We are currently at this site as I type. We arrived today with our two dogs and our small caravan.

I have read the other reviews, and understand what some people have wrote. However, I've just had a wonderful meal in the pub on site which was great. Our dogs loved it too as they where allowed to stay while we had our dinner.

The owners have already gone out their way to help us out, we arrived with no cash to pay them for our stay. They simply told us to set up chill out and sort it later which we did once we got to a cash point.

We have used this site previously and thoroughly enjoyed it, but this time - oh what a shame!

The camping area is almost full of people on 'permanent pitches' leaving very little space for anyone else to come and enjoy this site. I would really advise ringing ahead to check availability. We had a folding camper, and our friends a tent. Every other unit was a caravan or motor home. Packed in like cattle does not do it justice. On previous visits we have been afforded space with our pitch allowing beautiful views of Delamere forest, but no more. A line of caravans blocks it from sight.

Dogs were roaming free where once they were supervised by owners. We sat and watched a dog foul the field and wander off, the owner nowhere in sight and the 'Do not allow your dog to foul the fields' proving completely ineffective.

The pub was holding a birthday party and we enjoyed the revellers returning at 4am shouting, singing and swearing.

Having said the that the food was still excellent and the staff friendly as usual. A nearby field held what appeared to be a rescue horse, donkey and shetland pony which my daughters enjoyed tremendously, but its not enough to outway filling the site with permanent pitchers and the constant revenue this brings.

The facilities are basic, and we were rather alarmed to find the gents toilets locked after 10pm. The chemical loo disposal point is an old toilet and its a case of tip it in the loo and flush.

After confirming booking by phone (they only had my mobile number - no name!) we arrived and had to tell them it was £15 for the night not £20 as girl behind bar suggested. Site was more than basic and pitch had seen better days.

Pub food was lovely and we used the toilets there as unaware of toilet block or that there were showers as neither were pointed out to us.

After 20 years under canvas this was our first trip in our new caravan. A 7 day stay over Easter and the site was busy for caravans but not for tents. The site facilities were poor, no hot water in the run down toilet block, single shower looked old and operated by token from the pub. They were a long way from the camping field too.

Still it did give us the chance to try out all the facilities of the caravan and make sure it all worked. Frustrated by the regular raiding of our awning by local dogs.

For £15 a night we expected more, though the location and views were excellent.

Only a small compact site. I stayed for two nights with electric hook up. The touring field with hook up points was very small and most of the touring caravans seemed to be there on a permanent basis so there wasn't many pitches to choose from and they were quite close together but having said that everyone was friendly and I had a very pleasant stay. There were lots of kids running around but they weren't noisy or unruly and seemed to respect other peoples privacy.

The toilet and shower block was clean and well maintained(it looked like it had recently been painted) although there was only one shower which you had to pay for at the pub if you wanted hot water. I never used the pub but it looked like a popular place with the locals and there was no disturbance to campers even on a busy Saturday night. The menu looked good too.

The dogs were allowed to roam and so long as you cleaned up after them no one seemed to mind.

The area itself was superb, excellent walks through the forest to the Delamere visitors centre although some kind of map or information board would have been handy for those who don't know the area. I will certainly be returning to this site but I think I'll go mid week when it's less busy.

Stayed on site for one night when attending a concert at nearby Delamere Forest. The Forest View Inn is relatively easy to find, located on a corner plot. Just park up in the car park, book in at the pub then the staff let you know where to pitch. Cost for tent for one night - £13 - nice and cheap. Friendly staff, very helpful with directions, nearby shops, etc.

The toilet/shower block is located near to the side of the pub, in the static caravan section of the site. The toilets were clean but basic and could do with another mirror over the washbasin, as the only mirror in the ladies' is the one in the shower room! The shower is located in a small separate (lockable) cubicle with its own toilet and handbasin and is operated with a card, which is bought in the pub.

There was a small playground in the centre of the statics section but as we don't have kids, we had no use for it.

The site overlooks the valley and forest in a quiet location, depending on other campers (revellers stayed up until dawn when we stayed, although that's not necessarily the management's fault). After pitching our tent in the afternoon, we were able to sit and relax with a brew listening to the soundcheck for the concert in the distance, with the sound being carried over the forest and the valley, very chilled!

There is no clubhouse or shop, although there was entertainment in the pub on the Saturday evening and staff will give you directions to the nearest stores if you need anything. Wish we could have stayed longer to sample the Sunday roast (£5.95).

If you are thinking of staying here for one of the summer concerts at Delamere, when we were there the management put on a shuttle bus to and from the concert for £5 a head. We decided to walk it instead, this being a 3 mile, 20 minute walk down the lane at the side of the site and through the forest. Very pleasant walk but would recommend a good sense of direction and a decent torch for the return journey as there are no lights in the forest (we managed fine but heard of someone else walking round in a circle twice before they found the right way!).

All in all a decent but basic site, which would be a good base for people visiting the forest park at any time of year.

Visited campsite for one night as attending a concert in nearby Delamere Forest. Easy to find from A49/A556.

Very basic site - one shower and sink (no hot water)in ladies, 3 toilets but one without a seat! Couldn't find anywhere to wash pots so ended up bringing them back with us. Tap and toilet block was a fair way from where we were allowed to pitch but to be fair there were lots of people staying. Tents were pitched extremely close together due to high numbers but we managed to find a fairly flat spot at the bottom of the field (don't think it is usually used). Pub on site but we didn't use so cannot comment!

Generally a little run down but fitted our purpose - 1 night stay - though wouldn't return for a family camping trip.

Delamere forest about a 30 min walk away (45 mins to visitor centre).

Very peaceful spot though not on the night we stayed. Lots of signs about cleaning up after your dog maybe as a result of some earlier reviews left on here. Paid £13 for one night in a small tent. Would've expected washing up facilities and general washing facilities to have been better for this amount.

Booked site for the Northwich Thundersprint. Great site just far enough out of Northwich to be quiet without being too far away. Lovely view of the forest. Half a dozen other tents on the site thankfully all mature so no rowdy teenagers.
Water tap was a few yards away at end of small camping field. Pub was very friendly and toilets etc were fine although folks were having trouble with the showers. Cards were purchased in the pub for £1 but most didn't work when put into the meter.
Shops 5 minutes away as well as fuel. Great sie for weekend camping or for static caravans over longer periods. Delamere forest right below you. If you want a site with shops and a club etc book somewhere else. This ones great for real campers!

My wife and I took our 2 young children with us to camp for the weekend as it was near to the Delamere Forest. The attached pub although clean and tidy inside had a beer garden/children's play area which was in a bad state of repair, with dog poo in several places on the grass. There was also lots of rubbish round the front/side of the pub which smelt quite bad too.

The location of the site is wonderful, with fabulous views over the valley, lots of bird and wildlife around. The tent field is the best, as it is away from the majority of static and touring caravans and would provide a more attractive pitch.

We had electric hookup for our tent, and so were between 2 touring caravans. One of which looked to have been stationary there for some time. At 04:30am on our first night, we were woken by several young men, one of which owned the caravan, shouting, swearing and openly discussing drug taking right outside our tent. This woke our children.

The second night didn't get any better, we were woken at 12:30am with the same young men doing the same as well as playing music. Coupled with this, a caravan or tent further up the field had a party and played loud music and singing until 05:00am. .

Most of the statics there are not kept to a good standard and the site management could do with encouraging their tenants to tidy them up, as the site would be really nice if they did. The toilet block was ok, could have done with a clean but the electric shower was free (included) and ran nice and hot which was a treat - bear in mind only one shower so will get difficult during busy times.

The site is definitely a dog-friendly site, but as we're not dog owners, the dog poo all over the site became somewhat frustrating, our son stepped in some on the children's play area which was a shame.

Booked at short notice as original camp site was close due to bad weather.

Very accommodating and when I rang through they said they only had one pitch left so I took it.

Reception is actually at the bar in the pub and

I was asked if I wanted to pay on arrival or later, price was £13 without electric hook up, considering one night for a bank holiday Saturday this seemed resonable.

Girl behind the bar wasn't sure where we should go for the facilities i.E. Showers or to pitch the tent but was very polite.

You go through the static site and then down a rather sloping path onto the grass field below the tourers and statics to the campsite.

Pitch were you like is the order of the day and there seems to be a relaxed atmosphere to camping.

Lots of families on the site and a very friendly when we went. We pitched on a slightly sloping pitch overlooking a field with horses and cows which provided a rural feeling which the campsite definitely is.

The pub attached to the site serves food and the normal pump beers you would find at most other pubs.

We pitched and went off for a nice pub walk across to Delamere and then back to Norley, there is some brilliant off the road walks to be had around the area.

The toilet blocks could do with a little overhaul. My wife a light sleeper was up at 07:30 and had to queue for the 1 shower, I myself after waking at 09:00, cooking breakfast and then making way over to the shower blocks at 11:00 didnt need to wait. They are just a little grubby and could do with tiling, but as this is a small campsite I cant really see this happening.

I would consider going back again and would like to take my caravan for a weekend this time as the pitches for them are more elevated than the tents and provide a better view of the area.

You wont be disappointed by the site, but be aware that there is no direct public transport next to the site or a shop. Although we did venture into Northwich for a night out which is only a 30 minute walk to Cuddington station and then a 10 minute train ride. Taxi back was £18 if anyone fancies a late night out.
