I have just come back from a weeks visit to this site, it cost £586 for the week in an 8 berth van which included the cost for bringing the dog. I don't expect the newest of caravans for dog owners and although it was clean, it was old, the windows didn't close securely we could see daylight through the window frames which give an awful draft especially during the days we had hurricane Bill. In fact one of the bedroom window frames completely fell out. The two end bedroom were damp there was an electric heater but it didn't work. Considering it was for an 8 berth fortunately there were only 7 of us as there was only 7 beds as the end room was a single it seemed to have a bed missing!

The grill and one of the rings didn't work on the cooker and the fridge was also faulty.

If you have any mobility problems or have a pushchair ask for a pitch that will accommodate it as the site is on a hill with narrow pathways. The land around the tented area is very boggy and slippery so give it a wide berth.

The playground was close and the kids loved it, take clothes that you don't mind getting filthy and put the kids in them to go as they couldn't go out in the same clothes after playing there.

The pool was lovely with a refurbished family shower room. Don't expect the quality of one of the larger parks but if all you want is a basic one this fits the bill.

The club can be cramped at peak times but Deano does a good job with the resources he has. The children adore him. Entertainment is brought in three times a week.

We went at the very end of August so I think the shop was being run down as there really wasn't anything in there worth buying so we went to the Spar up the road next to the garage which had everything we needed and was very convenient.

The campsite is clean and well kept. There was a clubhouse there but we never tried it as other campers said it wasn't very good.

There was handy shop opposite the site on the main road, which wasn't too expensive.

There is a small play area on site which was very well kept.

Never saw the owners properly so can't comment on politeness and how friendly they were, but other campers were friendly.

The site is near a car boot sale, which happens on the airfield - on a Sunday, I believe. A pub is just opposite the site and through the lanes there are other pubs close by. It is also near to Folly Farm.

I'll give my best review given that it rained for the entire time of our stay (not Sunnyvale's fault)

Pitch was a decent size, not that all touring pitches are hardstanding, although some are half grass so a tent can be erected. We had a lot of rain and our pitch flooded a little.

Staff were friendly and helpful.

We could take our dog near the pool, so made life a lot easier for supervising the kids.

Showers and toilets could do with a facelift, but were adequate.

Beach is 5-10 minute drive, can be walked but hiking boots required. They say 15 minute walk, but I would say more like 30-40 minutes.

Saundersfoot is a lovely area with a number of shops, takeways and places to eat, and is only a 15 minute drive from Tenby.

Shame about the weather, but would go back again.

I booked this holiday as a break for my husbands 50th birthday. When I booked I stated that I was disabled. When we arrived at the site we were given the keys to the static caravan and told where it was sited. When we got to the caravan there were steps up to the door. The caravan smelled damp and musty. We put this down to it being early in the season and the caravan not being aired. We had rain the first night and as the caravan was sited under trees the rain constantly dripped off the trees on the roof which sounds quite loud. We were also very close to the railway track so had the sound of the hourly train too. The caravan was constantly cold, so the gas fire was always on, (it was warmer outside). The seating was damp. It was so cold that we went out and bought a halogen heater to warm and dry the caravan. I struggled with the steps into the caravan, whilst the next caravan down from ours, had a ramp and a family with no disabled people staying. We went to the office and asked for alternative accommodation only to be told that there were no other caravans available. The shop was small, the parking for reception is very limited. The club house was fine. I never used the toilet/shower block so cannot comment on those. The cleanliness of the caravan was just about passable. I would not visit this caravan park ever again and cannot find it in myself to recommend it to others. We booked an extra weekend at nearby caravan site, well that few days we spent elsewhere made up for the disappointment of sunnyvale.

Saundersfoot and tenby are beautiful and are a must to go and visit

My husband, our 4 month old baby and myself have just got back from a weeks holiday at Sunnyvale. We booked a silver class 6 berth caravan (number 18) and were pleased to find a ramp (as it is a disabled pitch) which made getting the buggy in the caravan easy and a travel cot provided when we got there even though we had brought our own (we were not charged for this either).
The campsite was better than expected. Very quiet and pretty. The caravan was pretty good. The only thing I would say is that it was a bit old smelling and the pull out sofa in the living room was in a bad condition as was the mattress. However the kitchen was new and the shower unit was not bad.
The site has a good shop (with cheap baby wipes etc) and a bar and 'chippery' (I recommend the Beef Madras - Yum!). The only problem we found was that the bar does not open until 7pm which when you are on your hols is a bit late, especially when you have been touring Pembrokeshire all day. They also have a kids club and bingo every night so the adult caberet etc ends up starting at anywhere from 9.30 onwards.

If you are disabled and are led to believe this caravan is right for you then I would disagree. It has a ramp leading into it but aside from that there are no other alterations and also has no parking outside which others do have. Also the site is on a slight hill which made pushing a heavy buggy up a bit breathtaking so I am not sure how easy it would be with a wheelchair.

Our caravan was situated in a nice spot with a patio area and room between caravans but there were some which were behind the clubhouse which looked crammed in and a bit on the through road. I had also been advised before not to book near the touring field.

The site is in a great starting point though and we got around a lot of the area easily. It is not really an easy or quick walk into Saundersfoot but there is a bus which runs from outside the site. However parking is easy enough there if you want to drive. Unlike other reviewers we had no problems with access in and out of the site and we were generally out before 10am.

All in all we would definitely go back again as it is good value for money. Perhaps we will use the pool next time which looked lovely!

Excellent all round. Staff all very welcoming, caravan of a good standard. Evening entertainment excellent especially for the kids. Pool was a godsend as we had quite a wet week weather wise.
Good local attractions too! Will definitely return. Shop staff extremely helpful, prices for essentials such as bread, nibbles and emergency alcohol were all very reasonable, as were the prices for drinks and food in the clubhouse

Stayed here for two weeks at end of j

July/first week of August. Arrived with high hopes after all at nearly thirty pounds per night(2 adults 2 kids +dog in folding camper with mains)its not exactly bargain territory. The site and facilities are well kept, the staff friendly. The pitches are hardstanding and so bring suitable pegs if you have an awning but they are reasonably level and of a good size.

The toilet facilities need upgrading as they are really out of keeping with the rate charged. There are a total of four showers, three shared between male and female and one inside the womens toilets, also only four toilet cubicles in the ladies, not really enough for the potential number of people on site. The club on site is reasonably priced and also does bar snacks but the entertainment can be very loud. There is also an indoor pool that is well kept,a small if somewhat pricey shop on site.
There is a childrens play area but my kids said it was rubbish-cant argue with an expert opinion also kids cant use bikes ,scooters, rollerblades ect on site. Given the sites hilly nature perhaps no bad thing. In all pleasant enough.

We stayed at this holiday park in May half term, we are campers in a tent, yet all the pitches were hard standing! we had to pitch our tent at the back of the hard standing pitch on the bit of grass behind. We went with friends and as I booked them together I presumed we would be next to each other, but when we turned up we were a pitch apart! Fortunatley this was resolved but there were no smiles from the staff!
The facilities are ok, but they do lock the ones at the front of the site in the evening and they don't get opened until 10am, again not too helpful when in a tent and the other shower block had ran out of hot water!
The play area is ok and the indoor pool is ok, but there is nowhere to change there, so if like us you go on a wet and windy day it's a bit nippy running from the pool outside, up the steps and round the corner to the shower blocks to get dressed!
On the plus side it was very close to a lot of fabulous days out and the beaches in Tenby and Saundersfoot are wonderful.

What a difference, we went a few years ago and to be honest it left an awful lot to be desired, it's now a fab site, prices are very reasonable the facilities are very good. Staff very friendly and helpful.
It's approx I mile to Saundersfoot and can be walked to via a back road ( where you will find plenty of pubs and eateries, butchers, bakers, greengrocers and Spar shop as well as seaside shops). There is also a very good bus service that stops directly outside the park entrance and goes to Saundersfoot, Tenby and various other places.
We had a great holiday and will definitely be going back next year.
