We stayed here for 2 nights en route to Loire Valley.
It is a pleasant site on the outskirts of a nice village and within an easy drive of Rouen and the coast. We spent a lovely day in Rouen.
The pitches are a good size and private. Some are down quite narrow entries but these mostly housed tents. We had a large full service pitch which was excellent.
Facilities were french and very clean, there were two blocks old and new.
The pool was small but looked nice, no time to sample. The snack bar and bar were again small but good. The lady on reception was lovely as were other staff. We were delayed by operation stack and arrived after latest check in but having phoned ahead there was no problem.
Seriously considering going back next year for longer.

Nice site and very easy to fine - watch sat nav unless you have a 'towing caravan' type as you need to access via the bridge on the D913 as the river ferries don't take caravans or motor homes. We arrived around 10am (overnight crossing to Caen) and despite being 2 hours earlier than official arrival time Madame was most helpful and allowed us to pitch up, there is a large lay-by just outside the camp site entrance where we saw other outfits later in the week - I guess this is an option if you can't get on earlier than 12:00. The site has a variety of pitches, each one surrounded by a fairly high hedge - not great if you are with mates. Our pitches were really shady and didn't get much sun at all and because the weather wasn't great, were rather dark most of the time. The facilities are really good - showers and loos spotless. Reception takes orders for bread etc ready for pick up the next day. The town of Jumièges is lovely - several nice bars and cafes, the area is great for cycling and the surrounding countryside is beautiful.

First the positives, good stopping off point as Rouen is sort of midway to where we wanted to go, very peaceful so great nights sleep and jumieges abbey is worth a visit. Negatives are. The site is tatty and needs a shake up. We had heard the fearsome reputation of Madame, confirmed by a couple just leaving, and we weren't disappointed ! The loos arent great but average for France I suppose?
Even though there is a wood on one side of you you have a trek out of the gate and round the site to access it when you walk your dog. Wouldn't go back there but it's ok.

On our recent holiday to France we visited this site twice, two nights on the way down and one night on the way back. I have read some of the other reviews but I really don't understand some of the complaints. Someone complains about the lack of English spoken. Get real, you are in France.
We found all the facilities more than satisfactory. The only real problem is access to the pitches with a touring caravan. The pitches themselves are of a more than adequate size, easily enough room for car caravan and awning but the roadways are very narrow and do not allow sufficient room for the swing of the car when reversing the caravan. Hence a bit of shoving is required. Not to difficult as the roadway is tarmac and level.
The local town is charming and there are supermarkets and fuel within 4 kilometres.
A handy stop after a tiring overnight ferry for a couple of days to really start your holiday.

We have just returned from a holiday in France and stayed at La Foret for 2 nights on our way down to Le Chaponnet, near La Rochelle and 1 night on our return.
The site at La Foret was excellent with very helpful staff, ample site parking facilities with full services and modern, clean toilets/showers.
Although the pool was quite small, my 10 year old twins had a great time.
The on site shop is a bit limited although there is a bread van that comes around each morning at 9. 00am.
The local town is worth a visit for the old monastery and a very helpful tourist information centre, located just behind the post office.
We will certainly visit this site again and thoroughly recommend it.
The only negative point for anyone travelling South as we were, is that if you are towing a caravan, be careful not to trust the Sat Nav!
This takes you to a river crossing at Jumieges where caravans are not allowed!
It was a bit frustrating after travelling some 7 hours to get there on our return journey and I completely forgot about the crossing.
Eventually we found a helpful french person who directed us to the 'Pont Brotonne' about 10km away.

Lovely quiet site, easy to reach from Dieppe and probably other ports, lots of lovely trees for shade and a great small covered pool and kiddy pool.
There is a small shop. We booked this site online and it cost 30 euros for our van and family of 4
I guess it's quite remote, we didn't visit the ruined abbey but would do so on future trips
WE found it great for our first night in France and would recommend it.

Booked for three nights through Caravan Club. £90!
I was really rather disappointed with this site firstly due to its location, in one of the quietest parts of Normandy away from a main town, about half a mile out of the village centre. My father and I cycled through the village - Jumieges to Du Clair on Saturday but nothing was open! A 30 min drive into Rouen introduced us to some history and culture on a very wet Sunday but it wasn't until we drove to the coast to Honfleur on Monday where Normandy really started to shine.
Secondly, the site itself is basic and the owners speak little English but I got by with my GCSE French which got me a few things such as two bikes for hire and a map. The site is tiny but the pitch was ok and being surrounded by trees (La Foret) it remained quiet - that is, until the bread woman drives around beeping her horn at 8:30am!
The pool was a joke! No changing rooms (the owner simply pointed to some shabby outdoor loos) and forget swimming lengths as the shallow end was near enough a puddle - it came up to just below my knees!
Toilets/showers were ok but lacked hooks and no toilet paper. Why?
This is a retired couples stop-over - I would not bring my daughter here.

Nice small site. Two toilet blocks the smaller one has very small shower cubicles and only one hook for hanging clothes so only take a minimum of things in with you. Madam on reception speaks some English but not much, previous comments have said she's unhelpful but I found her to be helpful as I struggled through with my very bad french. Bread van comes round every morning except Monday at about half eight. Site details say total cover wifi but it didn't extend to where we were by the television room. Nearest supermarket with petrol at Le Trait, . Reasonably priced restaurant directly opposite the abbey. , four course set menu 17 euros and all very nice. , they understood that British well done, means well done and not still raw ! Ferry at both Jumieges and Duclair not possible with caravan on two unless it's exceptionally high tide, don't try it unless you want a calamity. Weather wasn't very kind to us and pitch did get waterlogged.

We arrived at the site after a period of heavy rain and found that many of the pitches were quite heavily churned up, and had large pools of water on them.
In the 3 days we were there, in fine weather, the puddles were still in evidence.
The toilet blocks are good and clean, which is so important.
The walks on the other side of the Seine, up into the Forest of Brotonne are brilliant, and you get to go over in the free ferry which is great fun.
Our last visit here was in May 2010, and we remarked upon the dourness of Madame, nothing much has changed. There is wifi, but at 10 euros a day we gave it a miss.
We will use again because it is only 3 hours from Dunkerque, the facilities are good and most of all they take Vacansoleil cheques.

Visited the site twix 11 n 15 AUGUST 2011 on route back from the south. Todays date 14-AUG-2011, LEAVE THE SITE TOMORROW.
Seems that most of the visitors are either Dutch or British.
The site is generally very tight if you have a caravan or large trailer, interesting to see all the techniques reversing into tight spots.
The shower/ablution blocks are very clean and (sorry about the choice of words) a pleasure to use. The lights in the loos stay on all night, if your pitch is close to the toilets, you may be in for interrupted sleep as the toilets are frequented by jovial merry makers who visit at strange times, the camp security try their best to control rowdy travellers.
The local Abbey ruins are exceptional and are well worth a visit = the village and local area should also be visited.
Site facilities - basic in terms of shop/food.
Our pitch had its own water supply, electric hook up and grey water drain, surrounded by a trimmed beech hedge (does not keep out sounds).
The weather has not been kind to France in the last two weeks.
All in all - a nice site for stop overs - not for long stays.
