm.

We have just returned from a last minute 5 night break to Treglisson. We called the night before, after spending much time trying to get in contact with other local campsites who wouldn't answer the phone! As we were travelling from Shropshire we didn't want to take the risk and just arrive at a campsite, we wanted to book first.
As fairly well seasoned campers, we know what we want from a campsite. The toilets and showers have to be very clean, the site fairly quiet and no static homes or bar/entertainment shack etc.
Our request to arrive the next day was accepted without issue, and when we arrived at around lunchtime after a rather hot and long 5 hour car ride we were greeted by Poppy, the owners dog, woofing in our general direction.
We met Steve the owner, who showed us to our pitch, but gave us the option of two or three which was nice. He explained the facilities on the site, then left us to it.
The site is on a slight slope, but nothing awful and certainly didn't require propping things up to level them out.
Our pitch was quiet and secluded in a corner by a hedge at the bottom of the site which is accessed by a long, well signed, gated lane from the main road. The pitch was of a good size, with electric hook up if we wanted it. We took a 6 man Vango Icarus 600 and we would've had space for an awning and our Punto if necessary.
The site wasn't full during our visit, but had a nice mixture of age ranges and everyone was very polite, we were even able to help out another camper who was having a disaster with her air bed.
There is a pool on site, which big and little kids seemed to enjoy, and also a small shed containing a wealth of tourist information leaflets, guides and maps for the local area which we found really useful.
The free showers and toilets were well maintained and clean, although the lack of light in the bathrooms in the morning was a bit of a pain - a small gripe, nothing major.
There were good washing up facilities, hot running water at all times along with drainers and washing up bowls.
All in all a great, and fairly inexpensive (£13.50 p/n) site which served as a good base for visiting the local area.

We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of our holiday.
The site is very well organised. The pitches are quite large and seem to be packed fairly closely while still leaving enough space that it doesn't look totally over crowded.
Most of the caravans in the main field seemed settled in for the whole summer. The play area was popular but seemed to have a large 'gang' of children running wild well into the night.
The swimming pool was small but warm. The kids didn't seem to mind the size.
Fortunately, we were in the smaller field. There is a 'portaloo' there for emergencies and easy access to the main toilets which were clean and modern.
The site is close to the shops and easy access to the beaches.
The biggest drawback for me was the 'well organised' part. Often when we stay at smaller sites there is no problem if you leave your canvas up to dry or if you leave your trailer out of the way but this seemed a major issue so we left Cornwall early and had to dry the canvas at home.

This is our third year at Treglisson, unfortunately the weather let us down badly this year. It's a lovely small site although some of the pitches slightly slope. Facilities are basic but clean, with free showers - 2 in the ladies block and 2 in the mens block. They also provide a free hairdryer in the shower block and free washing powder in the launderette.
Small indoor heated swimming pool which keeps the kids happy after a day at the beach. In the middle of the park is a play area - swings, slide and large sand pit. This site is suited to families with smaller children as no entertainment for teenagers. Dogs are allowed on site, and lots of walking areas around to keep them happy - lots of rabbits to chase.
Plenty of takeaways a short drive away, with 2 supermarkets also nearby. Hayle itself has not got much to offer, but the surrounding beaches are well worth a visit, long golden sandy bays.

We visited this site for our 2nd ever camping trip with a group of 7 familes, some with children some without. We were situated on the overflow field, which we were fine on.
The site was fine for the children, with a small park which is located on the main field and a small indoor swimming pool which I didn't use, but the children and adults seem to enjoy although I believe it was a little cool.
The shower block was clean with a hair dryer and never had to queue for a shower. On the overflow field there was a porta loo, which at the beginning of the week was fine, no problems, but with all porta loos they are the most luxurious of things and got a bit smelly towards the end of the week.
The site was nice enough, and to be honest the overflow was better for playing games with all the families as you could spread out and allowed us to do all sorts from skipping with a huge rope to hosting our own mini Olympics with about 16 in our party.
The site was quiet and no rowdy families and was very safe even for our at the time 10 month old son. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer facility at the site and also a freezer to freeze ice packs if you have no electric hook up.
The owner was friendly enough, and we booked to go again in 2010 but had to postpone until 2011 and rang the owner 5 days before and he was absolutely fine. We are unable to take our tent on the main site as due to the size, but we will be fine on the overflow pitch and he was happy for us to pick our pitch.
The site is fantastic base to discover cornwall, and is only a short drive to St Ives and Penzance. You have to drive to hayle as it would be a bit of a tred, but 5 minutes away there is a Co op and Lidl, and the beaches in Hayle are fantastic you just have to watch the tides coming in.
We cannot wait until 2011 to visit again!

Lovely site up the hill from Hayle. Well spaced out pitches, clean toilets and showers.Could be busy but just go out of the peak times! Covered Swimming Pool, great for kids and a small play area.
Couple of mins drive to supermarket and chippy!or a 15 min walk!
Close to St Ives and the coast. We drove to railway station and got the train, lovely scenic ride.Good surf beaches at Godrevy.
We were in the second field which seemed to be a lot quieter than the main field with tourers.

Small secluded site surrounded by trees with a central play area for children. Well maintained and clean.
Two of us spent 8 nights here with a small tent and no car and enjoyed our stay. It took us about 30 to 40 minutes to walk up the hill to the site from Hayle, going via minor roads and farm tracks. A pleasant route with plenty of wild flowers in bloom by the road sides when we there in late June.
No shops near the site but we were able to buy all we needed in Hayle. Used a 7 day bus ticket to travel around Cornwall and found Hayle to be a good base to do this from. Taxis available from Hayle if needed.

This was our 2nd visit to Treglisson and was just as nice as the 1st visit. We were very lucky both times with the weather which definitely helped.
The site is run by Steve, a really nice ex-teacher, and is kept pretty spotless. On our first visit he even invited us up to the B&B for coffee after we had extreme cold weather at night (it was April and we had snow at home 2 days before we went) to warm ourselves up. What a thoughtful man! In fact we actually checked in to the B&B for the weekend which is beautiful and he cooks a mean breakfast.
The facilities are small but very clean and the showers are free. My only criticism would be that there was no heating, so if the weather is cold and the windows are left open it's a bit nippy having a shower. That said, this isn't a huge problem unless you are camping out of the main season.
We didn't use the pool, but it is small but perfectly formed and great for kids. As is the play area - which is brilliant for children and well thought out complete with sand pit.
This is in a lovely rural location yet has close access to the A30 to get anywhere. There is a fantastic fish & chip shop down the hill towards Hayle, but be warned they open odd hours but think that is because of the location. We are used to living in a town where chip shops open all evening not 5-7ish. Best fish & chips for miles around though!
This is a beautiful campsite run by a very nice couple and I can't recommend it enough, especially out of school hols. Be sure to book though if you want to go in school hols though as it does get booked up by regulars due to it being so good. I confess that I hesitated putting this review on because we like it and don't want everyone else to know about it! See for yourself.
