Pearl lake is the 2nd site we have visited with best parks, aas with Poston mill they are both immaculate. Site owners and caravan owners very friendly. Facilities included a 15 acre fishing lake stocked with loads of tench which I was lucky enough to catch a 5lb. Also a 9 hole golf course which looked in very good condition. A large football pitch and pub on site. Toilet block was not the most modern looking but very clean. Hard stand pitches were great with own water, drain, tv point to each pitch. Leominster has a lot of of shops which is only 6 miles away, or a 15 minute walk from site is a Premier shop and the Batesman Arms pub. Overall would recommend for a weekend stay, not much else to do if you have a week stay

Stayed here for 5 nights over Easter holidays booked at the last minute. Part of the Bestparks group, so as with all their sites, well kept with excellent facilities and friendly staff. Fantastic landscaped lake and golf course, pleasant woodland walks and an on site restaurant (drinks a bit expensive though).
Touring section very well kept and spacious, but a little close to the road, which can get quite busy most mornings. Handy for Leominster, Hereford and Ludlow and nearby attractions.

Just spent 2 nights at Pearl Lake, had a really enjoyable time. Wardens very friendly from time we made the booking over the phone to our arrival. On site facilities are excellent, toilet block kept well serviced and very clean, they even have a dog wash. On site pub good value, meals were also very good but some might consider them a bit expensive. If you are a golfer take your clubs, you can play all day for just £7.00.
They have an 8 acre dog field which is well maintained, plenty of poo bins on site, no sign of dog mess although I did see a resident just let his dog poo and leave it. Large lake and 20 acre wood you can walk round.
Village only a few minutes walk away which has a pub and post office come general store. 15 fully serviced pitches with water, hook up and drainage, they even provide a coaxial cable for connection to the sites digital ariel and reception is very good.
The only down side I can see is that the touring pitches are located next to a road which does quieten down at night and really wasn't a problem. The site is also opposite a new housing development under construction which can be a bit noisy during the day.(This will be time limited until the estate is completed)
There is a good playground for children, skateboard ramp, swings, slide, climbing frame, football pitch and a volley ball net. There is also a crown green bowling rink on site. The residents all said hello when we walked past with the dogs and there was a good mix of people on the touring pitches while we were there. We will be back !

Just returned from a 3 nights weekend break at Pearl Lake. Arrived at 1pm and was greeted by very friendly staff in reception, was shown to pitch to set up prior to returning to reception to pay for stay.
The pitches are large and level and fully serviced with TV hook up.
The toilet and shower block were small but adequate as there is only 15 touring pitches on site.
I agree with the former reviews that the touring area does feel like a poor cousin to the main section of the park!
The road adjacent to the touring area is very busy and noisy at all times of the day and night. In addition there is some construction work taking place opposite the site with a new housing estate being built.
The site is very rural with a good 6 mile drive to Leominster. Shobdon itself is a very small village with only 1 shop/post office.
This park is suited to fishermen, golfers and ramblers only, would not recommend for anyone else!

Great site facilities are extremely good.
Golf course is available to guests as well as bowling.Walks around the forest lakes make this a very welcome break.
The on site bar /clubhouse has entertainment and serves reasonably priced food throughout the day.
The staff were all very friendly both at reception and in the clubhouse.
My children 8 and 5 really enjoyed the site and in particular the play area.
Great site will return

We have just returned from a 3 night break at Pearl Lake. We had a 3 and a half hour journey to the site and have never had such a warm and friendly welcome from any other site as we had from here. All of the staff were really friendly and very helpful, the site is immaculate, and we would def visit again.
Excellent points:
Wonderful free showers - 8 minutes hot water is more than enough!
Dog shower which my German shepherd loved!
Immaculate site so clean and tidy.
Staff all wonderful.
Best site ever visited - would def come again
We noticed on this site the fact that tourers were made to feel pushed out and that is not the case at all! The pitches are huge and kept lovely! it is close to the road but never even noticed the noise really not enough to complain about anyway!
Would def come back again very soon
PS pub is lovely and the food was great!

Stayed for a week. Nice park, but not for tourers, I felt we were pushed round the back by the road. The road is busy and can be noisy. The building site opposite makes a lot of noise also. If its peace and quiet you want this is not the site for you. The fishing is not too bad OH went a couple of times. The on site pub and restaurant make you very welcome meals not bad I have had worse. Showers etc are kept clean and warm plenty of hot water.

We stayed here in October 2009.
It was part of the sun newspaper camping from £1,although we paid £10 per night. (this was not sites fault but newspaper's).
We went with friends and had a pitch each, which were next to each other (as promised)
This park has been described as 5 star and although it was a lovely park in the static area, I am in doubt whether it is 5 star in the touring part.
The toilet facilities were clean and well maintained (always toilet roll available) but were a little dated, no hooks to hang washing items on and some tiles were cracked.
The pitches are well spaced, gravel & are full serviced but they are very close to a main road that is very noisy from early in the morning with a lot of heavy vehicles passing. (tractors & lorries)
The walk around the lake was lovely and children's play area was ok for my children (5 & 7) and my friends children (3 & 6).
The on site pub was fine, although a little pricey and let us book a table for the 8 of us on my birthday. Food did take awhile but this was due to a function going on in the other room, although when it arrived it was really nice.
All in all a nice park for a weekend break.

Just come back from 2 nights at Pearl Lake and like many leisure parks it has both positive and negative points.
The good points were the facilities, it had modern clean toilets and showers. Helpful reception with many ideas for days out. The pitches were very large with a tv aerial output which gave us good digital reception and also waste water and water points. There were also a nice walk round the lake (which could be used for fishing) and a large 9 hole golf course.
Now to the bad points, I felt we were pushed up the corner of the site out the way of the holiday homes by a busy main road with local farm traffic which can be quite noisy. There was a bar and restaurant on site which I suppose was a good thing but thought it could've been open for most of the afternoon (well at least the bar anyway)and the food prices were a bit expensive.
Don't think the holiday home owners were too keen on the touring guests as we were soon put in our place when we stepped over a bit of grass we shouldn't of.
The playground was a bit of a distance from the touring caravan part which was a shame.
The village pub was a brisk half hour walk and not 10 mins like the park suggest unless your Usain Bolt.
All in all it cost us £10 a night which I suppose was good but I don't think we'll be coming back here again.

We stayed here for the first time in September. The site is easily accessible with security barriers in operation. The owners / staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble.
The touring area is small with around 11 pitches, all gravel hard standing for the caravan and wonderfully kept grass for the awning area. The toilets and showers are very clean and nicely maintained.
The majority of the site is a very well designed static park that is immaculately maintained.
The site hosts Pearl Lake, the largest natural glacier formed lake in the county of Herefordshire. The fishing is pretty good, I hooked four and landed three of them in just three hours of fishing!
There is also a nine-hole golf course on site, as I am not a golfer, I cannot comment on how good it is.
There is an on site take away and restaurant; we had some really tasty steak rolls and chips. The village of Shobdon is a short safe walk away and has a local shop that can provide the necessary daily provisions. There is also a pub but we did not visit on this occasion.
We have already booked to return again next weekend.
