We are relatively new campers having started camping last summer. Consequently this is the 6th site we have been on. To date it is certainly our favourite.
We arrived to a friendly and efficient welcome and were very soon on our pitch. First impressions were that it was a well kept, clean and tidy site as well as well laid out with lots of lovely plants, shrubs and trees.
The park or play area was great with a trampoline set in the ground, small climbing frame, swings and outdoor table tennis. This was busy every evening with children playing together. This too was kept clean and tidy and litter free. The games room was a bonus with TV, pool and football table games, a small library and board games as well.
The pitches are well laid out, terraced and reasonably flat. They are numbered clearly so that combined with clear instructions from Richard when we checked in enabled us to find the pitch with no hassle.
The shower block was also clean all the time as was the laundry room and wash up facilities. Showers were always hot when I used them and free as well. I think they must have an empty toilet roll radar as well as they were topped up as soon as they were empty as far as I could tell but I never saw anyone perform that task!
As townies we really enjoyed the amazing dawn chorus which woke us up at 4am but was so wonderful I was content to just lie there and listen and drop off to sleep again once the birds had done their thing. Our pitch was positioned in one robin's territory but he was a friendly chap and sang beautifully whilst perched on our wind-breaker pole and a constant delight to us.
We visited Eden, Heligan, the Lizard and found the wooded walk to Portreath from Illogan (the village just up the hill from Tehidy) so there was always something to do whatever the weather. As I believe holidays are what you make of them there is something for everyone if you use this site as your base and are happy to drive around. Eden Project in St. Austell is only an hour away (though a bit expensive at £16 per adult, £5 per child) and Land's End isn't much further than that(in the opposite direction) so there is plenty to do.
My 6 year old son and husband didn't want to go home and we would have been delighted to stay longer if we had the time to do so. If I had a criticism it would be that the road can be noisy at times but that's just geography and doesn't reflect on the site at all.It certainly won't stop us going there again! The owners told us they are putting up a sound proof fence to do what they can to reduce the noise so hopefully that will improve the situation soon.
Our first impressions were the right ones and we saw that the site was constantly kept clean and tidy.
Can't wait to go back! Maybe next year we will.

Excellent Site. Had a wonderful week here in a pitch that was opposite the children's park. Plenty of space for ten and car on pitch although there is also a small car park if you have more than one car.
EHU / BBQ slab and water to each pitch.
Lovely local foods available from the shop and the owner couldn't be more helpful. The road was right behind our pitch and although you can here the road noise, there is little traffic through the night.
The road through the camp is great with road bumps controlling speed. My 5 year old loved the park and we could see him at all times from our pitch.
Visited Fistral Beach (Newquay, Lands End, St Ives (by Train/park and ride) and Flambards theme park.

We came across this site by accident and what a find, we booked for 3 days and stayed 6! This site has excellent facilities and is a great base to explore the surrounding area. The owners and their maintenance man keep this site in immaculate condition without making it feel sterile. Excellent pub for food only 1.5 miles away. Several excellent beaches only a short drive away. We will be booking again

I visited Tehidy for 12 nights camping with my three children and found it to be an extremely friendly, well-managed site, close to lots of fun days out and superb beaches.
Facilities on site were clean and modern, and the children (11,13 &14)made full use of the play/social area provided.
I would recommend this site to anyone who wants efficiency without a huge site, and found all of Richard's helpful suggestions for days out, beaches, walks etc very valuable.
Both myself and another family we befriended have already booked our pitch for next year!

We stumbled on this campsite thanks to a serendipitous search on Google. The location is excellent with beautiful beaches a very easy drive away. It includes a very well stocked shop, which can be readily supplemented by the Co-Op in Illogan a couple of miles away. Plentiful hot water, and very clean washing facilities were especially welcome after a long day of exploring. The warm and friendly welcome made a big impression on us and we will be very happy to return soon.

Well I don't really want to share this fantastic site, I want to keep it to myself.Lol
We arrived to a lovely welcome from Richard and his family, we were given a map of the site showing us our pitch(lovely views and sunsets). Richard followed up after about 10 mins to see how we were getting on and tell us a little about the site and the walks and anything else you wish to know.
We were pitched on the top field(this has the best views and atmosphere but does slope a little)
The toilet and shower block was ever so clean, no cobwebs, no moths (my daughter hates this when camping). The showers are great, better than mine at home. The laundry clean and everything worked.
The children(14, 10 and 6) loved the play area with the trampoline, swings and table tennis table, the games room has books to borrow, pool table and loads of games to keep the children happy should it rain.
The onsite shop has all the basics you need, it also has some great beers and cider.
Richard walks around every evening at around dusk and is keen to know if you have made any wildlife sightings on camp, if you have they are added to the sighted board that is kept outside the shop.
We made some great friends while here and have already booked to meet up with them here next year.
Best holiday we have ever had

We took mum for a few days to visit Cornwalls many gardens and found this gem of a site by accident on the internet. We had a 2 bedroomed deluxe static caravan and both it and the site exceeded our expectations. The new owners could not have been more helpful and the site was clean and quiet. Excellent facilities for children both indoors and out and a well kept site. Good location for access to Portreath beach and easy (uphill there but downhill home!) walking distance to the Cornish Arms pub where again the landlady was very friendly with excellent beer. Basic on site shop but bigger shops a short drive away. All in all a great find. My only small criticism is that the road near the site is quite busy but only morning and evening. However it is safe for children as there is no easy direct access to this road.
