Well located site, spotless facilities in this site run by very friendly family.
Pitches roomy, didn’t feel crowded at all.
The Otters Den room with kettle and sinks was really useful in the really wet weather.

Stopover well located between South and North Uists.
New shower toilet block which was kept very clean. However no where to put clothes towels etc in the cubicles. Press the shower button until warm water comes before undressing. It takes a while.
Exposed site don’t bother with an awning. We paid extra for one but owners acknowledge that it’s normally too windy -no refund. Good shops locally. Good dog walk towards nearby beach.
Only place we stayed on the islands without a sea view. Grey water allowed to spill onto grass.
Felt the price was a bit expensive, but this is the Hebrides!

Welcoming and hospitable, facilities recently upgraded and clean with plenty hot water. Recycling in place.
Electric hook up available. Centrally positioned to tour the Uists.
Possibility of seals and Otters on beach at campsite.
Co Op near site and butchers/bakers too

Lovely family run site. Nicely placed as a base to explore the Uists or indeed as an overnight pit-stop for anyone passing through on their way elsewhere! Dave, Diane and Rosie are super friendly hosts, knowledgable and helpful and this was their first full season here.
The grassed areas are flat, drain well, are well cared for and great to pitch on 👍🏼
The facilities are spot on, well kept and very clean. The campers kitchen is a nice touch as it is also somewhere you could go and hide out for a bit if the weather is pants! Equally there is plenty of space to relax outdoors on-site and just a short walk away (over the dunes at the back) you can visit the beach and watch the local wildlife.
There is a decent supermarket just a handful of miles away and even a Chinese takeaway if you fancy something more exotic :)
There’s nothing to really fault at Otters Edge, although from chatting with Dave, the family are clearly in the process of putting their stamp on the place and have ambitions to make it even better. Good luck guys, and happy 2nd winter!

Owners and staff very helpful and informative, nice walk to a beautiful beach,
We used our own facilities but access to fresh water water, we were allowed to let our grey water drain as the site has a sand base.
New operators of the site, just their first year, only downside was we had to leave at 10:30 in the morning, we would have liked a more leisurely morning.
We would come here again.

A wonderful campsite with excellent facilities. There was plenty of hot water for showering and washing-up but sadly the washing machine was out of order.
The facilities and campsite were spotlessly clean. Dave, the owner, couldn't have been more helpful and friendly and had an excellent knowledge of the area.
There is a wonderful butcher's shop and Chinese takeaway about 7 miles away and also a local shop.
The location is excellent for touring Benbecula and Uist but also has a wonderful beach behind the site where we saw seals, porpoises and even an otter as well as many seabirds.
There's lots of excellent walking opportunities, stone circles, beaches and other places of interest.
We would highly recommend and we will definitely revisit.

Really nice site, owners look after you and are very welcoming.
They have recently taken it over and have already made improvements to the facilities and electrics.
Easy access to the beach. Great for dog owners. Cheers D&D
