Very Pretty site full of flowers and plants. We were made very welcome by owner who was very helpful. We enjoyed our stay here.
The only thing which lets this site down is the tired shower and toilet block. This needs a complete renovation. There is mould around the outside edges of the showers and toilets.
The shower and toilet blocks are cleaned every day, but this has not been thorough for a long time hence the build up of black mould in the corners and along the skirting within the block. Because of this I did not take my flip flops off when showering.
This is a shame as the park itself is so pretty and I can understand why it has won several David Bellamy awards, but these obviously do not take into account the showers & toilets.

Tehidy is a nicely laid out park with a great play park for our kids all aged under 6(they loved the trampoline, had to buy one when we got home. )Also good games and Tv room if it rains (note to parents, very steep concrete steps next to toilet block not good for small ones)
All facilities were spotless and a great family bathroom to herd them all through the shower, a problem with hot water was quickly fixed as soon as we mentioned it.
As said on other reviews the traffic noise was a little annoying it seemed to be a lot of lorries, but the site was almost empty and so was very quiet anyway.
Great position for surrounding area especially good at Portreath, fish and chips at carpark a bit steep and nothing special.
In a week we never did figure out directions we came back to camp a different way each time we left it.
We imagine the site facilities would get very busy when site is full but overall we would stay here again if in this area.
It was a shame and no reflection on the site when we left 2 days early but it was just too cold, minus 2 one night. Thanks DAD!

We had a wonderful six days at Tehidy. The campsite is spotlessly clean, well laid out and very very peaceful. Yes, there is road noise, but that is not as disturbing as the dawn chorus.
The staff are friendly and eager to assist in any way. Our five year old daughter had a wonderful time, both exploring the green areas of the campsite as well as using the children's park.
The location within Cornwall is excellent, although a car is needed to explore. We would certainly recommend this site to anyone.

Tehidy Holiday Park is well kept and staff very
Helpful. The toilet block was spotless and based
In the middle of the site, however the toilets
Are up hill and could prove difficult for persons
With walking difficulties.
The tent area had a hard standing for your car
This however can cause problems for pegging your tent, the tent area was on the small size and not easy to maneuver into with your car, however
We managed, some road noise could be heard.
All in all not a bad little site, local to a lot of site seeing and attraction.

What a lovely little site. Although the site is on a hill it has been structured so that all pitches were virtually flat. We had one of the top pitches and the sunsets were amazing. The site also had a number of cabins and static caravans.
The facilities were very good with two of the ladies showers big enough to comfortably get me and the two kids in. There is also a family/disabled toilet/shower room. All were very clean. Also the children's playground and games room were excellent and had WiFi. The WiFi also reached our pitch, although a bit patchy, depending of the wind direction! Not a problem as it was an added bonus when the wind came our way.
The staff were very friendly and happy to help with all queries, including good running routes and walks to the coast.
The location is very beautiful and also very easy to get to the main A30 road, which meant that we could get to so many beaches and towns really quickly. Tesco was only a 5 minute drive away and Redruth town centre only another minute further.
This is a really good site for central Cornwall. Beaches within a 20 minute drive include St Ives, Gwithian (beautiful drive along the coast), Portreath (nice and close for evening bodyboarding), Porthtowen, Perranporth (fantastic waves) and Newquay.

Our First static in the UK, a bit disappointed at the layout, felt too close to the other units, the tent area was nicely planted with hedging dividing, however the static area could have arranged differently to give a greater feeling of privacy,as it was windows lined up with adjacent units.
The site on the whole was very nicely planted, with wild strawberries and roses giving plenty of colour, given the weather we appreciated the tumble dryers adjacent to camping fields.
The site was in a good location, making access to north and south coasts easy.
The host was very nice and informative.
One thing that would be a fantastic facility to any cornish campsite would be a drying room, given the uncertain climate and the fact a lot of people have damp towels/swimsuits this would be a real plus.

This is a well presented clean site, and the owners are very friendly and informative. However, the pitch that we were on was very small (we couldn't put a side awning up as there wasn't any room and we couldn't put a front awning up because it was too close to the road through the park) I suspect this was a bit pot luck as the layout of the site doesn't give much room to manoeuvre. I would concur with previous reviews, the road noise was intrusive. The pitches to the north of the site (where we were pitched) back up against the road, so the traffic passing through was about 15-20ft behind us (check the satellite images!)

This is the best campsite I have visited in the UK by some margin. I would particularly recommend it if you have young children. Our boys (3 and 6) had a wonderful time playing safely on the swings and trampoline within sight of our pitch.
The owners are full of enthusiasm and have information sheets with recommended walks and beaches. This part of Cornwall is packed with great days out. We enjoyed a day at Eden, the boys adored Paradise Park (farm animals, small railway, trained parrots plus an indoor play centre for a wet day) and my train obsessed three year old loved the Lappa Valley Steam Railway.
A day on Godreevy beach was also superb and I have to mention the crab sandwich at the cafe at Coverack which was very welcome after a long walk along the beautiful coastal path.
I note the comments made by others about the road noise. We were bang up against the road boundary fence but it really didn't disturb us at all. There was much more noise from the birds at dawn. Maybe its noisier in the summer holidays?
The planting on this site really is unique. I would find my 3 year old in the middle of a patch of strawberries munching away, our pitch had rosemary, mint and sage which were very handy for the barbecue.
The toilet block was kept very clean and there was plentiful hot water. I don't like the push-release taps but I can understand that a site emphasizing its green credentials does not want to risk taps left running.
This is a quiet site with no entertainment, very limited shop opening hours and you need a car to get about so perhaps not suitable for older teenagers. For smaller children it is a lovely safe place.

Very nice site ,good clean toilet blocks excellent facilities for children trampoline games room tv etc. Small shop friendly owners. Only downside is the road which runs just outside of site, supposed to be a 30 mph. Redruth not very nice but if you have a car area is fantastic. We tended to travel to beaches evey day as we became keen bodyboarders and spent a fortune on them good fun though. Most beaches in the area are lifeguard patrolled if you want the best surf perranporth is a must very very busy though.

We know this site as we had stayed in a caravan last year so decided to camp instead. The overflow camping field has had major renovation and is closed at present but it should be open soon and will have well marked (hedges or fenced) flat pitches.
The downside of this site is that it will still only have a small toilet block for all campers which is quite a way up/down a steep hill from this field. The facilities are kept clean and there was always hot water but the site wasn't busy. There are excellent facilities for children both indoors and out and the site is well located for lots of beaches.
Sadly we felt that although the owner warned us of the road noise it had increased significantly since last year and it is adjacent to several pitches, one of which was ours, and we came home early as it was really intrusive. The road has become a 'rat-run' and is busy from 6am to 9am and again 4pm to 7pm. You really cannot talk to each other at times so please be aware if booking this site and ask for a pitch as far away as possible although the noise can be heard all over the site as it is in a dip in the road.
