We visited this site for 8 nts in sept.
It has many pitches over a large varied area.
As mentioned previously, it is sloping in certain area, s, but if you are an experienced tourer then it is, nt a problem and it is helpful if you have a few chocs to sort it out.
The reception and other staff are very friendly and helpful.
There are quite a few excellent toilet blocks scattered around, they seem pretty new and have great showers and are cleaned efficiently.
The location is ideal, lots of walking from the site, close to a railway station and bus stops. There's a little village close by also, with a very handy camping shop ( were we spent quite a bit ! ) and also a decent tesco supermarket approx 2 mile away.
We visited the 40, s weekend event in sheringham and got dressed up, which was great fun and also had lots of interesting days out walking with our dogs.
Our only very small negative point, is the reception can be quite a distance away from certain parts of the site and the drive in and out of the site is a bit of an effort from certain parts, but no big deal really.
All in all a great site + nice weather !

We have just returned from a 4 night stay. The shower and toilets were kept immaculate with plenty of hot water. We particularly liked having a decent sized shower cubicle with a curtain and plenty of hanging space for your clothes. We had a lovely pitch but even with using blocks could still not get completely level. The walks to Cromer and Sherringham are lovely. There are loads of walks and if you have a dog they will love it. We will definitely return.

Me and the wife like it here so much we keep going back, has it all pub and beach and places to eat, and small shops and caravan spares all in walking range, buses every 15 mins just down the road and train station so you don't need a car if you don't want to use it. Staff will help you out too if you ask them we only go when kids at school, some pitch may not be on the flat

This is one of our favourite campsites. Access is restricted and therefore the arrival times need to be adhered to. The access road is good quality but single track through a links golf course -no issues experienced with the the golfers.
The reception is very good. Staff as are friendly and helpful.
The site is broken up into roughly 2 halves. The first part of the site is broken up into little pockets with various types of pitch. To get to the grassed area (where the play park is) you have to travel over a hill which is quite steep and restricted. My unit is 7.3 metres long and although you have to be careful did not present any issue. (Even as a novice caravanner)
We found the site spacious with plenty for the kids to do.
Toilet blocks are modern and clean. Showers are spacious with ample hot water. The dish washing area is sheltered and on my last visit I found the water to be not too hot. I cannot complain though as I did not bring it to the attention of the warden.
The play park is small but adequate and gives a focal point for the kids to make friends.
Drainage on the grass is good and the wardens do their utmost to maintain a high standard. Do take levelling blocks as some of the pitches definitely require it.
The local area is great with plenty to do. The beach is one mile from the site and is a safe walk. We walked with our 6 & 4 year old - only one busy road to cross. There is also a car park by the beach which has a fee. There is also a cafe/shop and toilets. The beach is popular for fossil hunting.
The camping shop in the village is well priced and well stocked - worth a visit!
The train station is easy walking distance as is the bust stop for the North Norfolk Coast hopper.
In summary this is a great site which is well situated and has good amenities in the area.

The site is ok, but pitches are very close together in some places. I wouldn't liked to have been there at peak times. There does need to be more hardstanding pitches
If you are on the far side of the site as we were, it is a long trek there and back to the site office.
The toilet/shower block was very clean.
Great site to explore from, nice walks to Cromer, Sheringham. Also near is the Notfolk coastal walk that runs at the back of the site.
Wardens we didn't see very often but seemed friendly enough.

Very good well kept site with excellent toilets and showers. As previously stated levelling blocks are required for just about every pitch. It was pleasant just to walk around the site but there are some lovely walks just outside the site and its within walking distance of the village ( small spar shop, tea room, pub and caravan accessory shop ) and the seafront. The golf clubs sports bar and grill just outside the entrance is open to non members and is dog friendly inside and out ! This is definitely on our list of sites we would visit again.

To find site:- Approach from either the Cromer or Sheringham direction on the A149. In West Runton turn into road signed for the station and Aylmerton. Once over the railway bridge turn first left, the site entrance is in about 600 yards along a narrow road so care is required. No arrivals before 1. 00pm.
The topography of this campsite is very much up hill and down dale as the site goes up a hill and loops round the local golf course. This is a members only site. From some pitches you get a distant sea view. The majority of the 250 pitches are on grass with just six hardstanding serviced pitches near to Reception. The position of the pitches vary through the site. Some are more traditionally laid out where as other are on terraces of different sizes and there are even a few in select little areas if you would prefer more privacy. One thing common to most pitches is that they are rarely level and some will require both fore and aft as well as side to side levelling. Electrical points are well distributed around the campsite. Likewise so are service points but given the size of the site some will have a fair walk to these facilities. There are four toilet blocks positioned around the site. The one we used was of a very good standard. The site has two motorhome service points but neither has an open grid which means you have to remove a heavy drain cover before discharging waste water. There is a nice play area for younger children although it’s not within easy distance from all pitches. There is site wide WiFi and time can be purchased on line, speed wise I found it a bit on the slow side but generally it worked OK. Mobile reception can be a bit hit and miss depending on network. Reception sells some essentials and Camping/Calor Gas.
There are many attractions within a relatively short distance of the campsite with Cromer and Sheringham being the nearest. At Sheringham there is the North Norfolk Steam Railway, it also has a popular Saturday Market. In West Runton there is a small parade of shops which include a small supermarket, a café and a useful caravan accessory shop. If you require a larger supermarket there is a Morrisons in Cromer and a new Tesco in Sheringham. For those wanting to use public transport West Runton is well served by buses along the main coast road and nearer to the campsite is the railway for Sheringham in one direction and Cromer, North Walsham, Wroxham and Norwich in the other, tickets can be purchased on the train.

This is a large site but certainly doesn't feel so big as it's spread out over a large area. There were lots of areas off the main road through the site with a small number of pitches in each area which looked lovely but with young children we chose to pitch nearer to the play area.
Positives:-
The play area was kept clean of litter.
The grass was mowed regularly
Toilet blocks were immaculate and showers powerful enough and warm
Excellent addition of toddler room with a bath- perfect for younger children
Site staff couldn't have been more helpful.
The local area is beautiful with lots to do close by. The beach at west Runton was a favourite with the children.
The good standards you expect from a caravan club site.
Only downside I can think of was because it's set on a hill, when it rains hard it runs over the slopes like a river.
All in all a lovely family friendly site. Would definitely recommend and return.

Despite earlier comments we quite liked the layout of site - e. G. With several hidden terraces on quite a hill (on part of the original 18 hole golf course apparently); more interesting than the usual visible straight lines of white metal boxes! All that said many pitches a bit too short for longer motorhomes.
Location very good for access to the village, beach, railway station etc - my wife able to get everywhere on her mobility scooter - and quite interesting dodging the occasional wayward golf ball!
Wonderful walking country all around the site - both for fitter folks and our dog! Rabbits, deer, adders and more rabbits abound.
Site is also much cheaper than some of the private sites in N. Norfolk.
Pleasant bar and eatery just outside site 'the Hole in one' - part of golf club but open to all - including dogs! another 1/2 mile is the Village inn - also dog friendly. We had a very good Sunday lunch there. Good local food shop and an excellent camping shop - doing a great trade.
We enjoyed the very convenient local train services - first time on station the driver got out to help us getting mobility scooter into carriage! (would that happen anywhere but rural Norfolk?)
Had trip on the Poppy steam line from Sheringham to Holt - excellent. Also a trip to Norfolk. Latter a bit disappointing - parts we saw were quite scruffy with litter etc, but my wife enjoyed a trip round the Cathedral.
Site facilities and cleanliness up to usual CC standards - only couple of minor but annoying gripes from me:
1. Small toilets mean that a largish toilet roll dispenser resides hard against one's shoulder when sitting!
2. Well designed showers spoilt by the fitting of a naff corner wall rack fixed with rusting steel screws!
OK it's just me being picky - but have noticed these poor features on many CC sites!
CC bosses - if you read this please have a word with your installation contractors! I would have sacked them!
Last but not least all staff very friendly and helpful!

This site is a real mixed bag. The early part is made up of terraces and nooks and corners - the latter part is basically big fields. Some of the terraces have a big slope - too much for our levelling blocks. There are six super pitches and all the rest, as far as we could see, are grass. Wardens are mostly friendly apart form the woman on reception duties. It was our first time on any site ever and we asked for a pitch recommendation only to be told : 'We can't recommend anything. ' Really helpful! Her colleagues though were great as is the location. Well worth a visit.
