This is the second time we've been to this site and it won't be the last. We managed to book the same pitch. We love everything about this site and it's owners. They very kindly lent us some tent pegs as we were short. It's a fab site for a couple of nights or even longer. Love the pitch sizes and the chilled atmosphere on site. Facilities on site are very good. We didn't have kids with us but I'm pretty sure if we did they would have been fine on site. Plenty of room to play. Great for shopping around the area. Will definitely return.

We visited in September and the site was still busy initially. Very well used by the British it seems, there were many there and even the hook ups were British plugs not French! The pitches are of a very good size with some extremely big, most with 10 amp electrics – however we managed to fuse ours twice and the owner got quite grumpy! The site advertises it has Wi fi but this is only immediately next to reception and is quite intermittent. We had a fair amount of rain, and the grass is not kept short on the pitches and therefore your feet get very wet very quickly. Equally the trees between the pitches are all overgrown both in width and height and therefore you see very little of the sun. Pont-de-Vaux is only a mile away with a supermarket, petrol and all the shops you will need and there are some lovely villages nearby.

This is the only French campsite we've ever gone back to for a second holiday. It's still as lovely as ever - quiet, spacious, well maintained, lovely atmosphere. We cannot recommend this site too highly. All the points in our 2011 review still stand.
We would only add - do take a drive over to Cluny and enjoy the vineyard countryside. Mont St Romain has breathtaking views and a badly maintained approach road! We also had a long day out driving towards Gex and enjoying stunning views of Mt Blanc, Lake Geneva and Geneva itself.

What a lovely site! Friendly helpful owners, far away enough from the motorway to be quiet, but convenient to get back on to continue your journey. The pitches are huge, ours was very private, in a corner, backing onto farmland. There had obviously been a lot of rain prior to our arrival, some of the pitches were very soft, and one van had problems getting off the pitch. The toilets are clean and well cared for, the swimming pool is small but clean and well maintained. The owners are very eco aware, and only allow green toilet fluid. No shop on site, but fresh bread available each morning. It did seem to be a popular one night stop, we had new neighbours each night we were there, some leaving very early the following morning.
The local town of Pont de Vaux is interesting, and we drove to the top of Mont St Romain for some stunning views.

What a great site. A small site with a selection of different size pitches, some of which were huge. It's got a small outside pool, chips cooked 3 times a week, whiteboard with weather & what's on locally, and just a really good vibe to the whole site. It's got free wifi and a very helpful owner. Shopping is a car/van ride away as site is in middle of countryside. The toilets/showers are in a very well converted portacabin type building but all v clean & fine. We loved this place!

We used this site as a stop-over on our way back to Dunkirk - we did not book, but there was excellent availability. It is a lovely site with some of the biggest pitches I have ever seen.
The pool was excellent, although a little on the cool side when we were there and the smaller pool was closed.
We only stayed one night, so did not sample any of the on-site takeaways that visit, but the reception area had everything we needed for a quick stop-over - bread to order, ice cream, wi-fi and local wine !
The sanitary blocks were very new, clean and with plenty of hot water. I think they have changed their policy of free washing machines though, as they were charging when we were there.
We did go into Pont-de-Vaux, as my son had an ear infection and we needed to visit a local GP - all very easy to do and the numerous pharmacies were all open past 7pm, so we easily sorted out some anti-biotics for him. It is a nice looking little town with many boats moored on the canal there and several restaurants.
Although there were a few children around, this seems to be a campsite for the slightly more mature - with many Brits and a few Dutch staying whilst we were there. It did mean that it was lovely and peaceful though - just what we needed after a long drive.
The owners were really helpful and we would certainly stay there again.

This site is Fantastic.
The owners of the site are doing really great work making this site a pleasure to stop at. The work in recycling and Eco that is being done would put many sites to shame.
The size of our pitch/s (two visits) was more than big enough for our 7. 8m outfit and the access was very easy. Both toilet and shower facilities are very good (toilet roll included) and the bread delivered each day (ordered the day before) was very good.
The pool area was kept spotless at all times and I was able to wear my normal swim shorts (not the speedos).
The market in Pont de Vaux (Wednesday) is really good with excellent fruit and Veg.
I can recommend this site and will be stopping here again.

We visited this site for the first time and were very pleased with the sizes of the pitches as we do have a large motorhome.
The toilet and shower blocks were very clean. Could not believe the washing machine and tumble dryer were free! The swimming pool although small was very clean and refreshing.
The owner was very accommodating and spoke a little English. We would definitely visit again.
One night the pizza van came and cooked on site, would recommend also you could order frites from the site another night. There is a wifi connection but you do need to be close to the reception.
The small town is close by. Pont de veaux. There is a very good supermarket, another in the town. There are a few restaurants, one has free wifi connection.
There are good cycle routes which are well sign posted.
Lovely site.

Ist Class site, modern facilities, but retains rural and rustic charm. Massive Level pitches, shaded and open. Swimming pool and children's round small pool both uncovered but spotless. Please note that although the pools have a fence around them they are unsupervised. The owners live next to the site, speak English and are very helpful. Showers and toilet blocks were all very clean and we never had to wait. There is a washing Machine and Dryer on site which you pay to use direct at reception, the cost of washing was 4 euros, we did not use the dryer as the weather was good to dry on a line. Bread etc can be ordered at reception, a pizza van visits. And Chips are cooked on site at various times of the week see notice board. There is a large supermarket approx 1. 5Km from the site, you can also get fuel there 24/7 by cash or if no cashier you can use card at pumps.
We stayed at this site for 12 nights, there was a good mix of families and couples, mostly Dutch and english and the site was quiet after nightfall. It is an ideal base for exploring the Burgandy and Beaujolais regions and we would very happily visit this site again.

Just got home from a 20 day stay on this site. It's excellent. It's a quiet, rural site - 54 pitches.
The site itself:
Pitches - you can choose your size of pitch. We paid a 2 euro per night extra fee for a 'super emplacement' - 400m square! Room for our marquee size Outwell Arkansas 7, car, trailer, table and five chairs, AND our own badminton court! Immense! It's a tidy, pretty site; pitches are hedge/tree marked and mainly level. Majority of units are caravans/trailer tents, so we were in the minority. Lots of Dutch and English people, not many French. Many return visitors, some on their 20+ time of visiting! We were handed a set of rules to read on arrival (which included the one we're now used to about no swimming shorts in the pool). The only one which worried us was a 'no non-breathable groundsheet rule'. Yes, ours is breathable, but with an Outwell carpet on top. ? Soon realised that no-one kept any of the rules anyway - there were swimming shorts in the pool, the barriers never went up or down, so the last entry/first exit rules were ignored. We decided not to worry about our groundsheet.
Toilet blocks are ok, well cleaned. Unisex with washing cubicles. Good free showers. Washing up is inside same block. Perhaps numbers of all facilities a little on the low side, but never a real problem, even in August.
Owners lovely, friendly, helpful. You can use the freezer in reception to freeze blocks, free of charge. Free equipment includes books, games, badminton, table tennis, magazines. Two pools are lovely. One is round, same depth across. Other is larger, rectangular, just out of adult depth at one end. Some sun loungers and chairs. We had the pools to ourselves on several occasions! Small kids' play area, petanque pitch, volleyball net, free wi-fi, good local info.
Owner cooks 'frites' 3 nights a week - book in advance. Pizza van comes another night. Bread, croissants etc delivered daily. One night, there was folk dancing in the owners grounds, free of charge.
Area:
It's not a mega tourist area, but we loved it. Classic rural France. Plenty of rivers/canals. The huge R Saone just down the road. To the west, rolling vineyards. Watch out for distant views of Mont Blanc to the east! We visited Cluny, Tournus, Macon, Bourg en Bresse, Cuisery (the only one we found a let down), and had a long day out to Geneva (1. 5 - 2 hours and a 40 euro vignette!) and a closer look at Mont Blanc.
Practically - St Benigne has a well stocked Atac supermarket, only about 1. 5 miles from the site. Pont de Vaux is lovely, with a lake, river with pretty bridges and a great market on Wednesday. Head to Macon and on the outskirts is a vast Auchan which sells everything you could possibly want. It also has a Flunch restaurant - choose your main course then help yourself to vegetables, chips etc and second helpings! (Kids thought all their birthdays had come at once!)
Climate:
We had great weather, apart from two dramatic thunderstorms! First week and a half temp was mid twenties, but then soared in third week to 35+ and stayed there. Apparently this is unusual.
Overall, we would rate this site VERY highly and would like to return.
