What a fantastic, quiet little site this is. There is a toilet and shower that were kept immaculate. The owners were very friendly and helpful.
We were pitched on the field at the back where there was a brilliant picnic area where we enjoyed numerous bbq's. There was some sloping but nothing a bit of packing wouldn't see to. The views were exceptionally breathtaking. Reasonably priced at £10.50 per night including electric.
The only downfall I would say was the buzzing of the milking machine for about an hour each morning and evening but other than that, it was blissfully peaceful. If you do go, ask not to be put on the lane as it is quite cramped there.

October 2004 Spent a long weekend here at half term. Nested under the ridge of hills ending at Hellvelyn, you can leave the campsite and start walking up Stybeck pass up to Great Dodd and the main ridge straight away.
The description in the CC handbook does mention in fact that is it "a working farm". And so it is. However, the Hodgsons are quite freindly and very helpful if needed.
Views of the valley & the main Dodd ridge are seen from the pithes with trees blocking views of the road and sheltering the site.
The pitches are on a concrete standing at the top side of the farm, with farm tractors going up and down during the day and evening (and blocking the entrance / exit during the night. Landscaping around the pitches wasn't much in evidence though. You did feel that you were close to a working farm.
Friendly sheep dogs on the way in will guard over night!. If you are lucky your pitch will be level, but most are sloped in some way so take some wood or packing with you.
We enjoyed our visit despite it being late in the year as it was great for walking in the area. OK you heard the tractors in the morning but hey, these guys have animals to feed.
Free toilet, but the (one) shower costs £1 per go.
In summary, a working farm with toilet & shower, but then this is a walkers site in the main so will will be away most of the time.
