This was our very first UK camping trip. We used to camp at least twice a month in the USA and were nervous about camping here. and of course all of our camping gear is in storage in the States. We stumbled upon Tremorvu here on UKCAMPSITE and thank goodness.

What a wonderful experience. Lee and Kate were great. They had the tent and all the extras we needed to try out camping here in the UK. When we arrived, Lee and Kate were dealing with the recycling and came straight over to greet us.

They showed us immediately to our pitch with the tent and everything all sorted for us. I couldn't have been more pleased. The pitches were spaced well over 3 or 4 fields. It was quiet. Not much to do for young children but that didn't matter as we had a 13 year old with us.

The young ones on the site seemed to be having fun anyways. We were centrally located to all the places we wanted to visit. Pub down the road, Lion and Lamb was good, although we found some much nicer while we were out and about, but to walk a half mile, it was still nice.

Bathrooms were nice, very clean, although a couple times during the night, the loo rolls were empty. I tend to bring some with me anyways so no big deal, but for some it may have been a bit of an issue. Washing up facilities were good, although some other campers were very disrespectful and left the sinks a mess a few times.

All in all, I was very impressed. Yes, it was very different from camping in New Hampshire, and I miss my campfires. But we were very pleased and hope to return soon in the future!

My wife and I 'stumbled' over this campsite as we decided to tour Cornwall for a week. We saw the sign on the main road and thought we'd give it a try. We are so pleased we did! From the moment we pulled up to enquire about availability to the moment we left we had the most wonderful experience!

The owner couldn't do enough for us. We were offered our pick of many decently sized pitches in one of four or five well kept fields. The one we chose had a lovely view over the surrounding countryside out to a distant sea view.

The showers/toilets and the washing up area were always clean with plenty of free hot water! The laundry area (for a small charge - £3 a load) was handy along with the small on site shop. The site is conveniently located as a central base for visiting many surrounding attractions/villages/harbours.

In a way, I didn't want to write this review because being totally selfish I would like to go back to this uncrowded beautiful site and have the peace and tranquillity that we had this time. However, we had such a great stay that it would have been unfair not to write this review!

A big thank you to Lee and his family for making us feel really welcome! We hope to be back soon.

Flaming June-more like pouring rain, winds, fog and cold. So what was good.

Well, the campsite actually. From booking right through to leaving, Lee, the owner bent over backwards to provide a great experience. With an 80 yr old mother in law, 2 kids and a 20yr old niece that was a tall order (for me and him!)

He provided a superb two bedroom ready pitched tent (to add to our own self pitched one) fully equipped, with hook up, and even with great heater which was a saviour!

The tent/site/ and all facilities were extremely clean and well kept. The site is out of the way, very quiet, and absolutely un-crowded, even on the jubilee bank holiday/kids half term. Yet its handy for all the sites and attractions.

Lee even cut a fire pit for us to sit round with kids at night and is willing to supply logs.

So, if your headed to Cornwall, you wouldn’t find a more uncrowded, simple, and clean site, or a more helpful owner. If he could just fix the weather.

We live a few miles away and were keen to try out our new tent somewhere close to home, just in case.

We stayed for a weekend and were made to feel welcome, albeit in a fairly empty site because of the time of year.

The owners were great and appear to have made great efforts in improving the site looking at reviews from previous years.

The pitch was large and close enough to water, but was a little way away from the electrical supply. Not a problem for them who kindly lent us an extension lead to bridge the distance.

Showers and toilets were good and the family room excellent. Obviously a site owned by people who used to camp.

Would stay again if we did not literally live a few miles away.

We (myself, wife, 14 year old son and 13 year old daughter) stayed at this lovely site for 2 weeks, and absolutely loved it and can't wait to return.

The pitches are large, and with 5 different fields to choose from, each with a slightly different 'feel', we were spoilt for choice. The owners were lovely and helpful. It was far enough off the main roads to feel in the middle of nowhere, but in fact just a short drive from every convenience you could possibly need.

I think everything to be said about this site has been said, but my stance on 'the shower / washing facilities' is they're just adequate for the type of site, and size-wise are probably built to a budget that this sort of campsite can sustain.

They were always spotless and served their pupose well; yes on a couple of the colder mornings, a bit nippy, but on refelection the outside door was wide open, and I should have closed it!

We did go to the local pub a couple of times; The food was reasonably priced (not cheap) but the portions were very tasty and huge, and the drink selection was perfect.

We also ate at The Harbour Inn on Porthleven just a couple of miles away several times, and would highly recommend it for value and quality. (I would not recommend the Godolphin Arms in Marazion, which was very dissapointing, considering it was right next to St. Michaels Mount).

Anyway, if you like a campsite that is very well maintained with helpful friendly owners, quiet, not far from all the conveniences, then definitely go here.

Went back again in August 2011 and it was even better. For those who have read the previous review, no problems with replenishment of items in toilets. The shop is still doing all that you want of it.

SandBar and Lion and lamb up to usual standards and the beer at the Harbour Inn, Porthleven is excellent.

In Porthleven, we found Rolands Happy Plaice was neither happy or very helpful at serving after 19:30 and glad we found The Top Chippy. Their specials of freshly landed fish from the port, were great.

Unfortunately will be dragged off to France next year but will be back and I can't wait to try a fire pit!

Have just returned from four nights at Tremorvu. We didn't have all the equipment needed for camping so opted for the pre-erected and equipped tent.

We were very impressed with our tent and how well equipped it was, even washing-up liquid and tea-towels, really only needed to bring our bedding and a lamp. Lee and Kate were very welcoming hosts, even down to Lee rescuing our gazebo whilst we were out!

Facilities were perfectly adequate and clean. Can get quite windy so a windbreak is really useful.

We found the site to be very well positioned for getting to many different places and attractions. The Lion and Lamb did some good pub grub, also some nice places to eat in Porthleven.

Hoping to get a caravan next year so will def visit again.

We enjoyed staying at your campsite very much; the views are spectacular: the war memorial needs special mention.

The central location in the 'horn' of Cornwall makes it easy to drive to whatever attraction you want to visit.

The coastal walks are never far off and are always awesome, if sometimes strenuous.

The pitches are as level as can be and the washing facilities are clean and tidy.

The opening of the shop on site was a great idea.

We will recommend your place to our acquaintances over here.

Enjoyed a great holiday on this quiet clean well kept site. Toilets and showers are well kept and clean. The local area has some lovely villages and the site is well placed for visiting all the attractions in the area. Lee and his family are really welcoming and friendly.

We did not try the local pub as it is not dog friendly but it was recommended by other campers.

A couple of miles away is Porthleven where there is a supermarket and various eating places all good! Lee and his family are really welcoming and friendly hook up is available if required and nothing is too much trouble.

We will be visiting again!

We had a marvellous five nights at this beautiful campsite. Peaceful, spacious, and surrounded by wild flowers and birdsong. The six of us (myself, my husband, and our four children aged 8, 6, 4 and 2) felt warmly welcomed, and the children had a brilliant time playing in the field

The toilet block is clean, with 2 showers for men, and 2 for women. There's also a family/disabled room, which is nicely laid out with shower, toilet, two sinks, and a changing table with a mat. Our four year old enjoyed hanging the sign up outside to show it was 'Engaged'- there's no lock (this wasn't a problem).

Plenty of hot water, and the showers had stools, hooks, shelves, and a dry place to stand while you dressed. There's a washing up room, with two sinks, and a fridge and freezer for campers to use (we're always grateful to have access to a fridge- makes life so much easier).

Praa sands nearby is a stunning beach (rockpools, sand, sea caves). We enjoyed several NT places (St. Michael's Mount, Levant Mine, and the gardens at Penzance), and went on an open top bus to St Ives. We also really enjoyed a few hours following a self-guided walk at Baker's Pit .

We're already looking forward to staying again next year.
