We stayed here two nights and absolutely loved it. The whole area is so well looked after. There is a lovely lake behind the town which is beautifully kept, & the old harbour is quaint. Great value.

Good location, right on the shore. Most pitches are grass and slightly sloping. There are two toilet blocks which are kept spotless (they could be doing with up dating)only one shower in each block, was not a problem when we where there. There is a good kids play area (enclosed), our number one tester was not with us this trip so no opinion but the kids using it where having a great time. As mentioned in another revue there is a hike up steep steps to get to the shops or go the scenic route via the harbour. Some say the waves on the shore are soothing, I would say it is more like sleeping underneath a jumbo jet on full throttle, could be a problem for some. Will definitely be returning because there is so much to see/do in the area a long weekend is not enough. Beggars Belief Coffee Cove at the harbour well worth a visit, the Cullen Skink was lovely. Hook Line and Sinker in the village for fish and chips. P. S. Wish we had booked for the Portsoy boat festival but too late for that.

Been to site twice. With friendly wardens. Clean site. Toilets clean. It is next to the sea, long walks for the dog. The site in the town but you have to go up a hill(steps up from site) so able to go to shops, bar, takeaways, fish & chips was very tasty.

I stayed here for 3 nights. on arrival wasn't to sure if we would be staying as the campsite itself was very busy. Anyway after chatting to the warden we decided to give it a go. The park itself is on a great location and close to all amenities, the toilets need upgrading and the pitch spaces are a huge let down, felt as if I were a sardine in a tin.
If coming to this campsite 1 night is more than enough. Also its the same caravanners must go back year as they all gather together for there once a year get together. For me not great however the location is fantastic.

We booked a two night stay for the long weekend in May. We had phoned ahead to check they had a pitch big enough for a 6 berth tunnel tent with an electric hook up and booked for that day without requiring to pay a deposit. On arrival the owner was very friendly, however our first impression of the site was that it was rather tired looking. The site was full of caravans and very busy. The only area to pitch near the EHU was VERY sloping, and directly opposite the wardens busy portacabins. In the end we decided against staying and moved on to another site further west. Not a site I would return to, although if you were camping without EHU then the area in front of the beach would be ok for smaller tents.

Just back from a lovely couple of days at this beautiful little site. A simple little park but set in a fabulous bay with the historic harbour very nearby.
The site is on a slope but this did not cause any problems and there is a very good little play park at the centre of the site.
Must recommend both the chip shop and the local ice creams. Yum!
Very nice welcome from the warden too with local recommendations, a lovely service. Thank you.

This site is a great location right on the beach and only a few minutes walk from town. The facilities are not so hot with toilets and showers, whilst clean, require modernisation. Not good enough for today's standards. As the site is low down their is no real TV reception unless you have a dish, there is also no Internet availability. The site was busy enough for late Sept so maybe the facilities are overlooked given the great location. The town has 1 pub, 2 hotels which are all nice places. The Boyne Hotel grub was very good in nice surroundings. The Shorehead pub is a nice wee local for a drink. Portsoy is a well kept wee town that is well, worth a visit. Give it a try.

Very friendly on arrival.
Nice clean site with safe access to the lovely rocky beach.
Toilets and shower were fine and in good clean working order some of the time.
We used to pitch right up to the shore but now you are among the caravans and campers. Shame as you feel like poor cousins.
The on site shop was a real boost and well priced but only stocked ice lollies and milk.
The cost for pitch was good for a four man tent it was only £12.
Down side the road traffic starts very early at around 6am and is about 10m away so keep a close eye on the kids

We have been to visit Portsoy many times and I would say that the site has always been a pleasure to visit.
Dave, the new site warden, has made a few amendments to the running of the site which I believe to be of huge benefit. Being in a tent refrigeration has always been a problem but not any more.
Dave has organised fridges in the wardens' office and you can be allocated a space to keep your milk, butter and drinks in. A wonderful advantage.
The site is immaculate, the toilet blocks are clean and well lit. Dishwashing area is clean and supplied with dishwashing liquid.
Playground is kept clean and safe having been cordoned off from the site. I would highly recommend this beauiful site with wonderful views to any visitor.
Not to mention the beautiful town surrounding the site with welcoming, friendly people.
A wonderful place to visit

We stayed here intending to stay for 1 night, but stayed for an extra night, and wished we could have stayed for longer. What a lovely site. Busy but not overfull. As one person has already commented, not your most level of sites, but there are level pitches and plenty of stones etc around, to help you level up.
The toilets, and site are kept spotlessly clean and under the constant watchful eye of the friendly warden. But this site just oozes charm. Beautiful beach / stony front location, local shops within minutes walking distance.
Also lots of walking areas around and lovely coastal towns within a few minutes drive. If you are lucky you will see the dolphins and minky whales. But ssssshh! Don't tell everyone how good it is! We will be going back!
