Stayed at this site for a couple of days on our way south. Agree with people about the high hedges, it did seem to make the pitch claustrophobic, but other than that it's a lovely site. The sanitary facility was the best we have ever seen on a European site, spotlessly clean toilets and showers, with plenty of washing up/laundry sinks together with washer and drier. Our pitch was very near the swimming pool, and we loved the hustle and bustle of the youngsters enjoying themselves. As a couple we have stayed on 'adults only' sites, and we know which we prefer! The town close to the campsite doesn't have much to occupy you, but Le Puy De Dome was brilliant. We walked to the summit, the view was well worth it, with hang gliders taking off below you, and a view of the surrounding volcanoes and Mont Blanc 100s of miles in the distance, perfectly visible. Clermont Ferrand with its cathedral built from volcanic rock was well worth a visit. We found the site value for money, but we got it at ACSI rates - 16 euros per night. A really lovely area which we would love to explore further on another occasion.

Stayed for one night stop over from Calais to the South of France. The site is about 450m from Calais. It is located very close to the motorway.

Facilities are good, swimming pool (small speedo trunks needed), very clean toilets and showers, looked like they have been recently updated.

Pitch was adequate with high hedges that cut out some sun, this was good as it was about 34 deg.

Wardens very helpful and spoke good English. Security good with a barrier at the entrance. The site had a restaurant with take away food, very useful for just a stop over.

Pitch was a bit expensive - caravan, 2 adults, 2 kids with elec. About 50 euro.

You will need a continental converter on your power lead.

We stayed here for a few nights this month and were disappointed. The high hedges (well over two metres) made the pitch feel very enclosed and the pool was tiny with very little opportunity to find shade.

The site is pleasantly located in a beautiful area but, because of the hedges, you wouldn't know this without leaving the site. The facilities are clean and the staff helpful but I would not go back since the prices charged for a pitch are so high and nearby municipal sites offer better facilities for less.

We stayed here for three weeks in August and it was excellent. The staff, a Dutch family, were always polite, helpful and accommodating. The pitches were excellent - 100 square metres surrounded by tall hedges which provided shade or shelter during wet weather (the locals said it had been a poor summer this year.)

The bread van that visited every morning delivered newly baked bread, croissants and cakes - delicious!

The staff that worked with the children were kind, imaginative and kept them involved.

The large shower block was state of the art; there was always hot water and they were kept spotlessly clean (they were cleaned during the night and by section so that there was no inconvenience.)

The surrounding countryside and villages are lovely, there is a swimming pool, there are local tennis courts, a playground and 'Vulcania.' Clermont-Ferrand and Issoire are less than 30 minutes away. The campsite has an arrangement with a canoeing club for campers to have a couple of hours canoeing each week, for approximately 20 euros, with instructors.

We really enjoyed our stay.

As others have said an easy site to use, located near the motorway.

Good pool area, with water heated to a pleasant temperature; which makes it good for families. Washblocks in good condition were kept clean while we were there. There is a municipal play area 100m from the site as well.

The pitches with high hedging round them work well, though I personally prefer something more open. Access is OK for larger vans but some care is needed depending on where you are pitched because many of the pitches are in small bays and the junction from the main site road into the small bays are not huge if the roadside pitches are fully occupied.

A good base for exploring, with lots to do locally.

We would use the site again for a stop over or a couple of days.

I know that this report is rather old now but I would like to make a couple of comments. Firstly, the site is Dutch owned which is always a good sign with respect to cleanliness and facilities, particularly for the disabled. Secondly, there have been comments about the high hedges. They are necessary because of the very, very violent winds which can spring up in minutes at certain times of the year They do provide good protection. We know as we spend much time in the Auvergne.

The location of this campsite was great - really easy to find and quite near to Clermont Ferrand and the motorway to take you to Le Puy, although the latter was quite a long drive.

The campsite was very pleasant in appearance - great shower blocks and pool. And the pitches were fairly large with high hedges all around. The grass in the pitches though had pretty much died by the time we got there in August, so it was a mixture of sand or slimy dead grass.

This is a very family orientated campsite and at times, especially in the morning, was very noisy with kids shouting and running about. But then we're only griping, because we go to bed late and like our lie ins!

The owners allowed us to use our firepit/bbq, which is on legs so is raised off the ground so it doesn't scorch the earth. But despite that, I was suprised that this far south we were still allowed a bbq on our pitch - nice surprise!

We did have one huge gripe though about this campsite, which, if we'd been here for a whole week or two week holiday, would have been a very serious gripe. And that was that for the men, shorts were not allowed in or around the pool, speedos only!

So a fairly decent campsite in terms of the facilities, but very noisy and busy with kids and blokes have to wear tight speedos to go swimming - which for the ladies might not be a downside!

Stopped here overnight in winter on our way south. A good location easy to find just off the motorway. Large pitch with very high hedges. A good welcome & talk through from reception & pleasant local walks but did not explore locality as we were only passing through.
Most facilities closed for winter but small winter toilet block was more than satisfactory.

Used this site for a 1 night on route to Spain very easy to find just 3 kms from junction 5 A75 autoroute. The pitches are surrounded by high conifer hedges and although they might not be to everyones taste I quite liked the privacy , the owners were helpful and showed us to are pitch , the main shower block was closed because it is the middle of winter but a smaller shower / toilet area was available in the main reception which was heated and spotlessly clean there is also an attractive swimming pool and also a bar and bakery which are open during the summer season . We would certainly use again perhaps in the summer

 Mmmmm - what to say!

Sweet little site with welcoming hosts. Another good stopover. We booked for 3 nights only stayed for two as we felt the site lacked a little personality so we left to get on to the next one.

Hard site to get excited about really - new loo block very nice but really poor water pressure in sinks and showers.

No restaurant - bar is at the reception desk and drinks are limited. Small take away offering very cheap very basic food. Nuggets, chips, etc. Pizza's were tiny and of the cardboard variety!

Small pool complex, clean and really warm enough to keep little ones occupied for a day or two.

We did a trip to Vulcania which was good value at 50 euros for three of us. Interesting day out, the drive up and down the mountain in the motorhome was fun - try to stop at the view point on the way down if you want a photo opportunity.Wow!

Good place to use as a stopover for the south as big supermarkets within a couple of miles so ideal to stock up.

Would we use it again - possibly not the air raid siren (yes you did read correctly) that sounded at 4am on the second night was loud enough to have a health warning for those with a dodgy ticker! On the booking in sheet it said 'you may occasionally hear a loud alarm, ignore its just a practice' - failed to mention the 4am bit!
