I can't speak highly enough about this site. I agree with everything that the previous person has said. The people and the animals were all so friendly. The peace and quiet was amazing. We loved the animals, Tifany the dog and all of the farm animals. I did not think that it was possible to be so isolated and yet only 3 miles from Wem. Having all the facilities that we need in our van meant that we were not at all discouraged by the basic ammenities. Electric hookup was fine and we had no problems at all, except we did not want to leave. We have promised to go back soon and we just can't wait.

A haven of tranquility! Set in beautiful countryside, away from all major roads, located in the midst of winding country lanes. We consider this site a real find for those who like nothing more than getting away from it all! A complete absence of noise including traffic. The weekend we visited we were the only family there, but we were made extremely welcome by the owners. Over and above the call of duty, they chatted to us freely and their daughter befriended our daughters who were invited into the house to play! A lovely warm genuine family who made us feel very much at home and taught us a fair bit about the harsh reality of running a small farm today.
A working farm, full of simple rustic charm, we both agreed we could have been in rural France as opposed to only an hour down the road in Shropshire. We were given complete freedom to explore the farm. We were delighted to find that the ducks, hens and geese really did come right up to the caravans (probably in pursuit of food!). The children were delighted to find a baby rabbit out on the lawn on arrival, the Basset Hound lazing in the farmyard and beautiful calves in the cow sheds, which they were invited to feed. An added bonus was the fresh farm eggs for breakfast which the chidren had seen being laid. All in all a most remarkable and unforgettable weekend - a beautiful experience! We will be back often and only hope that there will be space for us after this review!
P.s. Our children were 8,6 and 3 years at the time of visit. Perfectly safe and a delight for them to discover a real working farm as opposed to the many tourist attraction "working farms" that we have in Cheshire. Facilities (1 shower, washbasin & toilet) basic but adequate. Plenty of hot water no extra charge. But not for those who like plush all-singing-all dancing facilities!

May 2004 Nice peaceful site. Very friendly owners (offered coffee on arival). Basic but clean facilities. Kids loved all the friendly animals, bassett hound, cat with kittens, duck, chickens, all came to visit us outside the tent. Perfect if you want a quiet, relaxing break. We didn't want to come home, and will definately be going back soon.
