The site was well signposted and the charge of £18 per night for the two of us and motorhome was excessive. The facilities were basic and when I asked if I could use the washing machine, the plug for the machine was being used to accommodate another motorhome EHU. For us it was the first stop on the Isle and I would not rate this site highly. If I were the owner I would build a completely new block for toilets etc. And the site would be A1.

We stayed here last minute after a sudden down pour soaked us we needed a shower and decided not to wild camp. The very helpful owner accommodated us with a pitch and hook up at a reasonable price.
The facilities although basic are clean and tidy and shower is hot. There are few facilities but then its a small site. We never had to queue etc.
View from the site over looks the bay where the ferry comes in, and the sites about ten minutes back to the ferry port.
There's nothing but great scenery and a relaxing atmosphere around this site and its worth a visit.

This site is possibly the best on Harris although a bit primitive it suits the surrounds. All facilities are serviceable and clean, even the CDP is just a plastic dust bin sunk into the ground with a hose pipe but it serves the purpose. There is 4 hook ups and plenty of room for tents. 2 toilets with basic wash basins, 1 shower. Nice helpfully owner. All in all a good touring site. 10 mins from Tarbert ferry.

We located the site easily as it is well signposted, but the approach road is not for the faint-hearted tower - narrow and twisty. Setting the caravan on the pitch was difficult owing to the small size of the site (we don't have a motor mover) & we were thankful that at the time we had the site to ourselves.
The pitches are very narrow and we had neighbours in very close proximity. At one time we didn't even have space to park our vehicle alongside the caravan & would have had no room for an awning. Ground is stoned and uneven so levellers are needed. Views from the caravan pitches are limited.
The toilet & a shower facilities are rather primitive and the shower particularly needed a thorough clean (we used our own facilities. The CDU is just a dustbin sunk into the ground, I didn't think too hard as to where the effluent went !
We would not visit the site again and considered it to be rather expensive for the facilities available.

This site was everything that we had hoped for. We extended our stay here to nearly one week and we can't wait to return.
The toilet block was more than adequate but don't go expecting ultra mod-cons. All the facilities are fitting with the area, and to our minds that just added to the ambience.
The owner is an absolute gem, very helpful and totally trusting, as are so many other inhabitants on this wonderful island
If you're looking to visit a site with beautiful views and walks -then this is it!

This is a small site with hardstandings and a grassy area for tents. There are hook ups, 2 toilets, a shower, washing machine and washing up area.
It is in a lovely, quiet area about 5 miles from Tarbert along the 'Golden Road'.
The toilets are basic and it was impossible to close the curtain whilst showering. Although the location is lovely,
I would not return to this site as the facilities did not seem to be very fresh.

A small site three miles down 'the Golden Road', not for the faint hearted as road is so narrow and passing places barely big enough for modern cars and vans.
Facilities were primitive but fairly clean, doors on both toilets were too small so you could see any one standing outside. We didn't try the showers.
Site can be crowded and ground very hard so was unable to put awning up but weather was fantastic so managed.
Owner very friendly and as we left a day early offered a refund which we refused.
Views out to sea were great and we were able to see the CalMac ferries arriving and departing

Lovely wee site close to the ferry terminal at Tarbert.
EHU, Hardstanding, Fresh Water, CDP, WCs, Showers, Washing Machine.
The vans are sited on a large gravel patch next to the owners house. We arrived on site in the dark so were completely bowled over by the beautiful sunrise streaming in the front window next morning.
Great walk around the loch for the dogs.
Ms McDonald, owner, was very friendly and full of useful information. Worth noting that the site is relatively sheltered from the prevailing wind. Stayed 2 nights.

Nice little site, could be quite cramped during busy periods. Only appears to have five EHUs.
Amenities are clean but quite basic. Maybe not a good stopover for families with young children.
The CDP is across a rather boggy area and is basically a plastic bin sunk into the ground. Not sure where the waste goes!
Very quiet and secluded but handy for the early ferry from Tarbet.
Good area for walking the dogs but mind the sheep.
The owner is very friendly and helpful and gives you a very warm welcome.

This is a site that is small but has everything that you need. The facilities were clean with two toilets and a shower plus a small utility room with a washing machine and washing up facilities as well as electric hook up and waste disposal.
As you expect on these islands facilities are not the most modern but this is a small peaceful site with amazing views. We could watch the Ferry to Uig from our van.
The site owner was helpful and gave us lots of information of where we could walk the dogs round the Lochs as well as having lots of info on the area in her small reception.
We paid for two nights but ended up staying for four and used this campsite as a base to explore both Harris and Lewis.
