Unit used: tent with children, backpacking.
Lovely views on site.Lovely walks in forest. Pitched on steep site on what is the 'dog walk'. Dogs running around the tent. Toilets not cleaned at all during our 3 day stay. Shower blocked and dirty. Long walk for water as none in field. Only a cold tap in toilet block. No dish washing facility. Charged £13 per night. Site needs updating and keeping clean. I am a life-long camper and I would say the facilities were lacking, and overpriced for what is on offer. If you are self reliant then it is great, if your a backpacker/lightweight camper give it a miss and book into the cheaper CC site at Delamere.

We stayed a couple of weeks ago, made our choice based on the reviews on this site, and we weren't disappointed. The site is lovely, quiet (until we arrived!) and has spectacular views. The toilet block is within easy reach of wherever you are on the site, and is clean - which is all that is needed really, if you want 5 star washing facilities, stay in a hotel.
We were really looking forward to sampling some meals in the attached pub, which was spotlessly clean, had a good range of beers and well stocked, and it had a lovely atmosphere. We were also looking forward to seeing some of the local sights.
Unfortunately, this being our first time camping we hadn't bought a good enough tent to withstand the elements, and we were soaked, all our stuff was soaked. Perhaps also a bit too ambitious with a 2 year old who would not stay in the tent when it was pouring down.
We went to explain to the site owner, Carol, and we felt awful as we had booked for 5 nights initially. She said she fully understood, was very sympathetic, and said it was a shame as when the weather is nice, it's lovely and we should come back again. Which we definitely will, with a better tent, and we won't be so ambitious with the time while little un is so small.
Well recommended to anyone, especially families. No criticism to give

First time we stayed here, dont think we will stay again, although the staff were friendly and the pub was nice. The site was not up to our expectations given the fact that it was £15 a night, the toilet blocks need to be overhauled, and as we were setting up we had to watch where we walked as there was dog poo all over the place. The dog walk was fine except that we couldn't let the dog off its lead as there were tents pitched in the field. Our dog was confined to the van due to the fact of the mess and other dogs not on leads

First time staying here, and might I say what a great time my wife and 2 kids had. The landlady was really helpful and friendly and made us feel very welcome from the start. Everything about the site was very welcoming, the owners of static caravans and people on the touring park, were exceptional and enjoyed having a drink in the pub Generally a fun site all round, the pub serves traditional pub food at a reasonable price, the views are excellent and is a close walk to Delamere Forest which is stunning I would truly recommend a weekend or a week at this lovely remote site, right in the heart of rural Cheshire.

Having just part-ex our caravan for a slightly newer one, we needed somewhere relatively close to home for her maiden outing! It was just pot luck Forest View had 2 spaces for caravans as we had travelled with friends.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The site does have many statics but we didn't find this a problem. The toilet and shower facilities could however do with an overhaul.
The views are outstanding, overlooking Delamere Forest. Just a ten minuted walk up the road leads you into Delamere Forest itself, how beautiful. We took the dog for a run round there and before we new it we had been out for three hours!
The campsite is quite compact to say the least and at one point there were four cars parked up the middle of the very small field. They did however move them later on to the car park. Some of the pitches are not very level but hey we can't have everything.
The dog walking field was brilliant for anyone with dogs and I must say I only found evidence of one visitor who had not been cleaned up after!
Beware try not to enter the site coming down Cheese Hill Lane especially with a twin axel caravan the turning would be impossible, luckily we read an earlier post and made sure the sat nav would not take us in this way!

Well I almost dont want to tell anyone about this site! What a find.
New owners (who will do anything to help, and are really friendly) have recently taken over and are endeavouring to make the site even more alluring.
Almost all pitches have electric, the toilet block was being updated at the time of our visit, but was still quite adequate.
There is a pub attached to the site which serves great food at a reasonable cost i.E. £6-£13 for a main course.
The site itself overlooks a wonderful setting of Delamere Forest and is a fantastic gateway to Wales and the Cheshire sights.
Highly recommended *****

What a great little site tucked away looking over Delamere forest! True its seems mainly for statics, but the field for 'true' campers is just great, if a little small, with the views of sprawling fields and the forest. There is a pub onsite, which serves food until 9pm and has a play area for the kids with a couple of swings and 'climbing frame' (more of a ramp up and down but my two daughters thought it was great).
Its a stones throw from N Wales, Manchester and all sorts so if you want a base camp to drive from its fine. If you want a quiet couple of nights getting away from it all its right for that too.
We booked ahead and were glad because the field filled up quickly. There are a limited number of powered pitches available. We paid £12 for our trailer tent for the night, which included electric, AND they accept dogs. Which is nice because my dog thoroughly enjoyed hurtling across the fields at full pelt. You pay at the pub, then pitch your tent. The bar is well stocked (magners and bulmers) the food delicious and well priced and the staff were so friendly, we had a great time and are going back in a couple of weeks. Go and try this neat little site out because it won't disappoint.

This site could be ideal for families if the owners was a bit more selective in who they let on their site the last two times I have camped there we have been troubled by noisy youths who have been drinking and shouting into the early hours of the morning. The last time was quite bad which was on sat 26 April 08. A good point about the site is it attached to a country pub near Delamere Forest. Most of the site is made up of statics caravans.

Great little site with a fantastic pub - stayed over New Year, new owners are great and really made you feel welcome. Plenty of room for dogs to run around in (dog walk in a field) which they loved. The price for the pitch was great with EHU - £10, showers are a bit of a trek, especially in the night but have been assured that they are hoping to introduce more in the new yr. Prices in pub are reasonable too. Despite having the pub attached and running alongside what appeared to be a busy track road it was lovely and quiet.
Had a great time and would def revisit especially over the new year - not far to stagger once youve seen it in in style!

This site has good points and bad points. It is a small site attached to a country pub near Delamere Forest. Most of the site is made up of very established (and often quite old) statics. The camping / tourer field is quite small. There are about 10 EHU's all on grass with space for camping without electric. When we visited the field was very full with both tents and caravans (bank holiday). The emplacements are not marked out and you just pitch where you like and pay in the pub. It has to be said that considering how many people were camped it was very quiet and everyone behaved considerately. The view from the camping field is lovely, you can see right over Cheshire and as the name suggests you have a great view of the Forest. The pub is really nice, it does good typical pub food which is nicely presented and my OH says it serves a great pint. There is a pleasant beer garden. You can cycle or walk directly from the site as the roads are very quiet. It is about 3 miles to the Delamere Forest visitor center. The big downside of this site is the shower blocks, they really need refurbishing with just one shower which you pay a pound for and old scruffy facilities. There is no hot water (other than the shower) we saw men taking flasks to the shower block presumably to shave. Also the play area consists of 2 old swings. It is very dog friendly and lots of the statics had big dogs. A word of warning if approaching form the M56 (particularly if towing a caravan) be careful of directions on map finder as it takes you on a single track road. The best route is to turn off Norley Road on to Cows Hill Road, you will eventually see the pub on your right.
