We stayed at this site for 2 nights enroute to the south. It is a nice quiet site with tall trees and hedges marking out the pitches. We have a large tent and found the pitch big enough for the tent and car. We did find the ground hard and stoney and I think rock pegs would be useful.
There are 2 shower blocks, which were clean and there was plenty of hot water. I am disabled and the disabled toilet and shower room was spacious and clean. My only criticism is that there is only 1 disabled cubicle in 1 of the shower blocks so if you are pitched on the other side of the campsite as we were its quite a long way.
There is no Bar/ restaurant on site and the shop didn't seem to be open whilst we were there. The village is a 15 minute walk away and has several nice places to eat. There is a pizza van in the square of the next village, the pizzas were lovely, fresh but expensive.
The Abbey ruins in the village are amazing and well worth a visit - it was 3 euros 50 to get in and free for me as a disabled person.
The on site swimming pool looked lovely and clean but unfortunately the weather was awful whilst we were there so we didn't get chance to use it.
I used my mobility scooter to get around both on site and to and around the village, there are a few small manageable hills, the pavements were fine and the campsite roads were flat.
We really liked this campsite, the surrounding area is beautiful and we'd definitely like to return.

We stayed Here for 4 nights, from 15th July 2011. We found the site very closed in and tight for manoeuvring as did others and much help was required especially with larger outfits. The toilets were fine with a large toilet block and smaller one. The Play room was basic with a pool table and pinball machine and a small TV on the wall. The play area was also basic. The shop was very basic with bread and eggs available in the morning. The Pool was only used on day 1 as the weather turned after that. It is small and clean. The village nearby is very nice and rustic, with a small grocery store, 2 bakers and several nice restaurants. There is a Carrefour and many other shops at Le Trait about 4 miles away. The Ferry's across the Seine were a great novelty and free, but don't try to go on with your Caravan as the river is tidal and the angle of the ramp would make this not possible. A visit to Honfleur is a must.
I would likely find another site, which was more open, if staying in this area again.

To find site:- From the northern end of the Pont de Brotonne take the D982 towards La Trait and then take D143 to Jumieges. In Jumieges follow signs to campsite. NB It would not be advised to take one of the ferries across the Seine whilst towing a caravan. Although the ferries seem large enough, capacity for 8 cars and height of 3 metres, access over the ramps at certain state of tides could cause a problem.
Camping de la Foret is situated on the edge of the village of Jumieges and is only a short walk from the famous Abbey ruins. It is open from April through to the end of October which is handy for those travelling during the Autumn.
There are about 75 touring pitches all on grass and separated by hedges. Many have their own fresh water and waste water point. They are mainly of a good size and some are quite generous. Access to pitches on the main site roads is good but some of the pitches are situated up short access roads and without a mover they could be difficult to get onto, particularly when the site is busy.
There are also static caravans on site but these are placed to one side of the campsite. Electric points are rated at a handy 10amps and connectors are European standard CEE17 blue plugs. There are two toilet blocks of a good standard with seated toilets with paper provided. During the Autumn low season only one block is open.
During the main season there is a swimming pool and next to Reception is a small shop. In low season a bakers vans calls each day. There is site wide WiFi provision and you can sign up online using a credit card. Its not particularly cheap, €15 for 3 days, but signal strength seems to be good. Camping Cheques are accepted out of the main season. Date of Visit late September 2010.
The local area seems to be quite fascinating and we only wished that the weather was better during our stay so that we could have explored a lot more. Rouen is not far away. There is a supermarket in La Trait about 4 miles from the campsite.

We stayed at this site overnight on our way to the Vendee in August 2010. We really liked this site. It has a lot of tall trees and it's small enough to be relaxed but large enough for the kids to run about and make friends.
It's pretty, feels quite remote, the perfect antidote to the stress of doing the hawl from the UK, perfect for a stopover. We asked for a pitch near the playground so they could scarper and play while we put up the tent and this worked well.
It was good ground for tent pegs.
The playground has a swing set and roundabout and a ping pong table, and is nice and central so you can see them all playing while you relax with a glass of wine.
Our EHU had reversed polarity so we used an adaptor which we'd taken with us to correct this.
The EHU pole was shared between several pitches so a little way away from us, we did just manage it without an extension lead but would recommend taking one or checking if they will lend you one from Reception.
As we got there late they had closed by the time we'd got this far into the boot to get to the EHU and do this bit so we'd have been right stuck if we hadn't made it stretch!
Pool looked cute, little slide for the kids - great for our age kids (7 and 5). However we upset our kids as the next day promised to take them in the pool once we'd packed up, got finished about 12 and off they galloped in the cossies and it closes for lunch! We didn't want to hang about til it reopened at 2 as we wanted to get on with our journey to the next site so we had to load 2 bawling kids in their cossies into the car.
Luckily they were placated by the charms of the ferry. This makes the journey south much shorter than going round, but I wouldn't want to take a van on there, it's too sharp a slope down and then up to get onto the ferry, which is a teensy thing.
Showers nice and hot, did the job, there were enough so didn't have to queue or if you did not long. Only the showers close at 10, loos are open all night.
We'd booked their for the return route stopover but we had torrential rain from about an hour south of Rouen so we carried on going and went straight up to the Eurotunnel.

Nice site. Used it as a one night stop off en route to port, and I think we were not alone. Was full the night we were there, so definitely need to book ahead. Although full, it had a quiet atmosphere. Used the pool, which was clean and warm. A take away was open for a few hours selling sausages and chips- delicious!
Facilities clean. My only concern was a notice saying that they shut at ten. I paced my wine drinking accordingly, but found them to still be open at half ten! If you don't have your own provision, this could be a problem. Didn't have chance to explore area, but seemed to be a lot to do. Would return.

Just returned from this site 5th august to 17th august with 2 adults with the following aged kids 16 (NEPHEW)14,10,7,5mths (sons).
The site is clean the facilities again are very clean, the showers (2 blocks) are looking tired with tile faces flaking off the walls but are usable and after 2-3 pushes of the buttons hot water runs. The loos are ok perfectly usable laundry sinks and washing up sinks are ok no problems. The showers are turned off at 10pm prompt (very useful as some of the Dutch and French guests get noisy at night in the showers).
We stayed on pitch 78 which was a luxury super pitch next to the loo blocks this had grey water point (unusable its in the wrong place )and water tap (our own) we linked this directly to our barrel so I had no water to get.
We measured the pitch and it was 8mtrs by 8mts, we were told prior to arriving it was 100mtrs sq minimum, and was down a drive which was about 2.5mtrs wide at the very widest (I am very experienced at reversing and managed it ok ) Most pitches were small with dead patches of grass all separated by established hedging, they need levelling as well a bit of care and attention and the pitches would be ok. The swimming pools are small, the small pool is tiny with a very small slide, the bigger pool is just really for small length swimming nothing really to do for older kids (we found the pictures we found on the website very exaggerated 'good camera work'. )
The play park is interesting for younger ones
We didn't use the shop so we cant comment on it.
Jumieges is a really nice village the bakeries are superb (six chocolate eclaires mmmmm very nice),the 2 pubs close at 8 the creperie in the village which although the service is slow is very nice and the owner is very friendly.(closed monday though)we did though visit the strawberry and apples tea room in the village centre and had the worst chocolate drink ever we sent it back as it was cold and came back just as bad I would suggest avoiding this place.
The lady in the tourist info was excellent very helpful.
The local farmers shop (just on the way out of the village) was excellent, the local ferries cut over 20miles off our journey to caen use them our kids loved them, the local lake and recreational area is worth a visit with a lake beach which the kids said was warm when they went swimming in it.
Good beaches locally (50 miles) deauville was brilliant excellent beach very nice are, fecamp markey on Saturday was really good, etretet is a lovely seaside stop but very busy you will struggle to park at any time. Honfleur is really nice a little bit like poole harbour pricey food but good.

We have just spent a very enjoyable half term week at Camping La Foret. We stayed in a mobile home rented via Vacansoleil, where half term is still low season. The pool was not open until the 15th June, but the pool area looked clean and tidy.
The mobile home was immaculate, well equipped and comfortable. The site itself has around 130 pitches, which appeared well looked after. The two services blocks were clean and tidy with ample space for all users and never seemed to be crowded.
There was a small playground with two swings, a rather stiff to push roundabout, a small slide and a couple of those see-saw-for-one to-sit-on toys. Also there was a concrete table tennis table, which we enjoyed and a sandy boules area.
The glass and plastic recycling were next to the refuse bins in two areas near reception and were never overflowing, even though the site was quite full, with very few empty pitches. The excellent bread man came round in the morning at around 8 to 8:15 with a single toot of the horn.
Reception had a good range of leaflets about the surrounding area in English, Dutch and French, as well as book library. The small shop in reception stocked a limited range of food and some excellent chilled local farm cider for 2 Euros a bottle.
The staff were pleasant and managed to understand most of my limited French. Monsieur would acknowledge with a smile and a wave as he went about his almost constant work on the site. Madame was a little less visible, but still pleasant when we did see her.
Overall a good site if you want somewhere quiet with no evening noise.

A nice clean site with varying pitch sizes. Some quite small but it was a lovely site.
We stayed 4 nights as the surrounding area is so good. A bus from the town square goers to the centre of Rouen for just 2 euros, much better than driving in and finding a parking space.
The ferry at Jumiege will take caravans at the discretion of the operators. It is a weight thing, maximum weight is 3.5 tonne per vehicle and about 20 tonne in total. So in quiet times you may not have any problems.
There are some fantastic walks in the woods the other side of the Seine.
Nearest petrol is just up the road in Le Trait at Carrefour.
Managers were a bit off hand but perhaps it is early in the season.
We will probably return.

We stayed for 6 nights in June, having read the good reviews on this site. Our first problem was a snappy, waspish receptionist - not a great welcome. Our second was that we were persuaded to have a 'larger' pitch (more cost) as we were staying for a reasonable time. This pitch was scruffy with long grass, sloping, had digitalis growing round it (we have dogs so a worry) and was very, very difficult to get into and off again. However, what really upset us was that to walk to the shops we had to pass two unpleasant houses: one of which had a great fat Rottweiller hanging over a literally 3ft wall, the other had two Rottweillers- obviously guard dogs -behind low fencing. None of these dogs liked our two dogs and set up a howling, barking and baying as we approached. We didn't dare walk past them with our dogs and consequently our holiday explorations on foot were ruined. Site not recommended (especially with dogs)

Used this site for a one night stopover on the way to the Vendee, easy to get to from Dunkirk (used satnav) got there by road going in but satnav couldn't get out without going on car ferry, modern & free but no caravans so could be a problem if towing, so have a look at map before setting off.
Smallish site with nice outdoor pool open til 7pm which the kids made use of while dad put up overnight tent.
We were given a well positioned, good sized pitch even though only overnighting. It backed onto the local football pitch, it was training evening so a lovely view whilst relaxing with my glass of wine, lol, seriously though not obtrusive at all. Takeaway pizza frites etc til 8pm & very tasty.
Toilet/ shower facilities (2 blocks 1 large, 1 small near pool) very good & clean with toilet roll.
Could walk to bars, abbaye etc although we didn't have any time.
Would use as a stopover again but would like to stay for a couple of nights as it was really lovely and relaxing.
