Visited Sunnyvale holiday park Saundersfoot on Tuesday 21-03-17 to book 5 nights, when we went to the reception they informed us that from this year 2017 they will not be doing Touring caravans, we were really disappointed.

Webmaster's note: We have spoken to the site and they confirm they will no longer take touring caravans, motorhomes or tents from the 2017 season. Holiday homes only now we're afraid.

We stayed here in August a lovely base to visit south Wales and especially Saundersfoot. The site could be a little cleaner - shower rooms to pool were blocked each time we went swimming. Toilet rolls were not supplied and our caravan had a little damp patch on the ceiling in the living room. Entertainment was ok but for the children it was the same routine every night.

Had a long weekend at sunnyvale in may and really enjoyed it the kids had a great time in the pool, and even more fun with patch the panda in the clubhouse at night.

The pitch we had was a nice & big all hard standing which is nice, the showers as others have said may need a little updating but were very clean when I had my shower and I see the cleaners in there a couple of times during my stay so I assume they are cleaned various times throughout the day showers blocks only get dirty from the people who use them is what I say.

Had a brilliant time and will come back again maybe in a static caravan next time instead of my tourer.

Hi just returned home from this campsite. This was in a good location for visiting Saundersfoot and Tenby. Disappointed with the site. The play area I feel was not suitable for young children, my daughter tried to climb up to swing as they were quite high and fell in the mud underneath. No bikes scooters or skates around the park, wish we had known beforehand. Showers are all individuals and my husband had various problems with each one he tried to use, the utilities room was locked when I went to wash up, I spoke to the manager who advised that we should of had a code when we first arrived but didn't. Due to the problems we encountered I asked for our money back on the way home as we had only been there the one night and was booked up for 3 but they refused as the pool was in working order and the kids club was still going ahead, even though that started at 7pm which is past our 5 year olds bedtime. It was handy the pool was open for the time of year as others sites they are not. We found this site more suited to static caravans and would not recommend the site for any touring caravans at all.

I'm not one who usually reads or leaves comments/reviews but we really should have read the reviews of this site before booking because a lot of them are actually very acurate.

We have just spent a week at this site & whilst it is very easy to find & perfectly placed for visiting the fantastic Tenby & the very quaint & tranquil Saundersfoot plus all the other fantastic attractions the local area has to offer. There are unfortunately parts of the site which were a bit disappointing. When we arrived and checked in at reception, the lady was very helpful & told us we could pitch on any empty spot on the touring field, she gave us some site info & our £5 electric card. We found a nice pitch (all of which are hardstanding) slightly sloping but close to the touring field shower/toilet block. There appeared to be a lot of sited tourers around the field.

Unfortunately the Showers/toilets were mainly the issue (as other members have noted) they are old & tired & in desperate need of a refurb. Neither the toilets nor the shower cubicles got cleaned once for the entire duration of our stay, one of the toilet doors had no lock on it, & there was no handwash in any of the containers just a couple of small pieces of soap bars which were stuck to the sinks. The water in the showers was very warm (and Free) which was very nice but the actual shower cubical itself was dirty & many times lot's of flies/bugs & the odd giant flying beetle joined you whilst you showered. There are no extractor fans fitted to take out the steam either. There are other showers up in the static area which looked slightly better but too far to trek to from the top of the touring filed.

Another problem we encountered was great difficulty in getting the electric card to register in the meter it took me at least 15 minutes before the credit was taken, the first card lasted us till the day before we were due to leave so we had to buy another £5 card (min amount available to buy) which is also non refundable so when we left there was over £4 credit for the next person to enjoy. The one thing that would really worry me if my kid's were a tadge older and allowed to go to the shop or arcade by the clubhouse alone was they are very close to the site entrance which has no security barrier to stop any old tom, dick & harry wandering in from the road right outside. The clubhouse was ok, though I did think the drinks were pretty expensive. The kids entertainment was reasonable from what we saw of it but it was very repetitive each night, didn't watch the adults entertainment.

The shop was of a good size but poorly stocked with the usual essentials most people require. Didn't try the swimming pool! however it looked quite small & apparently it's quite cold too. There is also a disused paddling pool outside on the patio area which didn't have any water in so was full of leaves & dirt which was quite off putting. The play area was ok but like the shower block on the touring field it was very neglected as when we did use it there was dog poo in the entrance (next to the no dogs sign) & there were empty lager & pop cans scattered around. The grass around the site was cut twice during our stay yet all the cuttings were left so when wet they were brought back to the van in clumps on the kids shoes. The large wheelie bin/skips dotted about could also do with more regular attention as a couple were overloaded.

Overall the touring side of the site could do with the attention the static side gets and it seems that the owner is gearing the site to be of a more static park than half'n'half as there are a lot of new statics gradually making their way up & around the touring field. Overall for the cost of the holiday I was very disappointed with the standard of this site.

Just returned from a 5 night break at this site.

Pitch was expensive which did not include electricity and we had to pay £4 per night for our dog

Park itself was clean enough but it seems that the owner is concentrating on his seasonal clients and sitting static vans. Work was being carried out all over the Easter break including tarmac being laid on Bank Holiday Monday

The pitch we had was near the shower blocks which was sloping and uneven and took us 1 1. 5 hours to set up due to levelling problems (No we are not novices but have been caravanning for 15 years - That's how bad it was)The toilets and showers were basic with little visible cleaning taking place. Also the chemical waste was blocked more than once which resulted in smelly effluent running down behind our pitch.

I have no issue with the owner running down the touring pitches and facilities but this is certainly not reflected in the prices charged.

The area of Tenby and Saundersfoot are beautiful and that was the highlight of the trip. We will not be visiting again.

Just got back from a 3 night stay. It was Easter but we paid £35 a night then you have to pay for your electric on top.

First the good news. Location is very handy for a 30 min walk into Saundersfoot. Now the bad. And there is quite a bit !

Work has been done recently on the touring site but piles of chippings muddy raised drains and huge yellow painted boulders everywhere. Bins not emptied lots of rubbish lying about and basic facilities in a very poor and dirty state.

The shower block I used had paint and plaster peeling off the walls, no working lights and the water was pretty cold.

Sunnyvale Holiday Park is one of the better holiday parks in the Tenby / Saundersfoot area. The park is clean and tidy, well laid out, and there are always helpful staff around to sort out any problems that may occur.

We've been to Sunnyvale six times over the last 18 months. And we've just spent the New Year week there with our 3 boys and 2 other groups of friends. We all had a great time and are already looking to book again.

The entertainment is fantastic and you will need to look long and hard to find a better clubhouse entertainment host than 'Deano'.

The location is another plus point for this park. Saundersfoot is just a few minutes drive whilst Tenby with it's 3 beaches, can be reached in under 10 mins. With attractions such as Oakwood, Blue Lagoon, Canaston Bowl, Folly Farm, Heatherton, Manor House, Dinosaur Park. What more could you ask for?

We paid £35 a night to stay here and had to pay £5 for an electric card (which wasn't needed, still £9 left in the meter). The site is mainly seasonal pitches which left only about 7 pitches to choose from which were down in the bottom corner. The toilet block is right up the top of the seasonal side of the field, there were plenty of toilets but only 3 showers which were in a poor state. We used the showers by the booking office which was a fare trek. Clubhouse was ok but doesn't open until 7pm. Pitches are uneven and drainage is very poor at the time.

Not recommended for those needing to use the facilities such as toilets and showers. The touring areas are mainly used by tourer caravans which are seasonally pitched. Its clear that not a lot of time or effort goes into making the facilities accessible or hygienic for those needing them.

We pitched in the only available space which was down at the furthest corner from the toilet and shower block. The area was littered with dog mess, there was a ditch next to us with stagnant water in which was rather smelly. We had absolutely no information during booking in so were completely unaware of the electricity cards which are required sold in £5's. That is until it ran out at about 11pm one evening! Our neighbours had the same experience so it strikes me that everyone is getting the same treatment.

Its a gorgeous area of wales and we will continue to visit saundersfoot but not at this site. All in all, not a great experience but Saundersfoot is a wonderful holiday destination for families.
