We have just returned from Ivy Farm and although the weather wasn't very good the site was reasonable. The facilities on site were good, the Showers and Toilets were spotless with plenty of hot water and the site was in good order. We made good friends with a couple sited opposite however some of the other campers wouldn't even return 'Hello', some were downright snooty !.
The village Pub (The White Horse AA 4 Star) was lovely with excellent beer and a fine selection of meals, well worth a visit. The local shop however was extremely expensive with a poor selection of chilled foods and an inadequate supply of fresh produce and bread.
If you visit with a tent:
Don't. Have pitch number 1 as this is behind several bins (we were on pitch number 10)
Do. Make full use of the mobile Fish and Chip van that visits the site every Wednesday at 4:30, these are reputed to be the best in the area, we had some and boy were they good !.

Very friendly and well-run site. We spent a weekend here and really couldn't fault it. The location is great and the facilities are very clean, bright and well thought-out. The children really enjoyed the swimming pool area which has 2 pools, plus a smaller one for younger children and a pool with a small slide into it. All in all we had a great time and would recommend it highly.

Ivy Farm is definitely a family site, as we witnessed people of all ages enjoying themselves around the pools. We were lucky with the weather during our stay and many hours were spent in the pools. On our previous stay we found the White Horse in Overstrand to be the most unwelcome pub we had visited, but what a transformation now. Due to new ownership this eatery is excellent in everyway! This makes the ideal combination, a well run site with outstanding facilities and a fantastic freehouse within walking distance!

We have just arrived back from another great break at Ivy Farm. (3rd year running) and will be booking for next year. Fantastic little site, Lovely, friendly and really quite, no over crowding and with no clubs in site its a haven. Beautiful safe, clean pools fantastic for kids. It was to chilly for us to venture in but the kids didn't care and at 5 and 7 I would never normally allow them in a pool without an adult, but the little splash pools and the slide are so safe, sitting at the waterside chairs I felt completely relaxed. Toilets again were spotless. And lots of hot running water. My only little complaint would have to be the ice cream van that tours around the site every evening from anything between 7pm to 8.30pm booming out its song, this is a real pain when you have little ones just settling down for the night. Really nice walks to the beach and a local cliff top park which is great for kite flying. Highly recommended.

We have been coming to this site every year for ten years! We have a ten year old son and this is the campsite by which he (and we) judges all others. Previous comments left about this site give an accurate impression, but here is our take, solely as campers. There are cottages, static and touring caravans on the park, but the site never feels crowded as there are only 22 camping pitches divided between two small fields separated by young hedges. The ground is slightly sloping, but not really enough to worry about. The more level pitches are towards the pool/play area. There are two toilet blocks, one is fairly new, the other is clean, but uniquely average. The new one is near the pools and as a consequence the floor is nearly always wet and often grassy if the field has just been mowed. As previous comments noted, there is a no noise policy after ten, and this is pretty much kept to. There is a night warden on site and if he doesn't hear noisy campers it is because he is in his hut watching telly! If you tell him about noisome neighbours he will deal with it. Likewise noisy or rowdy older kids. I can honestly say we have never really had any noise at night which is one of the reasons we keep coming back. We hate road noise when we are camping and here there is little, or almost none. The main road at the top of the site, where the static caravans are is pretty quiet, as is the road leading past the site to the village. The site is very near the cliffs and there is almost always a cold wind blowing, that said the walk down to the beach is very quick, if somewhat hazardous due to cliff erosion. The village of Overstrand has a not particularly inviting pub, a post office and a shop and further down to the beach there is a really nice cafe. All of it has that slightly backwater, lost in time feel which we love. The owners are very friendly and as the site is always popular, we have learned to book many months ahead. Does it earn its stars? We think so.

We thought this campsite was really good. My first proper camping experience and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The camp was well laid out, the staff were friendly. The tent pitches were a really good size. It was too early in the year for the pool to be open and we didn't have any kids with us but the kids that were there certainly seemed to enjoy the play area. The shower blocks were clean and well equipped with plenty of hot water. It was only a short walk to the beach which was clean and sandy. There is a pub nearby in the village which unfortunately was closed for refurbishment when we were there. All in all we thought it was good value for money and will almost certainly go back agaiin.

Excellent site we have just booked our third year at this site. The toilets and showers were always clean and the village shop cannot be faulted. If problems are reported they are dealt with

A nice little site with approximately 20 pitches for tents split into 2 areas separated by mature hedges. Pitches are mainly level and very generous in size (we squeezed an Outwell Harford XL tent, a gazebo, pup tent and car onto ours). The swimming pools are great, kept the kids occupied for hours. I'm not sure this site is worthy of its 4* rating though. The play area was dominated by bigger kids staying in long-stay static caravans who seem to be very possessive over the equipment. The shower blocks always smelled of unclean toilets and the floor was often swimming with mud and water. Several times we used them soggy toilet paper was strewn all over the floor and I won't go into detail about what we found in one of the shower cubicles but it was disgusting.
There is supposedly a no noise policy after 10pm but this didn't stop a group on pitches 1 and 2 sitting outside talking and laughing loudly till half past midnight on one night, all within 20 yards of the warden in his cabin who did nothing. In general a reasonable little site but don't expect 4* quality. The cleanliness of the shower / toilet blocks is probably worse through the school holidays due to the large amount of children on site.

What a find, good pitches and excellent amenities. Access to the beach down a cliff walk which we didn't subject the little ones to. Safe and clean and peaceful with the strict noise control. Definitely recommend for a weekend away venue staff very friendly and helpful.

Waht a fantastic little site , we are short break tourer's. The only down side to this place were a couple who have a seasonal pitch in with the 18 or so touring pitches. Be warned these people do not like children and made us feel very uncomfortable during our stay, to the point that they were downright rude and aggresive towards me.How can you stop a 4 month baby from waking in the night wanting a feed , Im not talking about prolonged crying , just 5 mins bottle then sleep , apparently it woke they're dog up. This site otherwise is great , swimming pool for the whole family to enjoy , very clean facilities , 5 mins from a great beach , pubs and good shop nearby , we will return for a longer stay but will try to keep away from the pitch 14 in the touring field.
