The owners of this campsite could not be more helpful and friendly - this truly is a tranquil and welcoming site.
It was very busy when we arrived - during half term - without a booking and the owners found space for us.
We were so grateful because the facilities here are excellent.
The pitches are flat and great for pegs- the view from our tent was lovely- sheep, trees and fells- what more do you want from the lakes ?
Excellent location and straight into the heart of the district.
A picnic bench for us campers without our own table and chairs was very welcome.
Excellent showers - washing and freezing facilities.
Recycling bins would add to the site - but we brought ours home with us so no problem.
Would definitely recommend
PS - Thank you for the jump start!

Stayed for two nights at this lovely site. Staff were fantastic and friendly. Showers excellent and spotlessly clean, only slight downside is the push to operate tap in the shower.
Will definitely come back again.

Lovely campsite, nice location owners very friendly. Excellent Toilet/shower block all kept very clean. There is a utility room washing up sinks, washer, & freezer. Having no fridge I found the freezer very useful for my ice blocks. There is nice pub about about 5mins walk away, you will need a torch if walking in the dark !

I stopped here with my partner in our bright orange vw campervan over the bank holiday weekend. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, brightening the rainy arrival with their humour.
The toilet facilities were outstanding. The showers were hot and all was very clean. The decor was also very nice.
Everything we needed was accessible, including freezers for our ice packs, a tumble dryer and a spacious washroom.
I would definitely recommend this campsite for caravans, campervans' and tents. A happy camping experience!

One of the best campsites I have ever been to. The owners are some of the loveliest people you will ever meet, with them helping you out with any problem.
The campsite was bought by the current owners 2/3 years ago and the facilities are very modern and clean. The toilets and showers have slate floors and nice lighting, along with good drainage and plenty of hooks for clothes/towel.
There is also a utility room for washing pots, which I have been told will be getting a freezer and laundry facilities in the future. One of the most useful features of the utility room was the availability of a plug socket for us to charge our phone batteries, which had been dead for a week prior to this campsite. Most places would charge for this service. The absence of laundry facilities was no problem what so ever, as I was able to handwash the few clothes I had and hang them outside with a shoelace between the trees to dry (which is all you need really).
The only thing that I would suggest to improve the site would be to get recycling facilities. Our pitch was perfect. Nice, flat and dry underneath some trees so it was shaded from the heat of the sun in the morning. Pegs went in nice and easily too.
The best value for money campsite too! Not too far from Kendal and Windermere, and about a 50 minute walk to Staveley which has a Spar, train station and bus stops. It's cheap to get the train to Windermere, around £3 one way.
I cannot recommend this campsite more!

Very clean & tidy compact site, caravan levelling can be difficult on some of the pitches, you would need blocks to make sure the legs can support the caravan, not a major problem. Low water pressure when filling the Aquaroll this took some time. Toilets & showers excellent, owners really friendly. Will definitely be coming again, just right distance when visiting Kendal, Windermere etc. Will be telling our Caravaning friends.

We have been regular visitors to Pound Farm for a few years. We stayed over Easter weekend, the site was very busy, even so the beautiful, spotless, modern shower/toilet block was immaculate. Margaret & Billy, the owners, do a great job, they are so friendly & helpful. Can't wait for next visit. Very highly recommended.

We rang up on the morning of arrival and were pleased to hear that space was available for us to camp for two nights. We were directed to a space for setting up the tent which wasn't bad as most ground left was very uneven. We set up on easy ground for pegs to go straight in which again was very good news.
Toilets were very clean and tidy but wasn't many to pick from, which at busy times could cause issues, 3 toilets no urinals and only two showers, no hooks on the door to hang your towel or clothes when in the mens showers which was a shame as I had to pile my clothes on my shoes. I was however informed there was a over door hanger in the ladies but only two toilets in there. During the night there are no lights at all which didn't help my journey to the toilets, some dull downward lighting would have been perfect to make the journey easier
Clean drinking water points at few locations, and disposal areas also,
No playground from what I saw for children. Cant give rating on child friendliness as I didn't take children and didn't see many to comment on.
No shop or pub on site which would have been easier for a quick drink or some extra essential food/toiletries.
Petrol station with camping shop and coffee shop very close, and pub at end of the road a 2-4 minute drive but winding roads not great for walking down in the dark.
15-20 drive to windermere and bowness.
Second night we upgraded to the pod by paying the difference in cost from tentt to pod, this was very kind of the staff to allow us to do so and we loved it in there, hooks outside for coats, carpet floor and heater for the cold nights.
Gates left open all night which isnt great as anyone could arrive with no staff attending that I was aware of,
All in all great site not too badly priced but few improvements would make all the difference

Spoke to them on the day we wanted to stop for 1 night. We were told they only do minimum of 2 nights but because they had spaces it would be ok but had to pay a higher pitch fee (which is understandable). We arrived afternoon and the owner was there to do the booking in. Pitch was on grass. The pitches were in a semi circle which was nice as they were spaced out. The facilities were clean on arrival but by evening were starting to show their were children on site with all the wet tissue in sinks and on walls where they had chucked it. By 10am next morning the toilets hadnt been cleaned and were in an even worse state.
Everything was quiet by 10. 30 except a roudy couple of women who continued to get rowdier well into the early hours (they were moved into a more empty area of the site next day where they were less likely to be a noise nuisance).
Children were welcome there and although there was no park for them there was a nice open space for them to play on.
We would go again as I like to give places a second chance as we all have off days.
