A lovely site and a fair price for the tent which included free fishing and ehu. Shower blocks were nice and clean but only 2 showers. Although we didn't try the pub as we were only there for one night we had a look in the next day and it looked nice and cosy , games area too. Although the outdoor play areas are a bit limited families were making the most of the playing field for rounders etc.
A few minutes drive from Thirsk with all its shops and a large Tesco, so handy for picking up essentials, do remember to take a torch though as there is very little lighting but this makes for lovely star-gazing! Everyone was friendly, we will definitely be back

Great site, lots of room, but was outside of school hols, can get busy on a weekend. Clubhouse is in need of updating, but served the purpose of a little bit of entertainment and a drink without having to drive. Kids liked the games area. Toilets and showers kept very clean. Small lake which can be fished but forgot to pack rods. Plenty of room to play for the kids. Very helpful warden. Super value for money as an all in fee for tent and occupants, no extra cost per person over the initial two. Would recommend.

Stayed here for weekend nice site, toilet block nipping clean but could do with being a little bigger. The tourer field was packed and it was difficult for some people to get their caravans back out. Could do with making pitch spaces larger and bigger gap to drive through between rows. Our friends have been in the rain but say it can get very muddy and slippy.
You can have nice walk round the fishing lake and through the static caravans. The only other thing really missing from here is a shop, even if they only sold milk, bread etc.
Would still visit again though

We have just returned from yet again a great weekend at this campsite (and we will def be going back)
The site is truley a hidden gem!
The site manager and his staff are very friendly and really do go out of there way to help if you encounter any problems (which we did. With our caravan fuses, we wr so grateful for the help and advice we wr given which I hasten to say you probobably would not of got at a bigger more commercial park)
The toilet and washing up facility was kept spotless at all times.
The people on the site are all really friendly and my children had a fantastic time and met loads of new friends.
The site is very pictuesque and the peacocks are a beautiful sight.
The site has a really nice area for walking your dogs and just down the road is the centre of thirsk with some lovely shops and resturants.
The site has a lovely little bar with a games room for the children to play in whilst the adults have a drink. Lovely!
We will be visiting this site again some time soon and are considering siteing our tourer here.

A well laid out site could do with a shop as nothing on site apart from pub priced at £2.60 a pint lager. The lake is ok but supposed to be overrun with carp, bream but in 4 days we caught only 2 fish. The club house could do with being updated. Bingo was a laugh

At first glance this site was impressive. The grounds are spacious, with a lake, woodland and a host of glorious peacocks on parade. After enquiring about pitch availability - we hadn't booked in advance - and then paying our fees, we were shown to the touring field. The caravans were packed close together in serried ranks, it bore more resemblance to a supermarket car-park than a caravan site! We were horrified, but had booked so were somewhat committed - although we did debate whether or not to drive off (we hadn't paid at this point, because we were carrying only a few pounds in cash and the site - amazingly, in this day and age - had no facility to accept debit or credit cards!).
We decided to stick it out for the few days we had booked, largely because a number of the tourers that surrounded us seemed to be unoccupied and the fact that we would be away from the site throughout most of the day, anyway. On the Friday after our arrival, we were out until 7.30 in the evening. When we returned we found the site full to bursting point - with all our neighbours now at their caravans. From the accents it appeared that half of Middlesbrough had arrived for the weekend. It was awful, absolutely no space or privacy - and there were so many cars parked around the caravans that we had serious doubts about that we would be able to get our caravan out when we wanted to leave. All the people there seemed to know each other, and were gathered in large groups all around drinking enormous quantities of beer. On the Saturday night this rowdiness went on until almost 2.00am.
All the people there were friendly enough, and their children polite - although very boisterous. No-one was offensive in any way and - amazingly, for such a gathering, we heard no swearing from any of them.
The site facilities weren't too bad - the toilet block was clean, although completely inadequate for the numbers there. The site manager was both helpful and friendly, and there was generally a jolly and happy atmosphere - but it was not what we look for in a caravan site, and we were very relieved to get away from the place.

Campsite was really nice, the price not to bad either £16 a night for any size tent. There is a small park for the kids and a fishing lake. The grass was well looked after not muddy. We also had the car parked next to the tent unlike some campsites. The only thing missing was a small shop. The toilets and showers are great, nice and clean. You can have a bbq as long as its kept off the grass.I would return to this one again we really enjoyed the campsite I would recommend it to anyone.

Visited this site for a weekend, Friday to Monday. On arrival this site looks really lovely with all the beautiful static caravans laid out. Then we were shown to the touring field, what a shock, I have never seen so many caravans and motorhomes cramped onto one field. We were shown to our place and were given just enough room to pull our motorhome onto, no extra room for anything else. If you have a caravan please be aware it is caravan and car or caravan and awning, car parked in next field, not both. Pitches are not laid out, everyone just crams onto the field. This could be a beautiful site with a bit more organisation.
Shower block and toilets are new and lovely and clean, only problem they are not big enough to accommodate this many tourers, 2 showers and 4 toilets for about 40 pitches.
We went for the fishing My husband and son caught some really good size fish and it did not cost any extra to fish on the lake all weekend.
Cow shed converted into small club, was o.K. Sorry to sound negative but I was really disappointed in this site as it could be really beautiful. I did have a word with the warden and I was told there was going to be improvement over the winter and motorhome drainage points installed.

We visited this caravan site on a bank holiday and the park was full up. The pitch that we were given was very cramped and the caravan adjacent to us had parked so they could face their friends therefore we were only inches away from each others windows which was not very good.
The park itself is very nice, the lake is lovely to walk around and to feed the ducks and geese. There is a play park for children.
The showers and toilet block were immaculate the only problem I found was that the children were messing around quite a bit in the shower block.
The pub is placed in an old cowshed, the bingo is very amusing however you need to be there early to get a decent seat.
There is no shop on site, the nearest is to drive into Thirsk which is about 2 miles away.
This site is great value for money.

We went and had a look around this site as we are looking for somewhere close to home to go seasonal.
On first impressions the site looks great all new / newish statics laid out really well, shower block just been refurbished and looks great and then you turn the corner to a boggy and crammed field that is very unlevel and does not look appealing at all. It is a shame really because this would make a lovely site if they laid out the pitches a lot nicer. We had a good walk around and the rest of the site is lovely
