Campsite absolutely fine - views great, pub lovely, area fab, shop in walking distance, free parking, great kids play area in Pendeen. Stayed for two nights in July, thank goodness it wasn't the same two nights as the previous reviewer, also saw no dog mess but then again the pub's dog was all over the field in and out of people's tents and stuff. £4 per person is ok but there's no water tap so you have to use the sink - in fact there's nothing in the field at all as you go in the pub bit for the toilets and showers and the wash up is behind them. There's no electric - doesn't say you can't use a generator though. There's a pool table in the pub - it says no-one under 14 can play but we did with our kids who are 11 and 12. Pub food ace, massive kids portions. So in summary, a lovely place but if those lot had turned up when we where there we would have complained and been off double quick, actually the landlord said we didn't have to pay in advance (we did), but I probably wouldn't if we stayed again!

I endorse everything said by other reviewers - area wild and beautiful, lovely walks along the coast path to Portheras Cove and Geevor Mine. The pub is very picturesque and the location of the campsite is idyllic. Facilities are adequate and well worth the £4 per person charged. One problem we encountered was trying to find somewhere to pitch our tent where there was no dog poo. Honestly, large sections of the field were liberally peppered with canine diarrhoea and turds. Still we did find somewhere free of it. However, that was not the reason that our stay at North Inn was the worst camping experience we have ever had. There is no gate or barrier to prevent late arrivals. This should not be a problem if people respect others' need for sleep. At 1:30 am several cars turned up, there was much shouting, very loud heavy beat music. We thought it was a rave but it turned out to be a group setting up their tents. At 2:30 we told them to turn the music off. They said they would turn it off at 6 am. More vehicles turned up at 4 am, hooting their arrival. They were having a big party and turned the music off at 7:50 am, turning it on again at 8:30 am. We complained to the Landlord who, to our disbelief, granted them permission to stay another night. We couldn't leave the place quickly enough. We will never stay there again because there is the likelihood that these people, or their friends, will turn up again at any time, knowing that the Landlord has shown acceptance of their behaviour. BE WARNED.

Good little community Pendeen, little take away next to pub, super village shop run with enthusiasm, wild scenery quiet location.
May not suit night lifers but pub is good & bustling, with good food available.
Camp site with simple amenities indoor shower & toilet, open 24hrs is the pub toilets, after pub closes access from camp open, good but limited only the one shower & loo per sex.
Very good value I stayed three days & enjoyed heavy rain. Listened to the fog horn in the early hours. Good bus service with an explorer day pass approx £5-00 for all Cornwall.
Site is small field adjoining pub kept well, made friends with folk who regularly use the site.
I liked it, liked the area & would go back no probs.
Better weather please? too cold to sit on the beach at St. Ives in August? global warming?

What a lovely little site! Ideal for camping or a small caravan (the entrance gate is too narrow for a large van) although there are no hook-ups. There are 2 showers inside the pub building, shared with the holiday cottages. The toilets are also in the pub, and are open all night. The grass was freshly cut and everything was well cared for. The pub itself is pleasant enough although we found it quite smoky, a situation which will no doubt improve after July this year. The area is great for walking, the coast path is less than a mile away, and regular busses pass the site. All in all highly recommended.
