A fantastic site close to the coast path. Great wardens, flat pitches where we had the sun all day long. Good dog walk and dog friendly beach close by. Buses stop at site entrance that will take you to St Just or Lands End, no charge for dogs. Dated but spotlessly clean amenities block. Fab fish & chip van visits on a Monday. Will definitely return to this site, one of the best

We pulled in here for one night whilst touring Cornwall. We had driven in to the site previously, but on that occasion it was very busy, so we left. This time thought it was nice and quiet and we had a very friendly greeting the wardens. It was also before the club directed check-in time of 1pm, but the wardens were thankfully flexible about this.
It was a very foggy Cornish couple of days so we didn’t get to see the views, but were told they were very nice! There's a footpath from the site which takes you down to the Coastpath and beach, so we got a nice walk in.
The facilities were very clean and tidy and site was well kept. There was an on site dog exercise area for the late night trip. The on-site shopped stocked some basics.
At the time of year, the site was nice, quiet and relaxing which is just what we were after.

My partner myself and Lucie our Parsons Jack Russell have just returned from a 4 night stay at the Sennen Cove site, the site itself is lovely, maintained to a high standard and very clean. There is a large field with hard standings situated on the road (which is strictly one way) surrounding the large field, the grass is like a bowling green and flat, the pitches are all marked out for the 6m rule
On our arrival we were met by friendly member of staff and was offered a pitch but he joked don't ask for a sheltered spot as they don't exist. We soon found this to be very true, the winds here can be very strong even in good weather while we we there 2 tents had to leave, we waited until our fifth night and as the wind was due to drop we decided to move on to our next site in Bude earlier than planned, so my advice is, if your in a tent be aware. The staff were excellent and arranged for us to transfer our 2 nights lost here to Bude site another C&C site so we didn't lose any money at all, a fantastic help. On the other hand if you are in a mobile home or caravan I cannot fault it. The shower area is very clean and of a good standard, there are numerous showers, sinks toilets etc but they are closed for cleaning from 10. 30am – 12. 00pm. The washing up area is small and indoors There is wifi on site which yo have to pay for but is accessible in all areas of the site
The site is close to Sennen Cove and provides a lovely, if steep, walk down to the cove along the path. There is a reasonable dog walking area at the front of the site.
The gate is locked at 11. 00pm until 7. 00am but this signed and therefore I don't think is an issue.
The nearest shop is a Costcutter in Sennen and there is a Sainsbury and Morrisons in Penzance a short drive away. Over all the site is excellent and cannot be blamed for the weather, but if you are in a tent it is very open so if it is windy you will feel its full force. Hope this helps

We've just 'reluctantly' returned home after 13 nights stay. We were blessed with mostly fantastic weather and only had a day and a half of wet weather and a couple of days which were really windy.
We arrived and were met by the assistant managers who were very friendly, we were give a choice of 2 pitches as we had electrics and we were on pitch 53. The main camping field had pitches all around the edges with grass and hard standings and grass pitches in the middle where you could apparently pitch anywhere so long as your electric cable could reach the hook up. Our pitch was on the back row facing the sea, the field behind us was for non EHU. There were more campervans and caravans compared to tents but there was plenty of space between each unit.
The managers were also very friendly and helpful and will help you if you need assistance setting up your camp or anything else.
The site is very open and exposed and you can see for miles around as the site is up high compared to Sennen Cove Beach so usually there is a sea breeze on the site. Saying this, there is no shelter/shade so if you are on the back row the sun will be on you until it sets around 9. 30pm June/July so can be very hot.
Site was very quiet when we went and hardly any children were on site, but we did go end of June/July before kids broke up from school for summer. There is a little play area on the main field.
The site has a toilet blocks with wash rooms and next door are the showers and are separate for men and women. Washing room and dryer and pot washing area as well as the usual chemical disposal unit.
The toilet/shower blocks are closed daily from 10. 30am - 12pm which we did find to be a pain but not that much as the site was quiet and you can use the disabled toilet/facilities while the other blocks are being cleaned. I don't know what impact this will have during busy periods. I staggered my shower times and never had to queue. There are only 3 showers and you don't have to pay for them! (Assume the boys also had 3 showers). All were very clean as well as the site. Some mornings I did find it a rush if I wanted a shower before we went out.
The site does have Wifi and you can by vouchers for Wifi. I took my ipad which had various iplayers loaded on to it as well as Sky Go/Movies if you want to use wifi for TV depending on how long you stay, you can get a weeks voucher @ £10 or a years voucher @ £20. I bought the weeks voucher and it lasted me 4 days! If you're on O2 and have a smart phone, you'll lose your 3G signal on site and it'll be slow. Hubby had a 3 mobile and it worked perfectly with 3G.
If you're active you can cycle or walk locally near the site and there is a dog walking route on site. We went to the beach most days and Sennon Cove is beautiful but there is a very very steep hill to the car parks on the bottom but you can park all day right next to the beach. The beach is patrolled by the NRLI. It also has a cafe that according to hubby does the best hot dogs he's ever tasted.
The office is also a little shop where you can order newspapers for the next day but you can either go into Sennen to Costcutter or St Just for the Co-op. In Penzance there is a Tesco, Sainsbury's and a Morrison's all within close proximity of each other with their own petrol stations which are cheaper than local garages. Sainsbury's does a fab cheap breakfast and has an outside area that overlooks St Michael's Mount. Penzance has plenty of high street shops like Boots, Body Shop, Icelands and Costa Coffee etc and a car park located near to the entrance. As like most of Cornwall, lots of hills in and out of the town.
A fish and chip van visits the site twice a week, they cook to order and it's all fresh, you don't wait longer than 20 mins but that depends on how many campers place their order before you. There is also a fruit seller that walks around selling his fruit, again I think he visits twice a week but notices up in reception will tell you when both will visit. I did find the fruit expensive compared to Sainsbury's but it was from a local farm and had been picked that day so really was fresh.
The local airport near the camp site flies to the Silly Isles several times a day. Towards the end of our stay it had closed so the runway could be maintained.
We enjoyed our visit so much we stayed on for an extra week. There are loads of places to visit and lots of beaches/coves to be found. It ranks as one of the best camping trips we've ever had in the UK. It did help that we had mainly fab weather. Lands End was better than I expected.
Only grumble I had being in a tent, was the dryer. It is £1. 00 for 20 mins and I washed jeans and after 40 mins they were still damp. I'll definitely be taking a washing line with me next time as I had to hand damp washing on the guy ropes.
I would highly recommend this site if you want a quiet and relaxing holiday with beautiful scenery.
**Please be aware when you drive out of the site and want to turn right towards the A30, cars coming from the left don't slow down coming around the corner!

Arrived late September in glorious sunny weather. We didn't book and turned up to find site quite busy, very popular with motorhomers.
As soon as we pulled up we fell in love with this site, just our sort of place - not too big with stunning sea views. Mixture of grass and hardstanding pitches. Site is very well looked after, so much so that you would never have thought it was coming to the end of their season - even the stone chippings were like new and the 4 wardens were constantly milling around doing things. Received a very warm welcome and everything explained thoroughly, given a choice of pitches. We opted for a hardstanding, but even the grass was immaculate so no problems for motorhomes getting stuck here.
Toilets & showers - small blcok near reception. They are a little dated but extremely clean and coated with fresh white paint, they were kept clean for the duration of our stay.
We were very lucky with the weather - blessed with blue skies & sunshine every day and this site offers the most wonderful sunrises and sunsets as the coast is so narrow down here. From our pitch we had distant views of the Scilly Isles and at night you could hear the distant crashing of waves down on the beach. You do get some aircraft noise from Land's End airport (which you can see from the site) but this is not constant & they are only light aircraft.
Lovely big dog walk. Small play area on site.
St Just up the road ideal for small shops - has butchers, bakers, chip shop, co-op. Penzance a few miles away has Tesco on the outskirts & ideal for motorhome owners as no overhead barrier.
To sum up - really nice little site that is lovingly cared for by the resident wardens. If you want peace & quiet with panoramic sea views then this is the site for you (bear in mind we had beautiful weather, site exposed so in wet/wind it may be different) We are definitely returning, perfection for us.

This site is ideally situated to explore Western Cornwall and that is why we stayed here! After a friendly welcome we were escorted to our pitch in the lee of the overgrown wall at the furthest end of the site. This is quite a small site so the furthest end is not too far from the facilities.
The reception is also a small shop which stocks essentials and will order fresh bread and newspapers.
The toilet / shower facilities are in the same block and are clean and adequate. I disagree with some other reviewers comments that the quantity is not sufficient. This is a small site and the ratio of toilets / showers to units compares favourably with other sites. The washing up area is undercover, next door to the laundry.
The main field is generally flat and level and well groomed. There appears to be 2 overspill camping areas (no EHU) which are less groomed but OK nonetheless. The ground is firm and appears to be well drained. Pegs went in easily. There is a small play area near the centre of the field. Some children having a kick around in the camping field were politely told to go into an adjacent play field.
The fish & chip van mentioned in the C&CC book made an appearance on Monday and Thursday, but was not tried. Did not see the visiting butcher or strawberry man mentioned in the book. One inaccuracy in the book is that they don't freeze ice blocks. Their freezer is too small (yes it is a small freezer) but they will sell you a frozen block. This was the only slight irk. We got around this problem with a daily bag of ice from Morrisons in Penzance, about 15 minutes away. There is also a 24 hour Tesco which was not used.
Lands End is an obvious attraction and there are plenty of other sights worth a look. National Trust or English Heritage members will not be short of something to do. A less obvious attraction is the Minack Theatre - this is well worth seeking out. We were lucky enough to get tickets for a sell out play. Superb venue if theatre is your thing.
In summary, the site and the area lived up to expectations. 7 hours drive and not ending up somewhere in France was a novel experience but we are glad we made the effort.

This was my second visit to Sennen Cove, the last being by motorcycle in 2006. Both times I've been blessed with good weather - bonus!
I have no negative comments about the site at all, welcome is good, staff are good, bus stop is handy, a small Costcutter shop is only one mile away (30 minute round trip on foot) and the twice-weekly fish & chip van serves really good fare, especially the locally-caught hake - it's to die for!
The facilities I found to be perfectly adequate and clean although this seems to be a bone of contention with other reviewers. (Most of these 'moaners' already have a shower and a toilet in their motorhome, touring caravan or campervan - why don't they use them?)
All-in-all a thoroughly pleasant site and I shall return as soon as possible.

My wife and I stayed here for 8 nights over the bank holiday, Queens jubilee period. The meet and greet on arrival from Simon and Keith was second to none. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they were extremely helpful at all times.
The only thing that stops this site getting a higher rating from us is that it needs more shower, toilet, washing up facilities at busy times.
If you want a traditional quality site without bars, clubhouses, hoards of screaming kids etc, then this is the place to come.
The tourist bus that stops right outside the campsite entrance is ideal for getting around all the attractions. In fact if you want to walk the coast path it will drop you off or pick you up anywhere which is ideal.
We loved this informal, traditional campsite very much and would recommend it to anyone.

In my opinion, this site is not good value for its position and in comparison to other C&C club sites.
The site needs a new/additional facilities complex big enough for the number of pitches on site. They're not that clean either compared to other sites.
The site assistant was really helpful. OK for a few nights but not enough on offer in the locality if the weather turns.
The road to St Ives is nice, as is St Ives but I would advise on the park and ride by train.
Coastal walks are good but not suitable for small children.

When we arrived we were greeted by the site managers, very friendly and helpful. We had a choice of pitch. The site had a small shop selling bacon sausage, bread, papers, milk etc, those little things you always run out of. Bread and papers you had to order night before.
Facilities were very clean, lots of hot water. They closed daily for cleaning around 11. 30 for about an hour or so, but disabled was left open to use. Washing up area was clean and lots of hot water. Queues at busy times, so avoid washing up when everyone else is!
There were only 3 showers which others have pointed out. We stayed here for 2 weeks and I never queued once and the campsite was very busy.
Slide and swing play area for kids, dog exercise area, but the have to stay on the lead, but the beach is around 15 min walk where dogs are allowed and after 7. 30pm they can have a good run there. Beautiful views all round. Also ball area for kids.
The open top bus stops outside on the road of the site, both ways, check out the information area for latest deals, we had a family ticket unlimited travel for the day for less than £20, they had other offers on also.
A burger van calls Monday and Thursday, sells fish and chips, bacon butties, burgers etc. Not the best but it is a burger van and it was always busy, the kids enjoyed it. Butcher and strawberry man call round but the site manager lets you know if they are coming.
There is a post office with a shop and a costcutter about a mile away, 10 minutes drive in car. We had a lovely meal at the first and last pub in England, just a down the road from the post office, friendly pub. Menus are available on site just ask them.
A family day out to Lands End is recommended, there is plenty to do there for a day attractions, famous picture next to sign post you have to pay for, but once he's taken his you can take a few of your own. Play area for kids.
7 mile drive to Penzance shops and Tesco and Morrisons. Also from Penzance harbour they did daily fishing trips from £15 pp, bait and tackle included and coastal cruises. The Minack Theatre / Basking Shark cruise was excellent value for money, adult £18 pp child £12 for a 3 hour cruise. The Dolphin Tavern was a very nice place to eat.
You can also get the train to St Ives which is a lot quicker than the bus. The train station is next to the bus station.
At Sennon harbour there is the surf school and the RNLI.
Another good family day out and value for money was Porthcurno telegraph museum, it was £15 for a family ticket and lots of activities for the kids to do, well worth a visit.
We really enjoyed our stay on this site, it was a good location for a family holiday, stunning view of the sea and sun setting at night. We will be visiting this site again. The staff very approachable and friendly. Would recommend this site. Water points in easy access and chemical disposal point, motorhome service area, plenty of rubbish bins and also for dog waste. We could not find a fault with this site or the service we received, excellent value for money.
One recommendation is use a map not a sat nav to get places and for you members, read the hand book for finding the site, our tom tom took us on a wild DE-tour for an hour!
