We have been here a number of times now and have always found the site to be very clean, tidy and quiet
There is a some electric hook ups and you can generally choose where you want to park up
It is not a busy site at all - in fact if you want the sun ( lol ) a cuppa and to sit and listen to the birds this is the place - no noisy kids or other residents around here
There is a lovely clean toilet block with a couple of loos and showers and hand basins for both male and females - but no disabled facilities but then I am sure you would be able to use these no problems
There is a sink to wash up outside and usual stand pipe for cold water and facilities to empty your toilet waste etc
There campsite is a largish field with a small lake in the middle which I often feed the large koi fish and carp in which seem very friendly and come up close to you to be fed
There is also a larger lake to one side that the fishermen go on to do their thing !
And if you r stuck for a bacon buttie then the resident site warden who also lives on the site in his caravan will gladly make you a bacon buttie or a cuppa for a very reasonable price
It is a bit of a hike about 10 mins to the nearest bus stop either in the lane or go thro the back way into southview and catch the bus there (which is what we tend to do) and bus it into skeggy about 10-15 mins into skeggy depending on traffic)
Much easier than trying to park in skeggy
Nearest shop is on southview or do what we do- go into town much cheaper
Site fees this year is £14 for our caravan with an additional £2 per night for awning and this is the same price all year - no price hikes for bank holidays or peak season
We will be back again in 2 weeks and cannot wait
A great quite site - it is not butlins so be warned just grass, fish and birds !

Birchwood was well kept, tidy and peaceful. Jack the warden was very helpful friendly and approachable.
Despite the lack of pressure of the showers, the toilet block was always kept clean. There was the added advantage of being able to fish in the nearby pond. My husband had great pleasure in participating in this hobby.
Would need a car however to get to Skegness. Skegness is your old fashioned seaside resort; amusements, pier, donkey rides, seafood kiosks, fish and chippies and not forgetting the fair.
Talking about the fair, nearby in Ingoldmells is 'Fantasy Island' with a gigantic fair and the largest outdoor market in Europe.
All in all had a fantastic fortnight here and would consider going back.

The site consists of a medium sized field with a small fishing lake to one side and the site is surrounded by a tall confer hedgerow. The grass was mown and the overall impression was of a neat site. There were about a dozen electric hook ups.
The toilet block was modern and clean and the gents facilities consisted of 2 toilets, 2 urinals, 2 showers and 2 sinks, the female facilities were presumably similar also an external CDP.
There is a single external washing up sink with hot water to one end of the toilet block. The toilet facilities could come under pressure during busy times.
The pitches are not marked and allocation was informal which is a refreshing change to more regimented sites.
Anyone taking small children should be aware that there is no playground and vigilance is required due to the proximity of open water.
The anglers said that the fishing lake was well stocked and a bargain at £4 a day, they were certainly kept busy hauling fish out.
Very minor niggle -lack of a waste bin by the washing up sink.
Overall this is an excellent clean site and I would definitely visit again.

This site is a must if you want a nice quiet and restful stay. Only a small site but well worth a visit. Good clean and new toilet/shower block, 2 showers and 2 toilets in each but as its a small site that's fine, the showers are free as well so no trying to find a 20p. The site office is a caravan which can be found as you drive into the site, staff are friendly and helpful. Some electric hook ups are available. Would I revisit this site?, yes, it's what we wanted and only 1.5-2 miles from the front and small and friendly. Cost me £16 for a ten berth tent no electric for the one night.

We visited this site recently when the weather wasn't very good. The site is small and very well looked after. The toilets and showers were always kept very clean. The fishing pond is on site and well stocked and well looked after. It is a quiet and safe site about a mile and a half from the main town of skegness.
The site manager Jack was always on hand and very friendly. We enjoyed our stay here and will definitely stay again. The only downside is there is nowhere to exercise dogs. There is not a lot for children to do (although children will always make their own fun) and the site is mainly suited to the fisherman. My husband enjoyed many hours fishing here. Many thanks to the owners.

We've been here once before last year, and we decided to have may bank holiday here based on how we found the campsite previously. The site is quiet, sheltered, well looked after and the owner Martine is very friendly & helpful. Then there's Jack, who is the site warden, he'll answer any query's to the best of his knowledge & ability without hesitation, plus he is the lake bailiff as well. The toilets are kept clean, as are the showers, one drawback of the showers are that they're of the push button type, so every 30 seconds or so you have to push the button again. There are also disabled facilities, which you have to ask the owner for a key. At present there are 18 hookup points for tourers, and ample room for tents.
All in all we found this site excellent for it's fishing ( if that is your thing, but not exclusively ), facilities, atmosphere, tariff and it's close proximity to skegness town centre, which is about a mile from the site.

We wanted a quiet yet friendly site and found it all here in abundance. Jack (from site office) was very helpful, got my son interested in carp fishing, caught his very first one here, loved every minute, or should I say 3 days non stop. The owner of the site was very friendly and helpful. Lovely set out. Sheltered, clean and very tidy. Only 5 mins away from skegness-ingoldmells.

I believe the site was in its early stages. The toilet & shower block was new & well maintained. The site was nice & quite. I enjoyed it so much last time when we went for 5 days, I'm going there again tomorrow for a few nights. First impressions were great, now lets see how it is tomorrow when we turn up, looking forward to it:)

We visited this camp sight mainly because of it's excellent value pricing. We were very happy with the size of the camp site and and found that the staff, who were on site 24 hours to police the camper and fishing very friendly and help full to the point of giving my children a bag toffees when we first booked in. The front area looks a little like a building site and the shower kept going from hot to cold but overall I found exactly what I wanted at this site. My children could run around and play without me having any worries whatsoever and we were close enough to Skegness to get to all the attractions, pubs and shopping (Via Car). We will without a doubt return for many weekend breaks and probably for our main holiday as well
