Im afraid I wasn't impressed with this site at all - When I rang to enquire I got the impression is was all too much trouble and indeed this appeared to be the same on arrival. As others have stated the toilets were a long way from the pitches (although not 10 minutes walk) these were also very dirty and the water in the showers (which you had to pay an additional £1 to use) was almost cold.
The site backs onto an industrial estate, school and a household waste site, so during the week it is less than peaceful.
The roads around the site were badly potholed and considering the fees were at the high end of the market, you would think they could afford to pay to have them filled in.
Had the person I dealt with on the telephone and on arrival been more approachable I would have raised my concerns on site. However, as it was I left after only one night feeling disappointed, instead of spending a few days here fishing as originally planned.

Excellent site very friendly staff. I arrived at 6.30 Friday night without any bait for fishing unfortunately the bait shop was closed, however the site owner lent me some bait quite a good selection in fact and at no extra charge. Caught my largest fish so thank you. The people on site are very friendly and it is true there is a lot of matches but due to the fact they have so many ponds this is never a problem. Toilet block is a fair walk and yes could do with up dating but this does not lessen the appeal of this site. Not really sure about surrounding area as we never left the site. Only suggestion I would make is a play ground for children then it would be perfect, that being said my two children had the time of their lives playing and fishing. All in All can't wait to go back.

Enjoyed my weekend, but could do with being re-tarmaced as lots of potholes. Also could do with more toilet/shower blocks as they are too far away. Same for your drinking water. As the fishing goes you are restricted to where you can fish as there are so many competitions on here.

Nice, well kept site with plenty of room between units. Had problems with electric hook-up on arrival which were soon sorted out. The website says there is a club on site but this was only open on Friday and Saturday after fishing matches. Most of the pools are used for matches with a smaller pool for recreational fishing, unfortunately we spent all day there with not a bite but this may have been due to the weather. I cannot comment on the toilet blocks as they were so far away from the pitches we did not use them (about a 10 minute walk). Retford is a lovely market town but apart from that not much too do in the surrounding areas. A nice site for relaxing and if you want to spend your break just fishing but would not recommend it for children.
