This site was easy to find and had easy access. The field was well maintained and there was lots of space for camping and a small gravelled area with a few electric hook ups. The walk along a bridleway to the beach was easy and took about 15 minutes and the beach was clean and safe for families with a cafe serving good food and snacks and toilets close by.
Sadly the facilities at Tregedna campsite are not particularly well maintained. The ladies showers were out of action, there are two I believe but I didn't actually see them as the ladies were all told to use the mens showers. Luckily there were very few campers on the site so there wasn't a queue. There was always plenty of hot water. The toilet block was very basic and not very clean.
This campsite location is very good but the dated and grubby facilities let it down. A good clean and a few extra toilets and modernised showers would be an improvement.

We have just come back from Tregedna and we had a lovely time. The ladies who ran the site were very friendly and accomadating. The facilities were very basic but spotless. It was vety busy becasuse of the tall ships and perhaps the facilities were too few but it was an exceptional event. The pitches were on a slope but you can choose where you pitch so with some shuffling about a flatsh pitch can be found. For £8 pppn and 3. 50 for hookup it was great value especially as its a 15 minute walk to the beach.
I would recommend this site if you like proper camping, basic facilities and away from it all.

Stayed for 3 nights in Early August in a 2 person group.
We booked a few days in advance and this seemed like a good idea as the campsite seemed fairly full throughout the weekend we visited. The location was easy to find using Sat Nav and the owners were friendly and gave a nice and helpful induction about facilities and surrounding areas of interest.
However found the facilities were just not up to a great standard at all. There were only two male cubicles and toilets constantly smelt and were never clean, constantly covered with grass and mud. The same applied to the female cubicles as well.
Only two shower cubicles each for male/females. 1 was constantly blocked and so pooled very badly. The other also suffered from a lack of care and cleaning. Hard to pick a time to find when the showers were warm as they always seemed to be cold. Other facilities include 2 large sinks to wash pots/pans and coin operated washing machines. Electrical hookup was available for a fee per night for those who wanted it.
The owners seemed more occupied with mowing the lawn every day at some extremely early hour which provided a great alarm clock if you're an early riser, or a rude disturbance if you're like me. Also explained why the toilets seemed to be covered in grass constantly.
For families with children, this place seemed an ideal choice though. The site includes a swing set and a see saw and a mound which the children seemed to find interesting.
Maenporth beach is a short walk away, which provides a cafe, ice cream, the excellent cove restaurant and some nice waves for bodyboarding. We were able to walk down the road (30mins) to a nice pitch and putt / mini golf course.
The walk all the way in to the falmouth via swampool beach is also very possible, takes about an hour and sections offer great views of the sea and coastline. If you don't fancy the drive in, the 500 bus goes every 2 hours into falmouth. Otherwise a taxi costs no more than £10 one way.
Overall, the facilities were not clean and not up to scratch. After the first initial introduction, the staff seemed rude and didn't care. The location was good however, so spent as little time in campsite as possible!

We planned to stay here for 2 nights on a recent roadtrip of Cornwall. We were using site as a base to visit main areas (Falmouth & The Lizard for this site). First problem was that we tried to phone this site all day before arrival. They answered once but connection broke. We couldn't get in touch with them after that so tried our luck by just arriving. Luckily as we were out of season, there was lots of space. On arrival, we noticed that this was pretty much a farm that decided to have camp site plots. The site was £20 which was I was very surprised at. If we had known that before and seen the site, we wouldn't have stayed.
Site was a nice walk to Maenporth beach where we stopped for a drink at a restaurant - but nothing else there.
Toilets were shocking to be honest. 2 showers for men, 2 cubicles and 1 urinal. You could see people standing in the urinal from our pitch as the main toilet door wouldn't close!
The best thing about the site was that the owner leant us a large TV aerial as was needed to get any signal. They have 'booster' connections by the EHUs. Probably wouldn't stay here. Advice to owners - hire a full time receptionist to answer phones as we had to go to their house a couple of times.

This is an average campsite. It is in essence a field - not particularly pretty or manicured but quite level. There is a site shop for bread, eggs and milk etc and it's conveniently located for Maenporth beach (walking distance) and Falmouth centre (car or bus).
The site is child friendly and there is a play area with wooden seesaw etc but this is right next to the camping. If you would prefer not to be woken at dawn by children on the play area its probably best to mention it when you book!
The toilet block is basic but adequate for a short stay.
This campsite is ok but there are better sites in the Falmouth area

Really mixed feelings about Tregedna, will start with the positives. The site is in a beautiful area, 10 minutes to Maenporth beach(walk),Falmouth,Helford River and many other wonderful places.
The owners were very pleasant and helpful(could have been more helpful, see later) and the site although on a slope is well maintained, the shop is open twice a day which supply such things as milk, eggs, cereal, sweets, toilet paper etc.The kids enjoyed the small play area with seesaw and swings and there are washing and drying machines for a small charge.
There are several EHUs, these pitches are on slightly more level ground.
Now for the bits we did not like.
The showers and toilet facilities are clean but poor, ok the site was busy, however two showers (mens) was horribly inadequate and by 8am the showers were cold and water had become a dribble! Toilet block- 2 x cubicles,2 x sinks & urinal was not sufficient for the amount of campers in August. The washing up area has only two sinks so expect a wait.
Now what really angered us is that although the owners had mentioned the site would be busy, they by no means made it clear that the annual ‘nipper’ surfing lot were an absolute nightmare! Large groups of kids running havoc, it was like camping in a playground, their parents were not bothered and seemingly neither were the owners? Having had to put up with that racket all evening they then get up at 6am and seem to forget every other camper is still sleeping!
Would we go back.
We would give it another chance, mainly because it was the surf group that ruined our stay and not the site, but may be tempted to look at a few other campsites in the area first, and before you go make sure you ask if there are any large groups staying!

Stayed at this site for 3 nights in May.
Just me and my dog.
Directions good - easy to find and not far (10 mins drive) from the towns of Falmouth and Penryn.
Site was quiet when I stayed - I think I saw about 6 other campers in the 3 days.
Slightly sloping field, grass was cut whilst I was there.
Facilities were ok for me - but as I said site was very quiet.
Can't remember seeing a shop or anything - but I had everything I needed with me already.
There is a big Tescos at Penryn (10 mins in car)should you require supplies.
Friendly staff - although I only saw them once and had no need to ask for any help/advice.
Close to a small quiet beach. Plenty of space for dog exercise. Good value for money. Lovely setting that really catches the evening sun.
Will visit again.

We have just come back from a 2 week stay at Tregedna.
It is a lovely site and I'd definitely go back again. The people were friendly and the area was lovely.
There seemed to be quite a few hook ups and more than one drinking water tap.
There is a small childs play area near to the shower area.
There are 4 ladies loos (no idea about mens sorry!), 2 sinks and a dressing cubicle in the toilets.
There are 2 ladies showers (again, not sure about the mens) one of which is slower than the other. These are in a barn with the washing up facilities (2 sinks) and a washing machine. Machine washes well and costs £3.50. There is also a tumbler which was £1 a go which seemed to get you around 20 mins drying time.
The site is very close to a nice beach and a 24 hour Asda is about 10 mins drive away.
All in all it was a great site, my only very slight gripe was the ladies wasn't always quite as clean as I've seen elsewhere.
This definitely won't stop me from going again next time!

We stayed here a few years ago and were made to feel very welcome by the owners and some locals who stay on the site in their caravan while they rent their house out over the summer. They were full of recommendations for places to eat or visit during our stay and were very helpful when our tent sprang a leak!
It is a basic site, with clean but simple facilities. Hot showers that are free to use, washing up points and a small shop. It is ideally situated for exploring some of the local area. A short drive into Falmouth and 40 minutes to Newquay. It was reasonably priced and fairly quiet to say that it was the summer holiday.
The beach at Maenporth is a 20 minute walk but we drove the car down (5 mins) and paid £2 to park at the beach all day. It's a lovely small beach with a great little cafe that does good food. This is one of the main reasons that we would go back.

Only spent one night here but found it to be a pretty good site. The older of the two ladies running the place was very helpful, although we found the younger of the two rather brusque (maybe she was just having a bad day. ?). The slope of the site proved an issue for our cars, as owing to the heavy rain we were unable to drive across the field. However, when the sun was out it was fine
The facilities were very good (despite the spider sharing my shower in the morning!), and the local beach is gorgeous. Quite a trek to the nearest big shop, which I think was Asda, but it's a small price for a nice rural location.
