Another fantastic holiday at Belle Vue, thanks to Tony, Kay and the family. Weather better this year and pool was a must on some days. Loveley to see 3 other families who camped last year again, the children, now 6 + 8 were straight out of the car and renewing friendships. In the past I have heard of families finding great sites and returning each year to see the same people but I never thought we should be so lucky, lets hope it lasts! Already planning next years holiday. One find this year was a great pizza restaurant in Rostrenen, in the square near the church, complete with wood pizza oven. Kays meals still fab, lots of home reared meat and veg from the garden. Loads of home produced produce on sale at the house, sausages, burgers, eggs, ham, chicken. You can nearly eat off the farm and not bother with the supermarkets.
Toilets still the same as in my last review although there is a new shower in one of them. Still clean!
Playground is basic, but the children mainly make their own entertainment and ours rarley used the slide or swing. Lawn is nice and for the younger children the play area & lawn is a nice place to play whilst parents look on, perhaps in a lounger with a glass of wine!
Lots of local walks and interesting places to see, we used the car once in 2 weeks! The car was used to visit the canal, about 15 minutes away, the tow path is perfect for cycling. Bike hire on the site.
Animal feeding in the morning and afternoon still a hit with the children, and me!
Pony rides still great value, although Branston & Ondine are getting quite old now.
Pitches are well spread out - this is very very important to me, they are mostly level and our large cabanon frame tent fits our pitch no problem.
I am going to stop here as I will give away too many secrets. We will be booking as soon as the ferry timetable is out to make sure of our place again next year.

Well what can we say, best site we have ever stayed at. Wonderful surroundings and welcome from Kay, Tony, George and the girls. Brilliant site for kids of all ages. All sorts to do from feeding the animals, pony rides, tractor rides, swimming pool, table tennis, boules, table football, seesaw, sandpit, football pitch, swingball, list goes on. You can even help them on the farm if you want with the horses, goats, geese, chickens, rabbits and cows.
The Moss family go out of their way to make you welcome. BBQ nights a must as while we were there all the campsite got together. By the end of your stay you will know everyone on site.
This is a definite recommendation if you want to visit France. Plenty of room for what ever size tent you have. If you don't want to take your own tent they have 2 large frame tents already pitched complete with working kitchen.
Thanks Moss family for such a wonderful stay. Darren, Amanda + Jade

Just back from our second visit to this site. We will be booking again for next year. The children had a fantastic time made extra special by a group of nice families on site. Nothing has changed really.
Great site if your children like nature and the outdoors. No play/TV rooms, so if the children can't entertain themselves or play with others this is not the site for you.
The local area seems to have done a lot of work on footpaths in the last year, or perhaps we have only just noticed the yellow signs. We walked a lot before the children arrived and I would imagine this would also be a great site for walkers to base themselves. We completed several short walks with the children without using the car at all.
Bikes and a tag along are available for hire on site. The area is hilly so no cycling for the very young from the site, however, pop your bike rack in the boot and then use it to take the bikes to the Nantes Brest canal a few miles away and you can spend hours cycling on flat paths. Bike hire is about £10E for a full day.
The evening meals on site are a must. Chicken & chips Sunday, BBQ Monday, site meal Thursday. Evening meals for campers are also available. We did this one night and it was lovely.
The marks for location and facilities are based on my view of a perfect holiday - in the countryside with basic but clean facilities.

This is a wonderful, friendly site for families wanting a quiet, relaxed holiday with plenty to do for the children. Tony and Kay are fantastic hosts - we arrived in pouring rain and were shepherded into Kay's kitchen and given tea before wrestling the tent up. They made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. Our tent is very large (Wynnster 16-man) but Kay had reserved the largest of the pitches for us and we had bags of space. The children loved this place - dashing off at 8am to feed chickens and milk goats, with repeat performances at 5pm. There is no expectation that you will help on the farm but if you want to, you're very welcome. My husband and 2 of our boys spent a couple of happy days helping get the hay in and riding on tractors. The pool is a little chilly but great on warm days and the showers were clean and hot.
BBQ nights on Mondays are brilliant, and a great way to get to know other families on site - and of course the food was fab!
The local area is really beautiful and Kay is brilliant at suggesting walks/beaches/trips, and even supplies directions and maps. Our boys (aged 7-13) are all desperate to go back next year, and I'd highly recommend this place.

This was our first visit and we really enjoyed it. We arrived in very bad rain, far too wet to put up our frame tent so Tony & Kay let us have the Farmhouse for the night. The children, aged 4 + 6 had a great time, helping to feed the animals and making friends. They will get more out of this site as they grow & we have already booked for next year.
Everyone was friendly & Tony & Kay could not have been more helpful. Kays meals were fab and the homemade sausages & brawn the best we have had. The children had pony rides & went fishing with George. It was a real back to nature & core values holiday.
We had already booked a follow on week at a 4* commercial site. My wife cried when we left Belle Vue and cried again when we arrived at the new site. We spent the next week wishing we were back at Belle Vue.
The rain was really bad, but the camping field absorbed the water very well, we had no problems of water entering the tent or mud. There is a fridge for everyone to use & showers are warm & powerful. The pool was clean & great fun if you ventured in! The toilet block was basic but functional and the type of clientèle attracted to this site made sure the toilet and washing up bowls etc were kept clean. We had no complaints at all.
If you have grown up camping and can remember when sites had space for the children to run and play this is a site to seriously consider.
This has been a great discovery for us.

Just returned from our second visit to this site (the kids insisted). What can I say - what a fabulous holiday! All my previous comments still stand - although I stand corrected on the size of the pitches. Our huge vango diablo 900 was easily accommodated! The hospitality is as good as ever, made better this time around by there being a few more campers about so we had some lovely social evenings.
I would make one extra point though - all that lush greenery does come at a price, when it rains, it really rains! Do make sure you have a decent tent - ours let us down last time and spoilt the holiday somewhat. We didn't make the same mistake twice and had a truly wonderful time! I can only commend Tony and Kay for providing a great holiday experience!

What can I say? A gem of a site, you are made to feel so welcome and part of the family, you can choose to join in or do your own thing. we joined in and experienced days out that we would never of done if not for Tony and Kays (and kids) knowledge of the surrounding areas.
Our 2 children (8 and 10) would live there, we had to be up at 8am and back from wherever for 5pm so they could help out with the farm animals (this was the best part of their holiday even beating Euro Disney).
The place is advertised as 'Farm Holidays' it does what it says.(for the previous reviewer)
Can't wait to go back.

Good Points;
Owners Tony & Kay are lovely and most willing to help
Lots of animals and your guaranteed to have lots of things to keep kids amused
If you like walking, cycling, animals great
The small play area is great
Bad Points;
Once you're bored of walking, cycling and the animals you've got to drive. Sloping Site. Too much like being in Britain: If you go to France to be in France, here they're all English!

We have just arrived back from this lovely site, Tony and Kay the owners were great hosts and will do anything for you. The best points of the site are the pretty setting and as we have children the animals were very popular (even though you may end up eating some of them at the bbq it is a farm after all).
We also enjoyed the swimming pool even though it is cold, the bbq nights are on monday nights and there is lots of food you will never go hungry. Also Kay does a meal on a Thursday night and these are good times to meet your fellow guests.
The local area is amazingly quiet and driving is easy Kay and Tony will give you lots of advice on interesting places to visit. The not so good points we found are the toilets and showers are busy during peak times as there are only three on the site and there seem to be more people staying on site than other years.
If you want a really quiet campsite and don't enjoy mixing with other people this may not be the site for you as you will be encouraged to go to the meals and play boule some nights. But for most people this will be a good point of the campsite. Overall this is a great campsite I would go back to Tony and Kay and there family will make you very welcome and your kids will love it.

Good points: small and quiet, only 6 pitches plus 2 existing mobile homes, a ready pitched tent and 2 gites. Solar heated swimming pool. 3 loos, 3 shower rooms. Washing up area. Play area for children (seesaw, sandpit, wendy house, rope swing plus plenty of tractor type toys). Visitors are actively encouraged to participate in helping with animals! (we milked goats, collected eggs and drove the tractor!). Pony rides on request.
Bad points: Field is sloping but flat spaces have been created for tents - downside is that that they are a bit too small for the large geodesic tent designs. No fridge/microwave/washing machine room. Despite these minor points, this site is fabulous. Quiet and secluded, beautiful wooded area. The owners Kay and Tony couldn't have been more helpful and hospitable. The weather for our stay was atrocious so we abandoned the tent and had stays in both a mobile home and the luxury farmhouse - both clean and well stocked with equipment. When we ran out of gas on a Sunday Tony found us a spare cooker; when our car battery went flat Tony dug out the jump leads; when our electricity cable was the wrong fitting he found us a new fitting. And he put up with my children following him round the farm all day asking billions of questions.
Seasonal meat raised on the farm is available to buy, plus free range eggs and vegetables and potatoes when available. Kay will cook a roast chicken for you, and trays of delicious chips are available in the evenings. They also do camp site BBQs in the summer. Although no washing machines, Kay will happily do a load for 5 euros. The swimming pool is superb and solar heated (although we only managed to try it in the rain).
We loved it - the kids especially can't wait to go back, and that says it all for me! Highly recommended.
