This is a great value little site. The toilet blocks are clean, showers are free (though warm rather than hot) and there is even a free hairdryer in both male and female rooms. There is a laundry room, soap powder is provided free of charge, the washing machine does a quick 32 minute wash so no need to hang around for hours.
The swimming pool is great for keeping the kids happy when they tire of the swings and sand pit. Loads of tourist info leaflets available on site too.

It’s not a hard site to find if you can read a road map and well worth the first impression you get when you drive up the path of an old stone farm house and buildings. The site is small and perfectly formed, shaped a little like the letter p. You want to be in the circular bit if you have young kids and in the tail if you want something more private and sedate. If you do not get the bit you want, it’s not going to waste your holiday.
The owner was a bit gruff, when first met, but a rough diamond when it comes to site owners. Plus it had been raining for two weeks and he was covering the majority of the work on his own.

Pitches were a reasonable size; ours fitted a large tent, room for a car, eating area and a bit more. Next door seemed to have trouble getting their guy ropes into their pitch, but most pitches seemed a good size, with some larger.

The toilet block was clean and modern, all the showers worked. I never had to wait, or had trouble with hot water, but that would have been about 6.30 each morning. Washing up, there were only 2 sinks, but you could see them from most tents, so could go when you felt like it, or just go up and wait your turn and sit about and smile.

The pool does not look impressive, but it is fantastic for our weather and a great depth for 6 year olds and upwards learning to swim, or just brushing up their style. The size could get a little claustrophobic if it’s raining and everyone decides a nice swim is in order, but for quick dip after a hot day in the car coming back from yet another place of historic interest, hits the mark. Because it’s in a poly tunnel it has many uses, a hot room if you are feeling a bit chilled or stiff or a great place to get the kids swimwear dried off quick for their 4th immersion in water that day.

Most of the pitches look onto a reasonable sized play area. There are swings, a sand pit and a few other things for kids to play on and enough grass for few games and a picnic.

Overall it’s a good family site, especially with young toddlers, if they were all teenagers; it could be a different story.

There is no camp shop, not a major problem if you organise a little bit. In an emergency you can always borrow enough milk for tea. There are 2 supermarkets less than 10 minutes drive, a mare of a road to cross, but really a small price to pay for what this camp site has to offer. I would easily go back and there is still more placed of significant historic interest in the area to see.

Nice site, nice owner, Steven Reeves really looks after the site and it pays off. Very reasonable. Shops about 1 mile, take away too, golf, walks etc. Station 2 miles giving access to Cornwall. Pool in polythene tunnel provides children's fun. Regulars welcoming and helpful.

This really is a super site. We had to wait for a vacancy, but in all our dealings with Steve during this time he was brilliant, and contacted us as soon as he had one. The site is small and friendly, well located for beaches (take an OS map for some cracking little coves you may not otherwise find), shops, golf, station and so on.
Above ground heated pool in poly tunnel great for the kids and a splash around. Loos and showers clean. Laundry room and freezer for visitors use (washing powder provided!)Steve maintains the site beautifully, bins always emptied, and care given to grass and general surroundings. Kids made friends and kept in touch, all meeting up again this year.
We had to book for this year before we left last time, but were happy to do so as we had a good time. A genuine site, not a rip off in the summer either.

:-) Dont change a thing!

Just come back from this wonderful campsite where the owners were friendly and helpful. The site is well maintained with a central play area which we thought would be a little too young for our 12yr old, but there happened to be a mix of ages around and they soon made up their own games around the area.
We had 5 children with us from 6-12yrs and all were very happy in the pool and out.
We would gladly revisit although we only live locally! Thankyou.

A great site if you do not want noise late into the early hours. A tidy, clean, well organized site. More suitable we feel for families with children under 10 years. Steve the owner was always around if you needed him and lawn and bins etc were always managed well. A great place for it's location and price. Situated near supermarkets, chip shop, local town Hale 5 minutes drive away. Also not too far from St.Ives which we would go to in the evenings.
Only a few bad points really: The swimming pool. Although it was great for the children and they loved it, I did have to make them avoid it when I found that inside the tunnel-tent it did seem rather dirty and could have done with a clean.
Also the pitches we found were very close together in certain areas, mainly along the path leading onto the other field. If these two things were better we would have returned again.

We stayed here for 8 nights at the end of the season and would recommend it to everybody. It is a nice site with all the amenities that you need, plus an indoor pool and play area to keep the kids occupied if you stay on site. If you want nightlife and entertainment then this is not the site for you, but if you want a friendly, peaceful and well run site then here it is.

It's close to the supermarket in Hayle and is within half an hour's drive of plenty of attractions, such as Flambards and the Seal Sanctuary.

We had a nice holiday and will be going back again next year.

When we initially came across this site we liked the look of it but were a little unsure about it, partly due to the lack of reviews. After talking to Steve, the owner on the telephone we decided to book.
On arrival we immediately realised that we had made the right choice. This is a small & very friendly family site bordered by trees that protect it from the wind. There is a gentle slope to some of the pitches but nothing that you can't cope with. The pitches are situated around the edge of the site with the play area in the middle. This was ideal for the kids (5 & 3yrs) as they could play quite safely whilst always remaining in view. The swimming pool was excellent and is much larger than it looks in the photo's.
The owners are very friendly and put in a lot time & effort looking after the site.

Facilities were always clean & tidy. There is a laundry room & use of a chest freezer for your ice blocks. There is no shop on site, but that doesn't bother us as sometimes a shop can be a distraction to the kids & we just picked up a paper on the way to the beach. There's a decent sized coop store in hayle for all your supplies. Also there is a Lidls at the bottom of the road (about a mile) and also a decent chip shop.

Don't let the inland position put you off, it's only 5 minutes to the excellent beaches of Hayle & Gwithian. If your a National Trust member go to the beach at Godrevy as its free parking for members and the beach is great for kids with rock pools and large areas of sand.

If you fancy a day away from the beach take the kids to flambards at helston about 10 miles away (use your Tesco deal tokens). A good day out for all (adults inc).

Now we've used this site we can see why there weren't many reviews. Everyones been keeping it for themselves. Many people we spoke to go back year after year. If you do fancy staying here then book early.

Part of me wants to keep this site to myself but we have had such a great holiday I can't help talking about it. This site was everything we look for in a place to stay, our two young children have had a fantastic time which was aided by the way the site was laid out. Most of the pitches circle a large play area with a great sand pit so you can keep an eye on what they are up to with out being on top of them all the time. This meant that it was a really good social space for children to play my eldest boy seems to have grown in confidence no end. At times it was difficult to persuade him to leave the play area to go to the beach!
The facilities were clean and water hot, any problems were sorted out quickly by Steve the owner who was always approachable and happy to help. This is a small peaceful site away from pubs, clubs and rowdy entertainment so not much point going here if that's the sort of thing your looking for in a holiday. We would definitely return to this site, in fact we are already planning a return visit.

Agree with previous comments, this is a fantastic little gem of a site. It is friendly (without being intrusive), the facilities are clean and nothing is too much trouble for the owner, who lives in the farm house on site.

I should mention that apart from the usual facilities there is only a pool (inside a plastic tunnel) and a childrens play area, so its make your own entertainment.

The park is situated a mile or so outside Hayle and about 2 miles from the nearest beaches (there are many to choose from).

If you are looking for a quiet family site , then this is it.
