Stayed here a few times and have always been well satisfied with the arrangements.

Toilets, showers etc are always clean as is the rest of the site. The staff are friendly and helpful from start to finish.

Park itself has a beach, large grassy areas and huge children's park nearby. There is also easy access to a small cafe at the site exit and two minutes walk takes you under the railway to a late night Tesco, local shops, several pubs and a bunch of take-away food outlets (all of a pretty good standard).

For trips out the nearby bus and train stops provide a short trip to Dundee and Arbroath.

Well worth a visit and we will be going back soon.

The site was lovely and clean. The toilet block was bright, well sanitised with free showers.

Only thing lacking was an acceptable price for the wifi. For my party it would’ve cost us nearly £30 for 48hrs which I feel is a lot.

There is also no play park on site.

Good clean & well maintained site. Shower blocks/toilets spotless also laundry room & dish washing facilities

Near town for shops etc. Also nice walk along sea front to the village Broughty Ferry can also catch bus ( # 73) or taxi where there are more shops, restaurants, pubs etc. Not far from Dundee itself

Will definitely go back to this site.

Also if want to venture other way Carnoustie is about 5 miles away which is also a nice wee village & good walks & cycling

We booked 2 nights here for a transit stop on the way south from Orkney so that we could visit the V&A in Dundee. Having made a non- refundable booking I then discovered that the V&A wasn’t open on the relevant date - it is currently (June 2021) closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Still, that’s my bad!

I began to worry a bit about the site, which I knew to be mostly statics, when a series of hectoring e-mails started to arrive, setting strict rules and (mistakenly) seeking a £100 damage deposit - turns out that only applies to statics and lodges.

Arrival is also strictly by 5pm, which made for a slightly harassing journey through the Dundee traffic. However, we got a call from reception at 4:30 enquiring about our progress and the staff member could not have been more helpful; especially in regard to avoiding the very low bridge under the railway at the site entrance - there’s a more commodious bridge about 200m further east.

Irritatingly our ‘foreign’ motorhome had to be parked facing away from the sea in order to ensure proper spacing on what are really rather minimal pitches.

After this dubious start, however, our mood started to lighten. The facilities are first class, and properly Covid-managed without inconvenience to users. The washing machine worked well (but the 2 tumble driers wouldn’t) and fully serviced pitch we were on was, other than it’s orientation, perfectly good.

The level, well-surfaced riverside path provides a good bike ride in either direction. There are handy shops, including a decent sized Tesco, and we got one of the very best fish suppers we’d ever had from the little chippy next to Farm Foods.

Yes, there are quite a few trains on the railway, but we heard none between midnight and 06:00. Trainspotters will be impressed with the variety of motive power used.

We still had a great day out in Dundee, using the train from the adjacent Monifieth station which runs approximately hourly. In the morning we looked in at the Discovery museum which is full of artefacts from Scott’s first voyage to the Antarctic, and you can also tour the ship itself (which was built in Dundee).

We bought joint tickets for that and the Verdant Works which we visited in the afternoon. It illustrates the jute industry and has as a starring exhibit a huge beam engine from the early C19th which can be seen ‘working’ - powered by an electric motor.

In the end it was the location of Tayview which sold the site to us - a well maintained site in the right place can be forgiven a few foibles.

 Pros:

Well kept site

On Angus coastal path

Next to beach

Near shops, pubs etc

Good cycling and walking routes

Clean and modern toilet block with shower cubicles with sliding doors

Cons:

Full of statics

Regimented pitches

Pitches small and feel very close to neighbours

Not much of a sea view unless right at front

Perimeter fence detracts from view

Showers push button every 15 seconds!

Nowhere in shower to put your toiletries

Some pitches not very level

Train line runs at back of campsite with some noise

Would I return – probably not.

Pros: adjacent beach and town. Clean, warm facilities with hot water. Good for short break.

Cons: regimented fairly small pitches with no separation which might be a problem in summer, shower curtains, showers too powerful and push button.

We had a sea view albeit separated by a metal fence - there were spaces along the fence for larger motorhomes which would kill the view when busy.

Needs some planting to separate pitches. Not really a problem out of season as everyone inside their unit. Shame no free wifi.

Quite pricey at £23 for grass pitch.

Absolutely beautiful and stunning caravan park. Reception staff so friendly and helpful.

Toilets immaculate clean. Shower block has central heating so your not cold coming out it.

I can’t fault this caravan park in any way and will definitely visit again.

Would be nice if price was a bit cheaper per night but seemingly this is the going rate for October. I’m brand new to touring and was shocked at what sites charge per night.

A great location, right on the coastal path and few minutes' walk into Monifieth itself, where there is a supermarket, a few pubs/restaurants, and the bus service to Dundee and up the coast. Broughty Ferry is walkable along the coastal path. A few trees or some planting would help to break up what is quite a regimented layout, not helped by the unattractive metal fence between the site and the beach. However, overall it is a site with good amenities in a good location. The reception staff were friendly and helpful.
