Was really looking forward to 17days here. Our pitch was overlooked by the municipal pool, to be fair we did ask for this one only after looking at reviews on here and other sites. Was told pool only opened weekends. We arrived on a tuesday at 3pm, very noisy screaming crying and the lifeguard screaming his head off. We thought may just be a one off. Wed had 7hours of screaming etc, talking to other folk they were not happy. We left on the thurs. And when we went to reception was told by mr curtis don't have your hols in july/aug then. After going to lot of sites with our grandchildren with big pool comple this was the worst one for noise and it was not even the site pool. Also on arrival asked what time to order pizzas he said after 7/45 so went then, ordered paid and after 20mins he said no more pizzas tonight. Very rude man. We where telling a couple about the site when we moved to millau and they said very clicky with british. Very true. So we had a lovely time nr millau only 2brit families on site and very friendly french dutch etc

This site is well located between the walls of the town of Navarencx and the river. It is easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants. A good choice of shops and restaurants.
The site is very well laid out with hedging between each pitch giving a good degree of privacy. The sites are very big with room for large awnings (like ours) and still plenty of room for tables and chairs to sit outside.
The site facilities are excellent, well laid out and very clean. You don't have to walk too far to get a shower or go to the loos as there is more than one block. The site is eco-friendly so uses solar energy etc for water. There is a lovely swimming pool which unfortunately closes in September.
The owners, Richard and Wendy were very welcoming and helpful offering suggestions about places to eat and shop etc. They seemed to take a personal interest in their guests.
This is one of the best sites we have been on and rather spoilt us for the rest of our trip as quite a few sites didn't measure up.
There is good walking and rafting in the area and it isn't far to Pau, the largest city in the region. The Pyrenees are close by and easy travelling for day trips.
We will definitely be going back to stay here and would recommend it to others. `

This is a very good site with good sized pitches enclosed by hedging. The great thing about this site is its close proximity to Navarrenx which seems to be a a typical local French town but with medieval origins. The river is close by but as fast flowing we were not troubled with midges etc. The campsite pool is well looked after and there is also a large well kept public pool right next door which was not intrusive to the campsite. We walked our dog along the grassed moated area under the town walls. There is limited walking by the river as private farmland comes right down to river edge. The owners are very helpful and we borrowed local walking route maps. When our cheep chairs collapsed they gave us good instructions to the local camping hyper store for replacements. They also helped me with my schoolboy French when I needed a hair cut at the local salon. The washing and toilet facilities are adequate and kept clean but a little utilitarian. I think this is because the site used to be owned by the town council until present owners took over. The site is well lit at night. This is very good site for a relaxing and quiet time.

Camping Beau Rivage has to be the best campsite I have been to. It is small and perfectly formed with 50 or so pitches so it never felt croweded despite it being practically full when we stayed.
Wendy and Richard are lovely and made us feel very welcome, giving us advice on nearby places to visit.
We requested a shady pitch which was perfecly situated, with a view of the playarea so we could safely let our kids roam! There was a mixture of English and French campers, all of whom were extremely friendly and many who had previously visited.
The facilities were superb, very clean toilet and shower block, great hook up, water tap adjacent to our pitch. The swimming pool was really great, perfect temperature and spotless. Peace and tranquility all around!
Navvarenx itself is beautiful, the walled town is right next to the campsite so all the bars and restaurants are within easy reach. A Carrefour supermarche is 5 minutes walk, as are shops, the doctor, chemist and the post office.
The wider area around is beautiful too - we had a great day out to explore the Pyrenees, and had fun at the Ski resort of La Pierre St Martin - approx 1 hour 30 mins away. We also visited nearby Pau and enjoyed strolling around the historic quater and shops.
I cannot recommend this campsite highly enough - you will not be disappointed!

Pheeweeee it was hot. Just returned from 2 more great weeks at the Beau Rivarge under canvas. What can we say, a great camp site in a wonderful location run by two of the nicest site owners you could wish to meet, full up with the nicest campers! We spent a bit of time trying to catch trout out of the river with no joy, but haho a great fellow camper handed over 3, so if we had not been trying we would not have had smoked trout & salad for dinner that night. Having said all that I hope there will be room for us next year.

We stayed at the site for 10 days in our large Wolf lake 7 tent. Pitch size was good, & reasonably flat. Swimming pool is a good size, and was a blessing on the hot days we had. Toilet & shower blocks were perfectly functional, and well maintained & cleaned daily.
Richard & Wendy will make you fell very welcome, giving details of local events, & where to go. The site is professionally run, with periodic checks being conducted, but not intrusive. They are always on hand should you need anything.
Location of the campsite to the town is excellent, a mere 10 minute walk & your in the centre. Local facilities near by for fresh bread, meat & vegetables available from local artisan's. Failing that, a mini carfore (supermarket) close by. Good location to the coast, & Pyrenees national park.
All in all, a great site, run extremely well, which caters for couples & families alike.
Would definitely stay again

Went here based on the UKcampsite reviews - found it to be wonderful - cant wait to go back. Suited us wonderfully.
Lovely welcome. The site is located in a right next to the river and with a lovely dog walk. The town is really nice with pastry to die for. Toilets were great and found the whole ambiance to be welcoming and relaxed.
WiFi worked great and was for great value with a strong signal at the motor-home pitch. Access to the site was fine and the central location was great - but also with a sense of peace and away from the noise of town.

What a fantastic camp site run by some of the nicest people you can find. Most things have been said already if you read the reviews, however I would just like to add my bit. This is one of the most relaxed laid back, welcoming sites we have stayed on, so if you want to really unwind drop in at the Beau Rivage for a couple of weeks. We stayed next door the most hospitable fellow campers your could want to find in Sue & Colin and Christina & Alan, who won the boules match again, was it the British??

What a great campsite this is. Just outside the walls of the historic town of Navarrenx in the foothills of the Pyrenees, it is an ideal base to explore the mountains and also within easy reach of the Basque coast. The town has all services, including bars, restaurants and supermarket.
You'll receive a warm and friendly welcome from the hosts, who were unfailingly helpful when our car broke down, which meant we had to stay extra nights. We can highly recommend the pizzas which are available every night in high season. Freshly cooked in a pizza oven, they make a delicious and reasonably priced alternative to cooking yourself or eating out.
The pitches are attractively delineated and spacious, mostly with some shade. Ours was serviced. The showers were clean with plentiful hot water. There is a swimming pool on site and just outside a larger public pool. There is also a children's play area.
We would highly recommend this quiet and friendly site. You won't be disappointed if you book there.

What a fantastic site this is! We were introduced to it four years ago by friends and have come every year since and have booked for next year. We have stayed here in both a caravan and a motor home, both were a complete success.
The pitches are a very good size, both serviced and unserviced, with plenty of room for awnings, lounging, tables and chairs, etc. There is a lovely swimming pool on site and a public pool just outside. Richard and Wendy Curtis are excellent hosts and Richard makes beautiful pizzas every night during the season.
It is situated on the outskirts of the 14th century bastide town of Navarrenx and is ideal for a real switch off holiday. There are good restaurants and bars in the town, all within walking distance and of varying prices.
There are plenty of things to do - Rafting and canoeing, places to go - Artouste train, Chateau Laas to name but a few. One of the best sites we have ever stayed on.
