Just returned from this site and overall it is a nice quiet site
The facilities are basic 2 showers in mens block but very clean . OH complained though because pot washing facilities are in the ladies block. Cowshed bar open in the evening the evening entertainment was very funny , it is only open at weekends though and you have to be there at dot on 7 when it opens else you will struggle to get a seat . The site is missing a shop , nearest shops in Thirsk 4 miles away so an on site shop for the basics would be very welcome. Overall a well kept and clean site

Nice site but let down by the toilet block, dirty and in much need of updating. Mainly level site but on this wet weekend water didn't seem to drain away very well. Limited rubbish disposal. Club site in old pig barn very popular with bingo and karaoke at the weekends. Nearest shopping in Thirsk just over 3 miles away. Free lake fishing if you have a river permit and seemed well used by the fishermen on site.

A great little campsite tucked away in the backwaters. A cow shed converted into a fantastic bar/poolroom/sweetshop was brilliant as everyone knew each other and created a real family atmosphere - don't worry, you wouldn't know it was a cowshed once inside!
The campsite facilities were retro, but again clean and homely. The washing up facilities was in the ladies toilet - which was a total bonus for me (a bloke) as I wasn't allowed to go in (HURRAH!).
The tent pitch field was small as it was mostly a static site. No play area, so kids entertained themselves with usual cricket and footy.
I like this kind of campsite as it doesn't get overcrowded, but it wouldn't be everyone's cup-of-tea if you wanted peaceful break with the family it is ideal.

Was not very impressed with this site, cramped could lean out of window and touch caravans. Pub is a pricey. Toilets could have done with being updated. At the time site was very muddy and boggy due to weather though.

Been for easter had fab time campsite manger was very helpful showed us to our pitch and told us he was there if we needed him. Husband couldn't believe fishing was free providing you had a license. Toilets could do with been updated but very clean. The site was full but very little noise the children were all well behaved . A good base for touring north yorkshire, would go again

A good place overall but strange in some respects. Only campsite with space on July weekend. Only four tents there but room for many more. Mainly for static caravans with one field of tourers. Facilities include fishing lake , with ducks, playground, football pitch, bar with games room. Toilet / shower block ancient (circa 1950s) but kept clean as possible. Has a distinctly Geordie flavour and is friendly and sociable. Lots of teenagers but all part of family groups so no problems and quiet by 10:00, Local children's farm and Sutton Bank well worth a visit. Bar is both a plus and a minus. No shop on site. Professionally run and lively and friendly not rowdy. Would visit again but maybe not first choice.

Just went for two nights, manger very helpful, friendly, kids loved every minute, lots of families to make friends with, lots of friendly kids too, Toilets and showers clean (tip for the shower, turn to number 2 and let it warm up then turn up) Peacocks say good night and good morning, we saw lots of birds too, and had a robin close by looking for scraps most of the weekend, which we gave toast dipped in bacon drippings lol. Huge playing field for football, cricket, rounders etc. We pitched close to a hedge for shelter. Our dogs had a brill time too. Play area is ok, but next to the lake, so extra care to be given with small kiddies. Well worth a weekend visit, we are going back in a fortnight!

Had a wonderful time at this site, the management were friendly and helpful especially when my car broke down. The kids loved the fishing, birds and playground. There is a games room and bar with entertainment on site and the residents left us alone to enjoy our stay. Only down side was the fact that out tent was under a power cable and on freshly cut grass so the tent was full of grass but we did get £4 knocked off. Toilets were OK not fantastic and some of the static caravans are like homes so it is not for the purist camper, but all in all a great camp site and well worth a visit. Also you may be woken up by the peacocks!

Lovely quiet site. Lake right in the centre of the park for fishing. There is a childrens play area, only thing missing is a shop, but Thirsk is only along the road. Recommend this site for a quiet weekend. There is some lovely walks outside the site. Toilets and showers are clean.
